I'd been struggling to find a studio in Paris with a good community vibe and great instruction -- Trini delivers. Trini offers a lovely space to practice yoga, the owner and teachers are gracious and welcoming to new students. After sampling a number of classes it's clear to see it's a good community with mixed level students (great) and the energy is good. Favourite instructors to date ... Olivier - fun, energy, he doesn't take himself to seriously and makes a difficult practice (Ashtanga) quite approachable. Laurence is awesome, she teaches in a traditional fashion (like much of the US) and is very oriented towards alignment based instruction within the context of a traditional Ashtanga practice. Loved it so much, I bought the multi-class pass and I've turned other friends onto the studio.

Follow the signs to the doll museum ("Musée de la poupée"). I have never been there mind you, dolls are way too scary. Lots of benches, a lovely alleyway under am arbour (is that the right word? some kind of metal or wooden structure that covers the alley and has lovely flowers/plants on it), and a little vegetable patch in the back. You can barely hear the noises from the very busy main street, even though you're literally a stone's throw away form Beaubourg. I think they do tours because I saw a bunch of tourists listening to a guide last time I went there (see how good I am at figuring out clues?). Which might be good if you want to actually know more about this history of this lovely garden, because the only thing I can tell you as that its name comes from its chestnut tree. Apparently, it grew from a graft from the one Anne Frank used to see from her window.

I tried going to HintHunt with some friends on a recent trip but I ran into a few obstacles that made this difficult, mostly with their online booking site: 1. The site has detailed descriptions of escape rooms, but the rooms you can actually book are different and they don't all have descriptions. 2. Some of the games are at one HintHunt location, and other ones are at a different location nearby, but the website doesn't make this clear. 3. My group only spoke English, and it's not clear whether all of the escape rooms offered on the website are available in English. I think I finally figured out that all of their games are available in English, but I'm still not sure. When you book a room online, it isn't clear whether you're booking it in English or in French. 4. I tried emailing customer support but I never received a reply. I tried going to one of the HintHunt locations to ask these questions and book it directly there, but the person there said it could only be handled through the website. HintHunt sounded like fun, but we ended up doing something else instead.

At first I was a bit hesitant as I thought with it being in Paris the clues might all be in French or the English translations might make it difficult for us to actually escape but I was wrong. The staff were excellent at explaining the concept and rules of the game. We were a group of 16 and were split in to three teams in different rooms. It was great to be able to compete against the other teams. I don't want to give away the game too much but it was a murder mystery theme and there were loads of really cool mini challenges within the rooms. I have done this sort of thing before but this seemed really well thought out. The game master was great - any time we were off the beaten track he pointed us in the right direction without completely giving everything away - top marks! After you escape or don't escape you can take pictures against a branded back drop and make use of the photo props which we had fun doing.

Drawbacks: -This is straight-up, dialogue-driven Bikram yoga. Some teachers are more charismatic than others (I liked Hallie's class best, and not just because she's American!), but generally the studio style was a bit dull for me. -Very few amenities. Bring your own hair ties, plastic bags, cold drinks. -The men's and women's dressing rooms are mysteriously unmarked, so I saw quite a few people--okay, I was one of them--wander into the wrong room while yoga stoned. ...But if you're a bit pervy and consider this a benefit rather than a drawback, you can think of this as a 4-star review.

We had picked up some onigiri and decided to eat them here on a park bench. It was December, so the park was relatively empty, giving us plenty of places to sit. It was cold so didn't stay very long, but just knowing how much he liked this place makes me want to come back and stay a bit longer (when the weather is nicer).

We came across this jardin serendipitously. That happens a lot in Paris--you're on your way to a…read moremuseum or restaurant, turn a corner, and *poof* you are somewhere cool. It is absolutely worth planning to stroll through these jardins, though, and close as they are to the Louvre and other landmarks, there really is no reason to not plan. Around the perimeter of the jardin, there are some lovely little shops to peek into. Art, antiques--many things to admire! At the far end, the one closest to the river, are the famous striped columns that you see in so many photos. (Yes, they are totally Instagrammable!) If you would prefer something calmer, stay on the far end, which is quiet and green. It's really a nice little pause.

Midtown Studio…read moreoffers 50 minute bootcamp style classes that incorporate a combination of interval running, strength training and functional exercises. It's similar to Barry's except the sets between exercises are shorter and you switch from the bench, floor and treadmill more frequently. I like that there's an open space/turf where you can do more exercises that utilizes open space that's separate from the bench. It definitely feels like an all over athletic conditioning class in that regard. The woodway curved treadmills are really cool in that it's entirely dynamic and driven by your resistance although there is a manual resistance knob to add on more weight. Once you get going on it, it can go really fast and feel intimidating but after the first class you get the hang of it! There's also these straps with handles attached to the treadmill that we didn't get to use but I assume they're used in more cable based exercises. The bench is stacked with different equipment, like dumbbells and kettlebells as well as battleropes and sandbags. Class size is about half of Barry's at full capacity (20-25?) The first time I took an "extreme abs" class with an instructor whose name I didn't catch. It was definitely one of those classes that went from 0 to 100 reaaal quick so if you're not as used to working out at that intensity I'd disclose it with the instructor. The second class was with Manu, the owner, and he was FANTASTIC!!! He was such an excellent coach and really tried to give attention to each individual (something you wouldn't see at Barry's). He gave clear instructions in both French and English and was extremely motivating. He's super friendly and runs a great studio! Classes aren't as frequent and tend to go more toward the later morning into the late evening. My friend and I purchased a 2/30 euro intro deal and it was well worth the money!! If you're interested in getting a sweat on in Paris or wanna make more room for crossaints, this is your place! There are showers and Rituals amenities to freshen up with after class.

It looked like Ganondorfs crib. I get why Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald moved out here. My pen was flowing in France, it damn near cured my writer's block. So much inspiration in this beautiful country. The chicken turned out to be the only decent grocery store bird I had in Paris, and what a glorious place to consume it. We've walked by this park so many times. We frequent the playground quite a bit. There are two…read moreplaygrounds but one is at a charge but looks really interesting. The area is always bustling since it's close to Rue Montorgueil. The church is quite epic looking that towers over the garden and people are always in the park even in winter snacking and chatting with their friends/families.
