Ok, I will make a list what is great: - A hip, 'young', yet Italian decoration (with Wi-Fi) - The food is served in a very alternative way. In jars, coloured square plates, beautifully decorated, with quality glasses and cutlery. - The food is clearly freshly made. Even the chocolate in the chocolate biscuit (desert served with vanilla mouse) tasted 'home made'. - The menu lists gluten-free items - The staff is willing to help you with your choice. I don't know much about wine so they suggested one to me. Last night we were there and the waiter knew the name of the wine my girlfriend wanted, before my girlfriend asked for it. - The restaurant has a wine store where the wine bottles on the menu and many more can be bought. The restaurant is also (just) a bar to 'just have a drink' (and a snack). On Sunday afternoon a la carte lunch is replaced by a buffet only (I did not try).

From the outside, the restaurant does not look special.. but it is. This is a restaurant with authentic Italian flair. Family run restaurant, cosy, friendly. There is no menu but the waitress told us what our choices were (in half english and half italian). We loved the food. Really, really nice. Out starter came with freshly baked bread that was still warm. I ended up getting the recipe of one of the dishes after I told the waitress I liked that dish so much. Very kind. The restaurant has some good italian and international beers, sells alcohol free beer, and of course many, many wines. They have gluten free pasta, if you like. While making a photo of the bar I started a friendly and pleasant chat with the bar man. He told me they just installed a new system that keeps the beer fresher and is at the same time more environmentally friendly. He spoke passionately about it. We were there in March, but there is quite a large outside seating area. Both from inside and from the outside seating area there is a nice view of the Villa Dei Vescovi, right next door. The toilets were clean. The restaurant's kitchen was open the whole day when we visited. It was a Sunday. I don't know if that is the case every day.

We were the only ones given a check holder stating that "tip was not included." And then being asked outright what amount to we were giving. For anyone visiting Italy tipping is not expected as service is usually included. Being put on the spot felt awkward and was wrong. And I definitely felt upset that we were being taken advantage of.
