She did not steer us wrong. Fish Kitchen is on the second floor in downtown Bantry on top of the Central Fish Market. It is a tiny, intimate restaurant serving fresh caught seafood. The food was delicious. We started with a craft beer for him and a cider for me. They carry a well curated variety of local craft beers and also have a great wine list as well (the ladies next to us had polished off two bottles). We split the prawns in a garlic chorizo sauce. It was delicious and the shrimp were cooked well and flavorful. I had the haddock and chips while my husband had the crab claw/hake duo. The haddock had a light batter and his crab and hake had a great garlic marinade to them. The service was very welcoming. We stayed there past 10:30pm just chatting with Dermot. We would definitely return to Bantry to dine here again!

On the other hand, the John Dory was nicely done, texture spot-on, juicy and savoy flavor, but the white sauce looked broken and watery, and the taste was a bit on the bland side.
