My sister and I were taken here by a local guide after we did a truffle hunting excursion to have a traditional Italian truffle lunch. First off-we were the only visible tourists in the place (always a big plus in my book) and our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. We started with a primi plate that included three pieces of toast all prepared in different ways using black truffle. Polenta with truffle, then a fritatta with truffle, and finally a salsa with black truffle. All three were delicious but the salsa with truffle was out of this world! This was then followed by two pasta dishes. You'll find many restaurants in Acqualagna serving up tagliatelle with truffle but Lampino's has it perfected! To top it all off we had a fabulous bottle of white wine paired with the meal from a local vineyard that was so good I seriously considering buying an additional bottle to take back to the U.S. (darn weight limitations!) We also noticed after a while that the seating of patrons in the restuarant appeared to be split in the middle-one half for the local teens and families with small kids and the other half of the restaurant for adults. My sister and I were seated in between two large tables of pre-teens. If you're a visitor in Acqualagna, you're there for the truffles. So obviously, we ordered a dish of their highly recommended tagliatelle pasta topped with black truffle. It wasn't good. The pasta noodles were hard almost as if they weren't cooked long enough and the truffle wasn't good either-alike it was old. After only taking a few bites we put in an order for one of their Naples style pizza-the prosciutto crudo pizza. It took a LONG time for the pizza to come out. Tables of locals that ordered after us received their pizzas before us. We were almost about to tell them to cancel the order just when they brought it. The pizza was definitely better than the pasta dish but even it wasn't amazing pizza...and when you're in Italy you should be eating amazing pizza and not wasting your time on mediocre pizza. We dined at a table outside and it was nice to see people coming into town mixed with tourists and college students. If you ever travel to Urbino you definitely need to stop here and try the pizza!

We started with a meat plate that contained four different varieties of cured meats from the region. This was tasty and probably my favorite dish of the four courses. Next we had a pasta dish that our waiter said was typical of San Marino. I'm not sure what it was but it was almost like a green ravioli topped with tomatoes that were too fresh. This dish was ok but I didn't end up finishing it. For our main course we had flank steak with potatoes and a small salad. The steak was extremely overcooked (I ordered it medium) giving it a burnt taste and making it very tough to chew. I would have brought this to the attention of my waiter but he vanished after delivering this dish and by the time he returned I needed to leave to make an appointment. The only good thing about that dish were the roasted rosemary potatoes. The fourth course was a small cup of gelato which again, the gelato was just ok. It didn't really have much flavor but I think perhaps it was supposed to be some type of cream flavor. The name means "divine angle" - an allusion to the tucked away location at an angle off of the main street.
