I don't even know where to begin. Brooke and Rebecca's care was impeccable from the beginning…read more Communication was clear and prompt and my husband and I instantly felt we were in good hands at our first complimentary consultation session. They asked many questions of us and we of them. They were well organized and complete. We felt informed about every step of the process and in creating our (loose) birth plan. After our last session together before my son Matthew's birth, my husband unexpectedly passed away. Needless to say, so much about my birth process and my emotional state was in flux. Brooke and Rebecca gave me another session with my new birth support partner (my sister in law) and instantly helped her feel loved and supported (she had also lost her brother, my husband). As I neared and passed my due date, induction became a hot topic. I was of advanced maternal age and with some of the stressors in my life I was feeling a bit of pressure to usher Matthew into this world. I had many a phone call with Brooke (who was to be on call for my labor) discussing pros and cons. She assured me she was on my team no matter what I chose to do. I ultimately chose to be induced and Brooke helped me anticipate what would happen at every step along the way. When my planned unmedicated labor became physically unbearable, Brooke compassionately supported me in my choice to receive both narcotics and an epidural. She even laid on the couch next to me to relieve my sister in law while I painlessly laborer and rested. Matthew was born perfect a few hours later and Brooke even captured photos of the bittersweet moment for me. All in all, I don't know how I would have survived my birth without Brooke. I could not have asked for a better resource, advocate, or friend in this process. I would not do birth without Brooke or Rebecca, for sure!

She also seemed to offer a broader range of services and expertise than most other doulas we'd found in our research. In the end, she turned out to be an even better "investment," than we'd anticipated. My physical birthing experience was a tough one--24 hours of labor that ended in an unavoidable c-section. But I really believe that because we worked with Brooke, my experience was one of empowerment and deep satisfaction (plus an incredible bonding experience with my husband) whereas it could have easily been scary and disappointing had we not had Brooke as our doula.

How anyone goes through this process without a doula, I have no idea). Upon our first meeting, her enthusiasm, passion and knowledge was evident and we appreciated her confident, straightforward manner. She was proactive about reaching out to check in with us throughout pregnancy and we happily took advantage by asking many questions along the way. When it came to the birth experience, things could not have gone any different than we expected so again we were grateful to have Olivia by our side to thoughtfully explain and compare various options. We ended up needing her earlier than we anticipated and she arrived quickly and immediately went into action. She ensured both myself and my husband felt cared for throughout the entire experience and her kind gestures (taking photos, giving my husband breaks, bringing us food from the cafeteria afterward) were greatly valued. Lastly I found her postpartum visits, which are highly individualized, quite useful in helping me process my birthing experience and simply get an extra nap knowing my son was being well looked after. We can't recommend Olivia highly enough!

She delivered everything to our home in a very raw time right after our son was born. She was empathetic and kind and the products are amazing. I couldn't recommend her enough!

While we had hoped to have a natural labor and stay in our home with Angela as long as possible before going to the hospital, medical necessity required a hospital induction. It was the last thing we wanted and had my husband and I worried that my labor was no longer in our control. However, because of Angela's tremendous support (and timely massages!), I was able to have a wonderful, pain-med free labor and birth a healthy baby boy despite being induced with Misoprostol, Pitocin, and having the OB breaking my water. I can't imagine such a rewarding experience despite the interventions being possible without Angela and know that hiring her was the best decision we made. We look forward to, hopefully, having her be our midwife for a home birth on baby #2!

She was informative, patient, and overall just incredibly wonderful through everything. We had a stressful pregnancy and almost had to transfer to the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Clinic at Legacy Emanuel. We had to see a perinatologist, meaning that we were classified as high risk for a while due to low amniotic fluid and potential placental insufficiency, but things turned around and we were able to stay with Dr. Murray, THANK GOODNESS. I mean nothing negative towards the doctors at MFMC at Emanuel, but my husband & I just ADORE Dr. Murray. The office staff are friendly and helpful. We haven't had any problems getting through when we've had concerns and appointments are easy to make. I've met a few of the other doctors there and we love them too. My daughter was born in September 2012 at Good Sam and Dr. Murray delivered her. We induced about a week early due to the fact that I was measuring big, and it seemed like our little angel might not be able to squeeze out!! Everything was going well until my daughter's shoulder got stuck on the way out behind my pubic bone... this is called "shoulder dystocia," which is classified as an obstetrical emergency. Dr. Murray acted swiftly and confidently. She gave me an episiotomy and pulled my daughter out (my daughter couldn't breathe due to a compressed cord because she was only part of the way out). After she was born, I began to hemorrhage and she stitched me up and gave me a shot to stop the bleeding. She saved BOTH of our lives. Throughout our pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care, Dr. Murray has been nothing short of amazing. She was calm and conscientious to our needs, and I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who is looking for an OB/GYN. WE LOVE HER!!!!!
