It is well organized, full of Thousands of books for $1 dollar (Not all books are one dollar, but more than half!). They also have DVDs, and kids books.There is a big shelf as soon as you walk in filled with the books that most kids have to read for their English classes, and most for $1. And then you are finished reading your books, you can donate them back to this facility and it goes to further the efforts of the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library.....win-win!! An added benefit for those who like to compost, Compost NOW accepts frozen compostable food scraps here from 12:30pm-2pm every Wednesday. Recycle some books, and recycle food waste.

It's a huge store that buys from customers. Getting into and out of the parking lot is difficult because U.S. 190 and service roads are confusing and traffic is chaotic. I use my phone to navigate even short drives in this part of Covington.

It's the large space formerly occupied by Pier 1, and they have transformed this into a spacious and amazing media store! 2nd & Charles is a subsidiary of Books-A-Million, and like its parent store, they sell lots of books! This includes used books, which have been in short supply in this area since Cottonwood Books sadly closed. However, this store has lots more! I saw pretty much every kind of physical media represented, as well as lots of cards and pop culture collectibles. There were magazines, comics, music (including vinyl, movies, and even some musical instruments! The staff were going about asking customers if they needed assistance, and there was a line of people checking out with their newly found books and other items. Everyone seemed to be happy with this new business when I visited. I'm glad to see new businesses coming into Baton Rouge, especially book-related businesses!
