I sampled a slice with proscuitto and some other sort of Italian ham, as well as salsiccia e zucchini (sausage and zucchini). The salsiccia must have been sitting out because it was cold and didn't have any sauce. The proscuitto was much better! So tasty with goeey cheese and hot, fresh, right out of the oven. We dined at a table outside and it was nice to see people coming into town mixed with tourists and college students. If you ever travel to Urbino you definitely need to stop here and try the pizza!

This is a real local tip it's on the main road going from S.Angelo in Vado towards Mercatello sul Metauro. It was really full and I was the only foreigner on the 3 times I went in August. Barbara is a family run 'marchigiano' restaurant and pizzeria specialising in traditional food from Marche, you can even order a day in advance for very special dishes. The menu was in Italian and English which made it easier to order if you're not fluent in Italian. On the first night I had a truffle pasta (8€) the portion was large for a starter and it was amazing. So I decided to go back another time. On the Second night I took the waiter's suggestion and had 'Stinco' (for English speakers it doesn't sound to appetising but it's a pork shank) it was fantastic, and was cooked to perfection. So I decided to come back and try the pizza because it is pizzeria too. On the third night I couldnt decide which pizza i wanted so i ordered the first one on the menu 'Bresco-something' (5€) it had sautéed mushrooms, wow it was great too. So to some up, the food is amazing and the prices are really low for what you are getting. If I'm ever nearby again I know where I'm having dinner.

It was, however, a wrong choice. The place wasn't lacking in customers as it appeared to be the only true casual dining local spot in the small village of Acqualagna. We also noticed after a while that the seating of patrons in the restuarant appeared to be split in the middle-one half for the local teens and families with small kids and the other half of the restaurant for adults. My sister and I were seated in between two large tables of pre-teens. If you're a visitor in Acqualagna, you're there for the truffles. So obviously, we ordered a dish of their highly recommended tagliatelle pasta topped with black truffle. It wasn't good. The pasta noodles were hard almost as if they weren't cooked long enough and the truffle wasn't good either-alike it was old. After only taking a few bites we put in an order for one of their Naples style pizza-the prosciutto crudo pizza. It took a LONG time for the pizza to come out. Tables of locals that ordered after us received their pizzas before us. We were almost about to tell them to cancel the order just when they brought it. The pizza was definitely better than the pasta dish but even it wasn't amazing pizza...and when you're in Italy you should be eating amazing pizza and not wasting your time on mediocre pizza.
