My daughter had been there before, but this was my first visit, and we were both treated very well by the staff, including the Vice President of the Shinnecock Nation, who teased me for comparing their lobster rolls with ones I had tried previously at the original Lobster Roll in Montauk, Lunch in Southampton, and Cousins' Maine Lobster trucks back in Pennsylvania. He said theirs use fresh, not frozen lobster meat and are better. We both got the four ounce "Guppy" served Hamptons style - warm lobster topped with warm butter and chives over a bed of arugula served on a toasted brioche roll that came with a generous portion of classic shoestring fries and a pickle. Our sandwiches and fries were terrific, and I even got to try a Montauk iced tea, a local favorite that has half the sugar of Gold Peak sweet tea and came highly recommended by one of the private chefs in the Hamptons that I follow on social media. When the Board of Health came to our company they shut down the grill and refused to cook food. Because they knew they would fail the inspection because food is stored improperly at the grill. And the Health Inspector informed that they are not supposed to shut down the grill or any other stations while they are there. By 12 pm they run out of a lot of food. I will say a select few of the workers are nice. The others make it seem like you are bothering them if you ask a question or want something cooked at the grill. Some of them barely know how to make an egg sandwich. In the afternoon you can go to buy something and the cashiers are no where to be found. And this is just not from one of my visits but from many. When they first came to my company I thought it was going to be a good change, boy did I think wrong! They only reason why people still buy food there is because we have no choice, they are the only ones there (unless you bring lunch). We hired them for a company party and had many issues with them. We ran out of food. Then things that were agreed to when I booked the party I had to argue with them just to get, I wanted them to hold up to their agreement. Which they did, however we ran out of that food also. Being there first year at my company it was a surprise how mismanaged it was.
