Usually I have a good experience but today I was ignored at the register after trying to get the workers attention. The lady assisted 2 people behind me before me. maybe she's having a bad day, idk. Never asked "what can i get you", instead I was stared at for about 20 seconds before I asked for a Bayou brezze with light syrup. Never said anything to me besides the total. No clean tables or seats. I got the drink that was left sitting behind the counter for 10 minutes. I took a sip and there was so much syrup I couldn't even drink it. The barista was friendly, knowledgeable & patient in explaining choices. The wait to order was very minimal & receipt of my beverage was quick. Pup cups for my dogs were an added treat. Everything was tasty & as ordered. Highly recommend this location! read more

PJ's is one of my favorite coffee chains and for good reason. They have great cold brew, the staff are friendly, and they're consistent. I stopped in here after attending a funeral recently. Coming back to Houma always brings back a flood of memories. I don't even think this PJs was around the last time I was here. But it's located near the neighborhood I lived in when I was born. It's also right along the route we would drive to go to my grandparents' house or to see my dad or parrain. Good memories. My stop here was brief. In the short time I was here I was able to use a clean restroom, get a delicious cold brew, and some egg bites. Service was prompt and friendly and just what I expected from a PJ's. Next time I'm in Houma, I'll be sure to stop in and take a stroll down memory lane. read more

King Cake Review!! PJ's Coffee is my favorite local coffee place hands down & whenever I'm in the mood for it I'll pick it over any other place. I love that their coffee is smooth and has hints of chocolate in it and am always impressed with their specialty drinks. Now there's even another reason to love and stay loyal to PJ's. Did you know that the PJ's in Houma carries Nonna Randazzo king cakes?! Yeah, neither did I! We made a beeline to PJ's one recent weekend to grab a king cake. Now, all the hype about this legendary king cake had me nervous, I'm not gonna lie. What if they're sold out already? How much is this thing gonna cost? Will all future king cakes just pale in comparison and ruin the whole dang experience for me? If you're wondering how a little shop in Houma gets THE king cake, it's not shipped, like I thought. They actually go to Metairie to pick them up according to the super nice lady working that day. If you want a certain flavor, give them a call and they will pick up and hold it for you. The customer service here was stellar as is the case with every PJ's I've ever been to. So, how'd it taste? To be honest, I wasn't blown away. It was slightly dry like it had been sitting out for a day or two. The flavor was pretty damn good, though. Lots of swirly cinnamon, good filling (we got pecan praline) to cake ratio, and tons of icing. If you're an icing lover you will be in heaven. They don't use a light hand with it and that's just fine by me! At the astonishing price of $30 bucks though, I really expected more. A dry king cake for $30 is just not acceptable. Definitely wouldn't go out of my way to get the king cake here but I'm glad I tried Nonna Randazzo's version finally. read more

I went to PJs a lot while I was in Houma. They have good coffee. They were also accommodating. I ordered a large number of beignets for a group and they were pretty busy. It took a little time but they were able to accommodate the last minute request. They don't have everything on their menu but that could have also been due to the storm and getting deliveries. They have a good pumpkin latte but they ran out of pumpkin pretty quickly and I wasn't able to get it again. They do have almond milk which was great. I didn't see any gluten free options in their dessert case. I do recommend them. read more

Absolutely delicious. I'm visiting from out of state. Decided to try PJs. The beignets were delicious. Perfect crunch to fluffiness. The coffee (pumpkin sweet cream cold brew) was equally delicious. My coffee came out very quickly as well. The beignets were apparently in demand, but the barista was very honest and polite about the wait. They were worth the wait. read more

I was always a fan of PJ's. So I was especially excited when one opened up closer to home. The coffee is just smoother than the other popular place we all have a love/hate relationship with. My favorite is the mocha granita. It's not as sweet as the fraps elsewhere. And if you know anything about me, I don't have much of a sweet tooth anymore. The pastries could use a makeover. Anytime baked goods or pasties sit out for awhile, it'll get stale. I'm always in favor of supporting local businesses before big chains. Glad PJ's measures up. read more

I love Pjs! My favorite items are the muffins! Omggg so good! Blueberry and cinnamon are my favorites. They are made in house and you can definitely tell! I like them all! Two stars because of its location & they are usually quick. However that's all I can say that's positive. While in grad school, I was a frequent flyer at the PJ's on Tulane's campus. I loved their selection of drinks, they always had plenty of non-dairy options (almond milk, soy, and so on). They also made their own all natural simple syrup. I was so excited a few years ago when they open one in Houma. However, every time I've been the coffee has tasted horrible. It always has a old taste. They also never get my order correctly. Every time I say no whip cream, I get whip cream. Today they asked twice & still put whip cream. I found out that PJ's is franchise & that's the reason for the drastic difference. PJ's has delicious coffee, this coffee shop has a wide selection of coffees and juices from ice coffees, espressos, classic coffeea, to house blend coffee. They also provide desserts, muffins and other various foods and drinks. I really enjoyed their services. They have gorgeous baristas and they are very professional and kind. Wow...normally I love PJ's other locations but I stopped here this morning for an iced coffee and was sorely disappointed! The brew was bitter and I was charged an extra $1 for half ice. Sorry but the upcharge is just a money grab. Or they fill the cup with ice you're only getting about 1/3 actual coffee and that's watered concentrate. I'll make my own cold brew. read more
