The pizza was watery / soggy in the middle. The sauce is ok - it's pretty plain tomato sauce, but then you get stronger bites of italian seasoning as you're eating (making me think - they sprinkle the seasoning separately, rather than have it in the sauce?). The crust is nice and thin, though it's a little like unleavened bread - the heel of the crust really doesn't rise. They don't have a good handle on toppings vs cheese - several times the cheese pulls away from the crust, leaving you with empty crust to eat....also the Italian sausage was loose and falls everywhere. There was also a chunk of bone/tooth in the first pizza (yes, that's an EWW). The delivery guy was cheerful and friendly though. So, I give them a 3/5. I think Supreme 2 for 1 is a better local pizza. Decent value for your money though - 2 larges with 5 toppings for $25, delivered.

So I called to explain my frustration and without hesitation they told me the would give me a full refund if I brought it all the way back there. To my surprise the pizza tasted great. The toppings were fresh, red sauce not too salty and not too sweet, applied in the right amount, cheese had good stretch which means they are using aged mozzarella. The crust was light, crispy, and had a nice brown on it, but a little on the thick side and could use more charring and chew. They baked the pie on a pan rather than on the oven, which is a no no. However, the taste of the pie reminded me of old school pizzas in Toronto. I will definitely come back for more if I am in the area.

I was honestly reluctant to dine here, since pizza normally is my least-desired cuisine, and, with former awful experiences at the restaurant that occupied this space before - I was so meh. Thank goodness I let them convince me otherwise! We were so lucky to snag the last few slices of what we wanted, since there were several big events nearby bringing thousands of people into the area. Literally, five guests after us were dinied slices! I was surprised how perfect the dough was cooked, and I really loved the spicy honey that coated the slices I purchased. Since Cowabunga was known for their "best slice in the world of 2024" I also had to purchase one of those T-shirts to honour the experience. There is a decent amount of indoor seating, but, in summer one should definitely sit outside. Tables move through rotation quickly since slices are most of the appeal, so you should be able to sit somewhere at any time.

The place itself has a take out and dine in area. It was quite busy during lunch hour. So best to avoid the rush if you can. The pizza itself was made from a sourdough, it didn't taste starchy to me. It was really thin and crispy, almost too well done, as it got really dry and cardboard like. We had the margarita pizza and the cowabunga pizza. They were both okay. The cowabunga pizza was too heavy on the gochujang, it was too over powering. The margarita pizza was good, it had spicy pesto on it. Quite cheesy. We couldn't leave without trying out the pizza slice. The crust was better than whole pizzas we got. But it was not overwhelming. The service was good. Our server was pretty attentive when he could. He even gave us a complimented slice.
