I found out about this place by accident, when I met the owner buying cheese from a local farm I was visiting while on holiday.
This is a real local tip it's on the main road going from S.Angelo in Vado towards Mercatello sul Metauro.
It was really full and I was the only foreigner on the 3 times I went in August.
Barbara is a family run 'marchigiano' restaurant and pizzeria specialising in traditional food from Marche, you can even order a day in advance for very special dishes.
The menu was in Italian and English which made it easier to order if you're not fluent in Italian.
On the first night I had a truffle pasta (8€) the portion was large for a starter and it was amazing. So I decided to go back another time.
On the Second night I took the waiter's suggestion and had 'Stinco' (for English speakers it doesn't sound to appetising but it's a pork shank) it was fantastic, and was cooked to perfection. So I decided to come back and try the pizza because it is pizzeria too.
On the third night I couldnt decide which pizza i wanted so i ordered the first one on the menu 'Bresco-something' (5€) it had sautéed mushrooms, wow it was great too.
So to some up, the food is amazing and the prices are really low for what you are getting.
If I'm ever nearby again I know where I'm having dinner. read more
