In the middle of working with her, we ended up doing a frenectomy, and she guided us through the recovery process every step of the way with so much knowledge, encouragement, and care. She was actually recommended by a renowned pediatric ENT who called her the "baby magician," and boy was he right! Her ability to assess what's going on and gently troubleshoot is truly amazing. We feel so supported and confident under her care, and our baby is so much happier because of it. I'm beyond grateful we found her and would recommend her a thousand times over to any parent needing lactation support!

She didn't just meet my highest hopes & expectations--she exceeded them in every way imaginable, leaving a profound, life-changing impact on our family. Thanks to Melissa's expertise & unmatched dedication, we uncovered that our son's struggles went far beyond his tongue tie, which kept reattaching despite proper release & after-care. Melissa helped us identify other contributing factors & tailor our after-care approach, ensuring optimal wound healing. She is also highly skilled in wound care, assessment, & intervention in the event of reattachment--using a deeper technique to release the tongue if she notices new tissue growth. She has done this for us on multiple occasions, making all the difference in our son's progress. Additionally, she helped us identify other areas of concern that required prompt medical attention, ensuring we didn't miss a critical window for early intervention. She then took charge--placing referrals, following up, & being an ever-reliable resource. She was always just a text or email away, responding quickly--even during evenings, weekends, & holidays. I'll never forget reaching out in crisis around Thanksgiving when my son was struggling to eat. She responded immediately, offered feedback/advice, & consulted w/ his ENT that weekend to get us answers. By Mon, she had us on his schedule for surgical revision. Melissa's expertise didn't stop there. Her keen attention to detail & ability to see the bigger picture led to a groundbreaking medical discovery for our family--one that not only helped us better understand our own health but also gave us critical insight into our son's needs. Her observation helped us recognize factors that could impact his wound healing, which became invaluable for future surgical planning. What sets Melissa apart is that she doesn't just follow a one-size-fits-all approach--she looks at the individual in front of her. If she saw a concern, she told us about it, even if it went against conventional advice or prior recommendations we had received. Time & time again, she was spot-on. Her supplement suggestions, for example, weren't just based on what's typically recommended for all infants but tailored specifically to our son's unique needs. The same went for her referrals--some contradicted previous medical advice we had been given, but in the end, she was aways right & her option quickly became the one that mattered most. In summary, Melissa is a true expert, investigator, & advocate (not to mention, researcher) who goes above & beyond for the families she works with. She deserves 1,000 's for the incredible impact she's had on our lives. I truly cannot thank her enough. In fact, one time I even told her that she somehow got me feeling grateful for our son's reattachment BC had that not happened, we never would have found her. My only regret is, I wish we had found her sooner! I also wish she was dual-licensed as a pediatrician BC she would kill it & so that we don't have to stop seeing her Lastly, in case you're still not convinced, you should check out her post-frenotomy tongue stretching video on YouTube, which has 1.7M + views! https://youtu.be/2JMcbF85ehs?si=mDtOD9IZ7m0FiwHt

It's…read moreeven more disheartening, actually it's disgusting, when it's a woman treating women/reproductive health. Yes, people expect to have agency over their own bodies! lf you too feel like you would like to collaborate with a caring doctor I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. (The office staff and medical assistant were professional and this does not reflect on them.) Dr. Kyle could not muster even the pretense of empathy and in fact achieved the opposite. I left feeling like my very existence was an inconvenience, diminished and dismissed, traumatized- more afraid than ever (directly due to the complete lack of bedside manner, not b/c I was there for an emergency, uncommon or embarrassing issue). To her credit she was able to do so efficiently and with minimal time wasted. It's tempting to provide a play by play of what was at most a 10 min appointment to illustrate just how terrible the experience was- I don't want to share medical details online. Dr. Kyle could have in our short time together chosen to speak a single caring statement and I wouldn't not be writing these words, but did not extend a single scrap of empathy during our short time together. (It still would have been a waste of my time, but a little caring goes a long way.) I was not ONCE asked if I had any questions even though I intentionally mentioned it was my first time discussing imaging results with a doctor and that I have never had any surgery. With barely a glance my way, at my chart and with only a single question about my symptoms, the doctor IMMEDIATELY tried to push me into what I consider an extreme surgery with NO further explanation. I was shut down the moment I attempted to initiate a discussion- asking for "alternatives b/c given my medical history I have concerns re. surgical outcomes." Instead of addressing my concerns I was painted what was to me a terrifying image of a damaging surgery that would leave a long dramatic scar and shown the door.(BUT lol I was handed a FAQ lifted off the web but only the questions were printed- have to click the drop down for answers- I can google things-I see a Dr. to get an experts medical opinion! ) Yes, there is a possible alternative but they didn't even get the referral right- I think they googled it as it was the same place that made the FAQ but didn't bother to check that the procedure is done at the Minnesota office locations. I wasn't given the doctor's expert opinion on how viable of an alternative it is, success rate etc. or anything beyond the name of the procedure and the joke of googled half baked handout. Nor the opportunity to ask. I know many doctors have a hard job that in recent years have faced added challenges. I'm trying to give someone like this the benefit of the doubt- first impression was they looked exhausted/burnt out. I'm not out to bash anyone but to warn others and validate those who have had similar experiences. I genuinely wonder why doctors like this continue to practice medicine. I guess to pay the bills like the rest of us, it's one thing to quiet quit your office job- when one is a medical doctor there are potentially serious negative consequences for patients. In my case who knows I may need surgery, I may not. What I will not do is be bullied into making an uninformed decision about my body to appease a doctor who shows they couldn't care less about me. I will however warn others- I am particularly mortified to read that a doctor so lacking in bedside manner Dr.'s bio says pediatric and adolescents are a specialty.

I had a hard time asking/accepting help with my first kid. I kept telling myself that we could do it, we could do it all because every parent goes through what we're going through. It was kind of like a right of passage to suffer. But, I suffered greatly without the help. I developed postpartum depression that I didn't realize I had until after the fact, and I was overwhelmed with going from no kids to having an infant with colic. On top of that, I was healing and learning to breastfeed/pump and dealing with the expectations of becoming the parent I want to be and the guilt of not giving it my best every day or using formula. Fast forward to 2024 with our 2nd kid and we knew we had to make big changes to survive. My cousin told me she did a night nanny and that blew our minds. We researched and felt that the Baby Nest team resonated with us the most. Their site was easy to navigate. I quickly contacted Sherilee who put me in touch with Sarah D. We then scheduled a meet up and knew we wanted Sarah to be our postpartum doula. She's very professional and has lots of experience with many families including raising her own family of 5. She was very transparent about her schedule with other clients during the time frame we needed her. We booked eight weeks of 4 nights with Sarah. Since she couldn't do all four nights, we had other doulas in their network: Kimmi, Lakiah, and Mel. ALL of them have been wonderful, knowledgeable, empathetic, and professional. We've never felt judged for our decisions in caring for our newborn. They are so good and trustworthy with our baby; we never had to worry. They take detailed notes of their shifts and shared it with Google doc. I recommend all of these people if you're looking for a solid team of doulas. Specifically Sarah:She has excellent communication and very trustworthy. It is so easy to connect with her. I am very thankful she could not only watch our son but also take care of our dishes and make us breakfast that would last about a week! If you're a first time parent or continuing to grow your family and on the fence about a night nanny/postpartum doula, contact Sherilee and check Baby Nest out. When it comes to health and wellness, this service was absolutely worth every penny. THANK YOU, BABY NEST.

She fit in perfectly with our family including our dog and grandmas who were present at the hospital. We had several meetings with her before birth so we could get comfortable with each other and get our questions answered about hospital births, exercises to help baby get into ideal birth position, and postpartum care. As is typical, our birth did not go as planned. We ended up doing an induction close to 42 weeks and ultimately had an urgent cesarean delivery. Marie provided a steadfast and comforting presence during labor, providing comfort measures and encouraged different positions, and made everyone feel more calm. She also made sure we had options and made informed choices when interacting with hospital staff. Marie stayed at the hospital until our cesarean was over and helped us with initial breastfeeding and postpardum care, which was helpful because I was exhausted and not feeling great. A week later, we met to go over a timeline of the experience and process it together. That meeting was incredibly healing for me and has helped me process and come to terms with the experience.
