Eggplant parm hot starter

Expensive but worth it: you know you're going to have a very good meal. I'd rather pay a bit more and know I'm going to have a good dining experience rather than having it be a 50/50 like most places in SoHo. I've been a few times for dinner and business lunches. I've never had any complaints about the service or the dishes. Pastas and pizzas are some of the best I've found in HK.

Busy midday Sunday crowd

It was unexpected how good this place was. I have trust issues with mall restaurants. They're usually overpriced and a bit overrated. But somehow, CIAK is the exception to that rule. The pasta was perfect, just the right texture and the bolognese sauce was not too tangy, not bland at all- just perfect. So tasty. We also shared a prosciutto pizza and it was fantastic. We ordered the triple chocolate cake for dessert. Once again, magnificent. As expected, it's a bit expensive, but it's easy to overlook as you finish your highly satisfying meal.

Mushroom Pizza with White Sauce

The pizza is amazing! If you like an artisan style crisp crust then you must check this place out. We had the Mushroom Special and a Pizza Margherita. Carbonara was on point too. Nice selection of wines and all reasonably priced. It's easy to get to in the Landmark building on L3.

This restaurant is an absolute gem! After weeks in Asia my cousins decided to take a break from the local cuisine. We had the pastas for dinner! I went complete Diva and ordered the chefs Black Truffle Carbonara. The truffles were carted out and shaved directly into my plate! Love this establishment, the food, and most importantly the experience!

Service: The restaurant was half empty so you would assume we would get good service. NO. We were seated and then waited, (and waited, and waited) before a server finally stopped and asked for our order. Food: My daughter ordered the Bolognese. Pasta was thick and gummy with a "glop" of ground beef on top. I ordered the margherita pizza. Crust was thin and crispy but the toppings were almost nonexistent. Moved the all the cheese, basil and sauce to one half the pizza. The sauce had NO flavor ...just tomato.

Best pizza ever, you need to get this, Bufala pizza

Me and four of my friends that I just met went here for the "michelen star pizza." And it was pretty darn good. When you're from America, pizza is a staple, which is why like Americans are so fat and stuff. And being an American on holiday, I was craving pizza. Absolutely delicious this place!!! The best pizza was the pizza featured in my picture. The Buffala pizza is what it's called. It looks so simple but it is sooooooo good, by far the best mozzarella I have ever had in my life. The mozzarella was so fresh and soft and I'm not even a cheese guy. I got the margarita pizza and I liked that a lot but if we're talking levels, Bufala pizza is on a whole nother level. I recommend doing what I did and coming with a group of friends. The pizzas are not that big and the dough is thin so it's not hard for one person to eat a whole pizza. Come with friends though and order different pizzas and share and I guarentee the Bufala pizza will be the first one gone. Oh yea, and the pizzas are a little pricey but then again this is a michelen star restaurant. Enjoy

Strongly recommend to order the ham platter, it's a very good deal. Pasta overall not bad. The environment is good for dates. It's a trendy Italian restaurant.

Not sure how this place ever got a Michelin star. OK food. Expensive. Terrible service.

Motorino is hands down my favorite pizza restaurant…read more I've been to multiple locations of Motorino, both in HK and NYC, and it's always consistent. A little expensive for pizza, but since I do not eat it often, I think it's well worth it. The brussel sprout pizza is my favorite, and unique (I've never seen it at another pizza place). I'm also into any pizza with prosciutto now it. Make sure to save room for dessert - the cheesecake is fantastic.

Having been there multiple times, I was a bit surprised when on this recent visit is when they handed us a stamped loyalty card. I asked our sweet server if this was something new and she said no. I asked her why they didn't inform us of that on our previous visits and she, of course, didn't have an answer, but politely mentioned she's seen us before and that's why she gave it to us. The pizzas are good. They've added cocktails recently here, I reckon. Their menu keeps changing. The one time we had antipasti there - smoked eggplant, my jaw was on the floor with the price to portion size proportion, more because the taste disappointed as well. But the good news is that their pizzas don't disappoint. As with other Blacksheep Restaurants, they have the friendliest of staff. Pictures on the blog - thevegetarianvoyager

But Ciao Chow gave me a newfound appreciation for those two dishes. Mind you, the tiramisu here is the absolute best I've tasted in my (then) 24 years of living. I shared it between two other friends, and honestly... that was a terrible decision. I should've just gotten my own. I've been on a mission to find tiramisu just as good ever since then, but to no luck. My friend was adamant about ordering the gnocchi here so I gave in, and thank Buddha that I did. It was better than the other pasta dish (might've been carbonara) that we ordered. The ambiance was also perfect to enjoy some charcuterie with wine. I absolutely loved the open kitchen. Can't wait to come back here again!

Finally, I tried it and must admit, it was really tasty pizza. I would argue possibly the best in HK, except for the NYC style at Linguini Fini. The crust was damn near perfect: slightly crispy on the outside and light on the inside without being too chewy. We split a half mushroom and caramelized onion and half margarita. The hint of sweetness of the caramelized onions was nice even though I usually prefer fresh onions instead. Even the margarita was surprisingly good. Already looking forward to my next visit - definitely my new place to satisfy any pizza craving!

The lunch specials are a decent deal, pizzas ranging from 60-70 HKD including a free soft drink! The pizza itself was pretty small--I'm glad that I ordered a small side salad otherwise it wouldn't have been enough. I also opted for a pizza special - the caprese. It was literally just a flatbread with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and balsamic drizzle. It wasn't really a pizza in the traditional sense - I was hoping for a tomato sauce base. But it was tasty enough. I asked about a special and the waiter didn't seem to know what came on the Mediterranean pizza, and seemed perplexed as to why I was asking...Other than that the service was relatively attentive. Overall a good value and a relatively quiet lunch option in the western part of central.

Paisano's Pizzeria - New York cheesecake...

However, for folks living in Hong Kong who are too desperate to care, it has become a de-facto option, which is made easier by virtue of being a local chain. I have been on both ends of this spectrum and I still cringe at the thought of settling for any of their pies, let alone a slice. Out of all the locations, this Paisano's stands out for being open late and having prime location along Hollywood Road. Drunken expats are usually in here hamming it up for a slice or two and I am sad to say that I've been amongst this crowd before. There would be lines out of the door on any given weekend late night and a steady flow of peeps chowing away during the day. I give them props for having very large portions. Their large pizza pie (24 inches) is massive, even for American standards. It doesn't come cheap either, which at 230-340HKD (#1) is not exactly a great deal. While the pizza is thin enough to be folded like a true New York slice, the rest of it is a tough sell. It's doughy, laden with a bland sauce, and a kind of greasy cheese that doesn't scream quality at all. It's heavy stuff, which works for the gut bomb that drunkenness can create but is not pleasurable by any means. To add to the mediocrity, I've been disappointed with their subs, which range from 70-85HKD for a 12 inch. Portion wise it's packed, but unfortunately it's less protein and lots of lettuce, tomato, olives, and a slathering of mayo + some house sauce. The calzones don't fare much better, which steeped in cheese but is greasy and still incredibly bland. The late night service is super lackluster and I've found a little more civility in the daytime group. I've learned the brand is popular with the Nepalese community in HK and as a result much of the staff is fluent in Nepali (#2) but not so much in Canto. I can't speak to delivery but I'll pass on Paisano's during my next HK go-around. ___________ (#1) The equivalent of $30-42 USD. (#2) Which is pretty dope.

Fantastic European thin crust style pizza in Hong Kong! My brother and I were in HKG for a couple…read moredays and decided to stop by this place. Out of all the pizzerias in HKG this one was towards the top in terms of taste. We had a soppressata piccante and cremini mushroom along with a meatballs appetizer. The soppressata was my favorite since it combined just enough spice with the savory sausage/tomato. The cremini mushroom was fantastic as well yet a little too sweat for my taste. One thing that could have been improved upon was the wetness of the pizza crust toward the middle. When you have a thin crust pizza it's difficult to have a perfectly dry crust all the way through, especially when tomato sauce is the main component. However, this didn't detract from the taste. The meatballs we ordered came out a bit late so the host was very generous to give us the option of complimentary pizza bread or garlic bread. The garlic bread was perfect for mopping up the tomato sauce from the meatballs! As the night progressed we found ourselves the last ones in the restaurant and got the know the manager better. Before we knew it we were way past closing time exchanging interesting thoughts about HKG, Nepal, and the restaurant ownership group over limoncello liquor. Overall the hospitality, service, and taste of the food was great! Highly recommend if you're looking for pizza in HKG.
