I have no idea where Bio pizza comes from, but I am not an Italian speaker, so please forgive any ignorance. Wasn't sure what to expect with the name. Boy, did I underestimate the place I would find! I ordered a couple of classic dishes I was craving: a carbonara pasta and a marinara pizza. Both could not have been better, although the carbonara was absolutely perfect and the winner. Really great service, and a beautiful place. Pretty packed, so I would try for a reservation.

This was easily one of the best things I ate in Italy! The veal was well seasoned, very tender and flavorful. We then came back for their dough less pizzas. My bf got the margherita and I ordered the truffle mushroom white pizza. Both were fantastic! The ambiance was also very inviting and gave us local trattoria vibes. We hope to be back!

Came here with my friend for dinner one early evening during our trip to Italy earlier this year…read more This place happened to be right across the street from where we were staying, and we figured we ought to try it out. The service was friendly, though the workers didn't really know any English and we didn't exactly know any Italian, so it was a little difficult to order what we wanted, though we managed in the end. With that said, since this pizzeria happens to be in a pretty tourist-heavy area, the pizza itself also happened to be kind of bland. It wasn't out right bad, but it was certainly not what either of us had expected our first pizzas in Italy to taste like. My pizza came (the funghi) with mushrooms, while my friend got the brie, with prosciutto and brie. Wines were good, though, and at least the prices weren't exorbitant. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this as the first place you go to for pizza in Milan, but at least it won't break the bank if you do happen to go here.

It's quieter up there with relatively austere surroundings, that do offer a nice view of the station floor. We slected a Pasta in Cream Sauce and Chicken with Mozzarella. The chicken was good, quite good for "train station food". The pasta was unbelievably salty, bad even for train station food! The restaurant looked a little tired and in need of some cleaning and TLC. If we came back to this station, we'd likely opt for a different restaurant if available.

We started walking towards the entrance when a worker saw us and asked how many - we said 2 and were immediately seated at an outdoor table. It wasn't until after we sat and got settled that I noticed a short line on the left hand side of the wall. I felt bad, thinking we had cut a line, but if the worker seated us, I figured maybe those people had larger parties and couldn't be seated? Either way, I guess check to see if there's a line! Really simple menu but we knew what we wanted - a Margherita Pizza and a Tiramisu. They asked if we wanted it to be halved and we were glad they offered it so we wouldn't have to struggle as much! You're given a fork and knife here so we ate with them rather than picking up a slice. Pizza was great, loved the chewy crust that Neopolitan pizzas have. Tiramisu was pretty good too, although definitely had better. They also gave us free meloncello shots at the end which was fun!

Also, there was a bit of a weight when we got there, but it actually grew to almost a dozen people. They see people quickly so the turnover is pretty fast and you don't wait long. Since I was concerned about limited menu, those fears were allayed when the Waiter takes your order - he lets you know about the four or five other ones that are not on the menu that are all sounding great So we picked 'chef special' (they pick for you) and a white pizza. The service was pretty quick, and the pizza comes out right away Obviously with such high turnover, they have figured out the formula for delicious pizza. They nailed the crust as well as all the ingredients. Really delicious. The toilet facilities definitely need a lot of help. That was my only real comment about the atmosphere. It's very basic, you sit at basic tables. They seemed to all be helpful

And we were not disappointed! The food was simple and delicious - we started with a Caprese salad, very nice, followed by bread that was super fresh and a heartier flavor than we had at other restaurants. For entrees we decided on seafood after so many pasta and pizza meals - we tried their grilled tuna and grilled swordfish, and both were outstanding. The tuna had a nice salt/subtle seasoning and was prepared perfectly, seared on the outside and rare on the inside. My wife's swordfish was also nicely prepared, and the portion was huge - twice the amount she expected (see photos)! And the generous portion of veggies were tasty. For dessert my wife had tiramisu and said it was among the best she had on our entire trip (and she had many!). I had a wonderful pistachio dessert with almonds on the outside that was great (forgot the name), but highly recommend it. Service was professional and prompt (no hovering, a pet peeve). As we ate, the restaurant filled with locals who all seemed to know the staff personally, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere with a nice family feel. We walked to the restaurant so I can't comment on parking, but the neighborhood was clean and the restaurant exterior is well-lit. So, if you like excellent food at reasonable prices with great service, try San Mina!
