Excellent pizzeria in Quebec City serving authentic yet creative pies in a cozy, welcoming setting…read morewith genuinely pleasant service. We loved the Buffalo Margherita++ and N'duja -- a perfect contrast between a beautifully executed classic and something spicy, sweet, meaty, and packed with flavor. The crust was textbook: light and airy with just the right amount of chew and char. And definitely save room for the house tiramisu. We absolutely devoured it -- creamy, bittersweet, perfectly moist, with just a hint of alcohol. One of the highlights of the meal. They also serve local Quebec wines and were great at recommending pairings to complement our food, which was a really nice touch. Highly recommend Nina for a relaxed, delicious Italian meal in Quebec City.

We decided to grab some pizza on our first night in QC. I've had all kinds of pizza so I knew what…read moreNeapolitan style was. It's a bit too floppy to hold like a tavern style or a NY style. I like to either use a knife and fork or fold it then eat it. It's meant to be soft in the middle (focus is on the flavor) and the crust is supposed to be chewy. Just a little chewy. We ordered the pizza burrata mortadella e pesto and la Barcelona. Both items were excellent. I really enjoyed the pesto, herbs, and mortadella. The Barcelona was equally as good with the chorizo iberico and the manchego cheese. Honesty, this would be a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. However, the service on 9/18/26 after 8:30 pm was very slow. It took her awhile just to come back and take our order (I wanted to place my order ASAP because they close at 10 pm). Then again when we needed a box and our check. I didn't like that our waitress mostly disappeared. I understand this is common among French Canadian and European culture. This is a cultural difference. I'll still give a 4 out of 5.

I found this place from researching the best, authentic, non touristy poutine in QC. This showed…read moreup. Reviews were high on Yelp and Google. It was also a short walk from our Airbnb. We walked in for a late lunch at 2:30 pm. The staff was very welcoming. The restaurant is not big but it wasn't busy at the time. Prices were reasonable. We ordered the most popular poutine, the gaston medium size. It came with minced steak, onions, sausages, cheese curds, fries, and gravy. I had poutine before in Illinois and I thought it was mid, nothing worth going back for. The Canadian version is way better. The cheese curds taste different than the ones in Illinois and Wisconsin. It was soft and went well with the housemade gravy. The meat and onions were fresh. The fries were soft and not too soggy. The flavor of the whole thing was superb. It's weird that the American versions of other countries' food always taste subpar and off.

Chez Gaston is the kind of hidden gem you almost don't want to tell people about. It's tiny--maybe…read moreten seats if you squeeze--but it feels like stepping into a time capsule in the best way. Old‑school charm, family‑run warmth, and a friendly vibe that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. When it gets busy (and it does), it's perfect for takeout. I tried the Trio 3 Combo, and wow. The hot dog comes wrapped in butter‑toasted white bread and topped with creamy coleslaw--simple, nostalgic, and ridiculously satisfying. The small poutine that comes with it is loaded with squeaky cheese curds. Not a sprinkle... a mountain. Then there's the Gaston Poutine. This one is a full meal: heaps of cheese curds, crispy bacon, and ground beef all swimming in rich gravy. Hearty, comforting, and honestly one of the best poutines I've ever had. If you love supporting small, local, family‑owned spots--and you appreciate classic Quebec comfort food done right--Chez Gaston is absolutely worth the stop
