Meal was perfect. Best crust and pizza flavoring. Our pastas were excellent too. So glad we stumbled upon this place on our walk.

Motorino is hands down my favorite pizza restaurant…read more I've been to multiple locations of Motorino, both in HK and NYC, and it's always consistent. A little expensive for pizza, but since I do not eat it often, I think it's well worth it. The brussel sprout pizza is my favorite, and unique (I've never seen it at another pizza place). I'm also into any pizza with prosciutto now it. Make sure to save room for dessert - the cheesecake is fantastic.

Having been there multiple times, I was a bit surprised when on this recent visit is when they handed us a stamped loyalty card. I asked our sweet server if this was something new and she said no. I asked her why they didn't inform us of that on our previous visits and she, of course, didn't have an answer, but politely mentioned she's seen us before and that's why she gave it to us. The pizzas are good. They've added cocktails recently here, I reckon. Their menu keeps changing. The one time we had antipasti there - smoked eggplant, my jaw was on the floor with the price to portion size proportion, more because the taste disappointed as well. But the good news is that their pizzas don't disappoint. As with other Blacksheep Restaurants, they have the friendliest of staff. Pictures on the blog - thevegetarianvoyager

But my nose was assaulted with someone's body odor. Half star ding! Last time I'd been here was more than 3 years ago and the cost of a custom pizza has really shot up. But it's still as good as ever - we stan tomato base w/ meatballs and some basil. Holy mackerole. But the San Pelligrino Limonata I ordered was only 200ml - half star ding! In any case Ciao Chow is a really nice food place right at the heart of LKF so I highly recommend people come here for some wholesome non alcoholic times with friends or just for lunch while at work during COVID shutdown times!

But Ciao Chow gave me a newfound appreciation for those two dishes. Mind you, the tiramisu here is the absolute best I've tasted in my (then) 24 years of living. I shared it between two other friends, and honestly... that was a terrible decision. I should've just gotten my own. I've been on a mission to find tiramisu just as good ever since then, but to no luck. My friend was adamant about ordering the gnocchi here so I gave in, and thank Buddha that I did. It was better than the other pasta dish (might've been carbonara) that we ordered. The ambiance was also perfect to enjoy some charcuterie with wine. I absolutely loved the open kitchen. Can't wait to come back here again!

Since I was visiting from out of town, I was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt and I didn't feel out of place. If I do go back in the future, I'd probably wear a collared shirt since it is a nice restaurant. My favorite items were the bufala pizza, three chocolate cake and apple tart. The pizza is a must try because their crust is thin, crispy and topped it with fresh mozzarella and fresh basil. It was delicious and if I could eat more, I would have ordered a second one! The three chocolate cake was a stand out because it wasn't overly sweet and it was airy. It's not your average chocolate cake so order it. Compared to the cake, the apple tart was sweeter. It was a pretty dessert. They layered thinly sliced apples over a sweet flaky crust and topped it with pistachio ice cream. This dessert is great for sharing. I had a table that was in front of the kitchen so it was really cool to be able to see the chefs prepare the food. The staffs were friendly and they all speak English. They were very efficient on clearing off the plates when we finished a dish. Before we got our bill, the GM came over to ask us if we enjoyed our meal. That's a nice touch because I normally don't get that kind of thing in the states. Overall, I had a great meal and it came out to about $400 per person so that was reasonable. If I do visit Hong Kong again in the future, this restaurant will be on my list.

As I look up the website, I see that it was awarded a Michelin star for two-three years in a row, a couple of years back. Just a few days ago, I had pesto, so I didn't go for the pasta but the eggplant parmesan again. And I must say I wasn't very impressed. When I think of eggplant parmesan, I think something a bit breaded, a bit crusty, very chunky tomato sauce-y. This wasn't breaded. It wasn't crusty. Wasn't very sauce-y but not dry. I think eggplant lasagna might be a better way to describe this, to avoid disappointment on not getting the eggplant parmesan. It was very neatly presented, neatly portioned to be able to cut out slices. The taste wasn't bad and it tasted better at home later that evening, as I took my leftovers to go. The house breads were good. I was too chatty to get a picture of my Long Island Iced Tea. The space was quite big and the menu, overall extensive. I may stop here for another bite someday. Pesto something, I'd guess. More photos and details on the blog - thevegetarianvoyager

Finally, I tried it and must admit, it was really tasty pizza. I would argue possibly the best in HK, except for the NYC style at Linguini Fini. The crust was damn near perfect: slightly crispy on the outside and light on the inside without being too chewy. We split a half mushroom and caramelized onion and half margarita. The hint of sweetness of the caramelized onions was nice even though I usually prefer fresh onions instead. Even the margarita was surprisingly good. Already looking forward to my next visit - definitely my new place to satisfy any pizza craving!

The lunch specials are a decent deal, pizzas ranging from 60-70 HKD including a free soft drink! The pizza itself was pretty small--I'm glad that I ordered a small side salad otherwise it wouldn't have been enough. I also opted for a pizza special - the caprese. It was literally just a flatbread with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and balsamic drizzle. It wasn't really a pizza in the traditional sense - I was hoping for a tomato sauce base. But it was tasty enough. I asked about a special and the waiter didn't seem to know what came on the Mediterranean pizza, and seemed perplexed as to why I was asking...Other than that the service was relatively attentive. Overall a good value and a relatively quiet lunch option in the western part of central.

However, for folks living in Hong Kong who are too desperate to care, it has become a de-facto option, which is made easier by virtue of being a local chain. I have been on both ends of this spectrum and I still cringe at the thought of settling for any of their pies, let alone a slice. Out of all the locations, this Paisano's stands out for being open late and having prime location along Hollywood Road. Drunken expats are usually in here hamming it up for a slice or two and I am sad to say that I've been amongst this crowd before. There would be lines out of the door on any given weekend late night and a steady flow of peeps chowing away during the day. I give them props for having very large portions. Their large pizza pie (24 inches) is massive, even for American standards. It doesn't come cheap either, which at 230-340HKD (#1) is not exactly a great deal. While the pizza is thin enough to be folded like a true New York slice, the rest of it is a tough sell. It's doughy, laden with a bland sauce, and a kind of greasy cheese that doesn't scream quality at all. It's heavy stuff, which works for the gut bomb that drunkenness can create but is not pleasurable by any means. To add to the mediocrity, I've been disappointed with their subs, which range from 70-85HKD for a 12 inch. Portion wise it's packed, but unfortunately it's less protein and lots of lettuce, tomato, olives, and a slathering of mayo + some house sauce. The calzones don't fare much better, which steeped in cheese but is greasy and still incredibly bland. The late night service is super lackluster and I've found a little more civility in the daytime group. I've learned the brand is popular with the Nepalese community in HK and as a result much of the staff is fluent in Nepali (#2) but not so much in Canto. I can't speak to delivery but I'll pass on Paisano's during my next HK go-around. ___________ (#1) The equivalent of $30-42 USD. (#2) Which is pretty dope.

Out of all the pizzerias in HKG this one was towards the top in terms of taste. We had a soppressata piccante and cremini mushroom along with a meatballs appetizer. The soppressata was my favorite since it combined just enough spice with the savory sausage/tomato. The cremini mushroom was fantastic as well yet a little too sweat for my taste. One thing that could have been improved upon was the wetness of the pizza crust toward the middle. When you have a thin crust pizza it's difficult to have a perfectly dry crust all the way through, especially when tomato sauce is the main component. However, this didn't detract from the taste. The meatballs we ordered came out a bit late so the host was very generous to give us the option of complimentary pizza bread or garlic bread. The garlic bread was perfect for mopping up the tomato sauce from the meatballs! As the night progressed we found ourselves the last ones in the restaurant and got the know the manager better. Before we knew it we were way past closing time exchanging interesting thoughts about HKG, Nepal, and the restaurant ownership group over limoncello liquor. Overall the hospitality, service, and taste of the food was great! Highly recommend if you're looking for pizza in HKG.
