Still just as good as when they were at the station! I didn't realize this but they also offer free dilevery directly if you order from them!! So just sharing a quick tip if you call directly and are ordering more than $30 you will save yourself delivery fee by just calling them directly & you will have more options for toppings and combinations.

The food was fresh and delish. The only little down side is they need to change the time from 1030 to 1130 on yelp, that's all. Other then that worker was friendly

First time trying this place, and was so happy with the pizza. Price is better than the nearby chains, and quality was excellent. I got a veggie with modifications and fried zucchini sticks. Will definitely come back.

I took a bite, I almost swallowed this plastic. Think it melted from the plastic cover due to the pasta being so hot, some pieces broke off.

Ordered a few things: wings, pasta and pizza. Alfredo kinda lacked flavor, it was immensely cheesy. In addition, the plastic cover that it came in, melted (because pasta was hot) and I almost swallowed a piece of plastic as it broke off from the cover :/ The pizza was probably the best thing from this place.

This family own pizzeria makes some dam good pizza. I picked up a 14' meatball and mushroom pizza to go for around $8. I waited as they made my pizza and I quickly learned that these people are a friendly bunch. After all, they put up with my sarcastic comments. Anyways, like I said, they make some fine pizza. The pizza came loaded with tender and well seasoned meatballs and a good amount of tasty and tender mushroom. It was hard to miss both, in every bite. The sauce was light in flavor and not to overly aggressive and the well melted mozzarella cheese throughout the pizza just made everything that much better. What I really liked about that crust was that it was not overly thick. It was not as thin as an East Coast pizza crust but not at thick as an Italian Pizza. It was in a middle and offered a slight crunch and good moistness. Its texture had that little bit of a chew which made for good eating. Well done gents. They mostly specialize in pizza, but they do offer sandwiches, pastas, and salads.

Stopped here as I had a discount from Restaurant.com, just to find out they DO NOT honor the discount from Restaurant.com. It didn't stop us from seeing what this place was about. We ordered the following: Buffalo chicken pizza - amazing Buffalo wings - average Lasagna - home made but nothing to write home about Garlic bread - way over buttered

After a long day at sea world looking for a place to eat with my family, Pizzero ensured to fulfill my pizza desires. Their Pizza was amazing, the wings were to die for . Everything from the pizza to their pastas were on point. The fact that they were almost closing and still managed to deliver amazing quality (not rushed) food was just IT for me. Customer service was outstanding! Mario made it happened. Would def recommend over and over! Definitely will be my go to from now on.

The crazy calabrese was a little on the salty side but it was still pretty good. Best sandwich so far has been the spicy sicilian. The market is well sorted with lots of interesting items and fair prices. The only thing is their tall cans of craft beer. A lot of them were old or had no date on the bottom of the can and as someone who works in the beer industry let me tell you. Beer does go bad. Not in a you can't drink it kind of way but flavor declines, especially craft beer. Skunky, taste changes, aroma changes, color changes, it's just not great. I picked up a can that was dated May 2025, for craft that is OLD and not good. Not a problem for your average person but I'm just letting y'all know. Nonetheless this place is delicious, the service is great, fast, friendly. The food is overall good, the market is nice and well sorted. What I don't understand are the comments that say I been here so many times but never left a good review, suddenly they have one bad experience over something like not enough lettuce or they ran out of something and leave a bad review. Over the years that I've been coming here, I've been pleasantly surprised to find that the quality, portion size, and price point has kept pace with inflation and remains the best sandwich option in East County." I'm certainly not the longest-running customer of this spot, but I have been coming to Grove Grinder ever since I moved to the area four years ago. I kept coming back, wrote rave reviews in San Diego food-related social media groups and threads, bugged food influencers about them, and sent many of my friends and family their direction because I was that big of a fan. My husband and I have taken these sandwiches on roadtrips and plane rides, grabbed them in the middle of household chores, and picked them up for each other when the other is too tired or sick to cook. The reason why I'm ultimately knocking this review back and heavily questioning whether I should return has to do with a disappointing experience from my last visit with my husband that we now think was part of a larger pattern. The past couple of times we saw this person at the register, we used my name for the order. This time, though, my husband gave his name instead and the person at the register gave him some attitude about it and asked "You're *really* going with that?" I don't understand what their problem was with his name, but both the person in the front and the staff in the back refused to use it. They called out everyone else's names (and they usually call out mine when I order) and we noticed that our sandwiches were looking skimpy compared to how stacked we know they can come. My husband uses a nickname that might not be the name he was given at birth, but is a name he has used for over 20 years and might as well be his "real," name. We don't want to make assumptions, but most of the staff has always been at least a little cold towards us at best, slightly rude at worst, and even though this experience might seem relatively small to some, it's ultimately the straw that broke the camel's back. We suspect that their distaste for us might be politically motivated. We know it can't be personal because we've been nothing but polite. It sucks, but it seems to be that if they perceive you to not be "their people," your money isn't as green at their establishment, even if it spends all the same. I loved this place and felt lucky that they're close to my house, but feeling disrespected and like the staff are trying to fire us as customers is enough motivation to take our business elsewhere.

The space itself is also a plus--it's bright, airy, spacious, and has plenty of seating. Unfortunately, the overall experience was overshadowed by cleanliness and service issues. Many tables were left covered in crumbs and empty cups, yet employees made no effort to bus or wipe them down. We watched one employee throw away a leftover drink from a table, push the trash can back against the wall, and then return behind the counter to attend to a customer's drink order and then use her phone without washing her hands first. That was concerning from a sanitation standpoint. We ordered the Lavender Bliss Iced Latte with oat milk, which costs an additional $1.00. The drink arrived with barely any milk, so I had to return to ask for a splash more. If customers are paying extra for a milk alternative, the drink should be prepared properly the first time. We also had the Honeycomb Latte, and the latte art was severely lacking. While latte art isn't the most important part of a drink, it's often a reflection of the care and craftsmanship that goes into its preparation. A little more attention to presentation would elevate the overall experience The restroom was also in poor condition. There were visible stains on the toilet seat, toilet paper scattered across the floor, a full trash can, and an unpleasant odor. Regular restroom checks would go a long way toward improving the customer experience. What made the experience especially frustrating was seeing employees on their phones during slower periods instead of taking the opportunity to clean tables, tidy the café, or check the restroom. Those small tasks make a big difference in creating a welcoming environment. When service and basic care are lacking, it also makes it hard to feel comfortable leaving a tip. We did tip, but afterward regretted it. The drink menu and atmosphere have a lot of potential, but the lack of cleanliness and attention to detail made it difficult to enjoy our visit. I hope management addresses these issues, as this café could be a much better experience with stronger housekeeping and customer service.
