This family owned establishment is the best place to get pizza for take-away or delivery in Guelph, bar none. The price may be a little up there, but for what you pay the end result is well worth it. Inspired gourmet creations(try the Picante!), fresh ingredients with a rustic feel, and they have a proper oven(no track)! The tradeoffs for the quality are the aforementioned price and the wait times (which can be a little higher than average due to Trokadero's ubiquity in Guelph homes). Got a large gourmet pizza (prosciutto) for two (~$25 before tax), but it was enough for four people because it was LOADED with cheese (double cheese). I felt stuffed after two slices. Trust me, they do not skimp on cheese. The layer of cheese was four times thicker than the crust. There is no such thing as "too-much-cheese" in my world, but this pizza was on the verge of crossing that line. With that being said, prosciutto was too thick which led to saltiness overload in one bite. It was the first and the last time having prosciutto pizza from here. I would def try out other gourmet pizzas, though. read more

Love love love love this place. I'm not huge on the pizza selection in Guelph (2 for 1, 4 for 1, 20 for 1? How about 1 decent pizza? Who orders pizza in bulk? So many questions.). Anyway, Trokadero has never let me down. It's a little out of the way for pick-up, and there's no space to dine-in, but this place must have a thriving delivery business. Whenever we go in to order, the staff there (including the man I assume to be the owner?) are always very friendly and helpful. The pizza is always cooked perfectly and the breadsticks are some of the best I've ever had. We're a 1/2 vegetarian household and they go out of their way to make sure toppings don't overlap (there's nothing worse than having random meats show up in your pineapple pizza or random pineapples in your meats). In the 10-15 times we've ordered from here, we've never had a bad experience. I wish I could say we've tried more on their menu, but the pizza/breadsticks are just about all we can handle and always worth ordering. Great pizza at a great price! read more

The pizza is really good but could be so much better. It's like their oven isn't hot enough or something as the pizza is really wet in the middle. Great toppings, great crust, and a great price. If they fixed the wet centre issue then this would easily be a 4 star pizza place. read more

We have ordered from Trokaderos over the years. This last Sunday we had a hankering for some pizza and I wanted something more homemade and not the usual chain pizza fare. As usual Trokadero filled the bill. Their "traditional" pizza (i.e. choose your own ingredients) is always great but to me they have long been known for their specialty pizzas. We ordered up a Proscuitto Pizza, De Mateo Pizza, and a Hot Carambita Pizza (sort of a take on a Mexican Pizza). All were great; especially the De Mateo which is usually a staple on our orders. One criticism though; why the deal on a tradtional pizza plus specialty pizza or on three specialty pizzas but not on two specialty pizzas? Trokadero charges more than the typical chain pizza which is reflected in the quality. It is nice that they offer some deals on multiple pizzas which helps to offset the higher pricing and also actually encourages consumers to spend more money. Just seems weird to me to not have an inducement on two specialty pizzas since that is what this place is known for. At any rate the sauce is homemade, the pizzas were perfectly cooked, and they did not cheap out on the ingredients. Again, they charge more; but you get more. Life is too short to eat chain pizza! ;) I used to live in Hamilton and I was spoiled there with the vast array of great Pizza available. Here in Guelph Trokadero is really in a league of their own and in a class on one. There is another place which offers excellent thin crust, authentic Italian style pizza but nobody else in town offers what Trokadero does. We haven't even opened our pizza box yet but so far not a great experience. We called and ordered pickup, they said ready in 25 minutes until our pizza was ready, so we showed up. They said "almost ready", but we ended up waiting another 25 minutes! 50 minutes in total for 2 medium pizzas and no apology. Then when it was ready they simply said "here" and handed us our pizza. Finally, a place to get real, authentic pizza with a generous helping of fresh toppings and a delicious crust like nowhere else I've eaten since I was in my teens decades ago! We live in Rockwood, where we have two pizzerias - and we drive right past them all the way into Guelph to pick up from Trokadero. After tasting Trokadero's pizzas, everything else pizza tastes like cardboard. Even re-heated, their pizza tastes better than a fresh one from the so-called "competition". I have eaten at countless pizza places in the last several years, making it almost an objective to try any new place i come across. No matter the city i am in. We ordered the breadsticks and pizza last night and it easily was probably the best pizza i have had in recent memory. Homemade is the key and why I tried Trokadero pizza . The pizza dough is homemade . Light , soft and not too hard.The toppings are cut fresh ,I ordered pepperoni ,onion and bacon .
