This place has a set menu, with a LOT of good food! They bring a big plates of "fritti" (i.e. fried zucchini, rice balls, mozzarella, etc.), and a plates of mussels with spicy tomato sauce, and then one pizza for each person (!) plus a drink and a small scoop of gelato. The food was fantastic! In fact, the pizza was better than pizza we had in Naples. Nice family place.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars, instead of 5, is that the service was slow, and their English was extremely limited. We had to wait a LONG time for our pizzas, at one point, they were giving pizzas to other people (local Italians) who had ordered after us. Thankfully, I speak enough Italian to complain, and they brought our pizzas next. So, the place is geared more to local families than tourists.
Still, it was a wonderful dinner! Ercolano does not have a ton of dinner options, and we thought this was one of the best. read more
