Very disappointing experience I have been coming here for many years and, until today, I have always had a great experience. Unfortunately, today was completely different, and I left extremely disappointed. It started with the salad. The ranch dressing they make in-house tasted like someone had dumped a cup of salt into it. The ranch was so overwhelmingly salty that it completely ruined the salad. Then the mashed potatoes and gravy had a horrible aftertaste as well. At that point, I honestly started wondering if there was an issue in the kitchen or if everything was simply being over-seasoned. I brought my concerns to the manager, Page, expecting that she would at least listen and try to understand what I was experiencing. Instead, her response was simply, "I don't taste salt." Wow. What a shame. I explained my concerns, and rather than asking which food items I was referring to, what I was tasting, or even trying to understand the problem, she walked away without saying anything. Approximately 20 minutes later, she came back and repeated, "I don't taste salt." That was incredibly disappointing. I wasn't asking her to agree with me--I was hoping she would actually listen to a customer's concern and make an effort to address it. Instead, I felt completely dismissed. It is a real shame because I have been a longtime customer and have always enjoyed coming here. Unfortunately, today's experience, both with the food and especially with the way my concerns were handled by management, has completely changed my opinion. If this is how management in Aberdeen chooses to handle customer complaints, I unfortunately won't be returning. Very disappointing experience from start to finish. read more

Yes, stop on in here! Located off 6th Ave SE between S Jackson St and S Congress St. They have a pretty wide variety of food to pick from, but I gotta give a shout out to the chicken and the chocolate chip cookie pizza. These two were the stars today! The chicken was really good and the chocolate chip cookie pizza was super delicious, soft on the inside, and nice and crispy on the outside. I'm not sure what happened to their chicken but it is not great anymore (and it was!). Also the buffet layout has changed and it doesn't work--terrible set up. Lettuce was wet and wilted. Not a great experience. The arcade is kind of cool but very expensive for what you get. read more

Rather disappointed in the food since the change in ownership. The buffet selections have dwindled, the recipe for the chicken must have been changed because the chicken is NOT near as good as it used to be. Oh - and the prices have increased too. This establishment used to be one of my "GO TO" places but due to the changes, especially in the chicken, it has fell from favor at least for me. This is a fried chicken/mashed potatoes and pizza buffet place. It's an odd combination, but it works. They make pizza and have it on the buffet or you can request a specific type. They have a small salad bar as well. Dessert is in the shape of dessert pizzas. The chicken and masked potatoes were very good and the service was attentive. This is the worst Pizza Ranch ever! The staff was very unfriendly. The girl at the register said we had to sit in a certain section "if we didn't mind." My family isn't too picky, so we stepped past the wall and saw the small and crowded section we were told to sit in. We had two tables to chose from, both of which were surrounded by other full tables. The buffet was small to begin with, but, like I said, we aren't too picky. The chicken was cold, dry, and chewy. The potato wedges tasted old as well. The pizza tasted alright, and it was the only warm thing I had on my plate. After 15 minutes of being here, a Pizza Ranch girl asked us if we were done with the buffet. Being unsatisfied but not willing to brave anymore disgusting food, my parents and I said we were done. They immediately took all the food off the buffet. We paid full price for a buffet that was crap and was taken down 15 minutes after we paid. This place sucked. Bad food. Bad service. And I hope we don't get sick from the old, cold food that we ate. The Pizza Ranch in West Point, NE, is amazing. The only problem there is that you have to wait for a table because it's so busy. Love the family friendly atmosphere! My nieces and nephews love going to Pizza Ranch so plenty of family birthday celebrations have taken place here and the friendly staff always take care of us. As far as the food, the chicken is my favorite but that's not to discredit the delicious pizza. I'm also able to say I've never seen a suspicious salad bar at the buffet,which I have come across plenty at other establishments. I'm glad we have this establishment to go to with the family. Newly renovated Pizza Ranch. Salad Bar, Chicken, and Pizza's are all up to expectations. They do have a number of large areas for seating so don't be worried if the parking lot is full. Staff does a great job of assisting customers and getting items you want made and delivered to the table. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My husband made reservations for their back room a month and a half ago for our daughter's first birthday party. We had about 20 adult guests coming from out of town and thought this would be a good spot to host everyone. When we made the reservation, they assured us the room would be ready at 1:00pm. They also told us they had a fridge where we could store our cake until we were ready for it. We knew we would need to purchase a buffet for everyone, but were happy to since we could decorate the room, everyone would have something to eat and we wouldn't have too much to clean up. On the morning of her birthday, we called to double check on the room reservation and to find out how we should go about paying for everyone. We were again told the room was ours, that it would be ready at 1:00pm and that they would count the cups we used so that we knew how many people to pay for. We showed up at 12:55 and the place was full. I could see from the entry that both party rooms were full of people. I spoke to the girl working and she said they don't have room for us. She said we could ask people to move and use part of a room but that we couldn't use the whole room or keep it separate for our party. I asked to speak to a manager. The owner then came out from the back. He took his time, looking all around, talking to other people and checking a book before finally coming over to me. I explained that we had a reservation, that we had 20 adults coming, and that it was my daughter's first birthday. He told me that there was no way we had a reservation, that they don't do that on Sunday. I told him that we had reserved a month and a half ago, and that we called to confirm that morning. Again, he just said that we could wait and maybe some people would leave and we could push some tables together. I was livid. I told him no, that this was unacceptable and turned around and walked out. My husband then came in (he had been gathering decorations and gifts from the car). He again asked about our reservation. The girl showed him the book that even had our name written on it saying we had a reservation. The owner never came back to talk to him. At this point, we had to call all of our guests and tell them not to come. This place literally ruined my daughter's first birthday. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!! We will be sure to let everyone we know how horrendous this was and how poorly we were treated. read more

Yesterday was our first time in Aberdeen. When looking a place for lunch, we were happy to see a Pizza Ranch and pulled right in. I don't know if we hit an off day or what, but the buffet was not a good as expected. When we went to the buffets, there was no chicken, no biscuits, but there was gravy, and only several old pieces of pizza. I waited quite some time for any other pizzas to come out and the two that did were pork. Unfortunately I don't like pork so I continued to wait but no more pizzas came out, so I ordered a pizza. After waiting a very long time for this pizza, I finally went to get a salad. When I got back to the table, the pizza had been brought to the table. By the time I started eating, my sister and niece were nearly done. In addition, the dessert pizza was cold despite being just brought out. I guess I'm used to the great buffet at the Tea and Sioux Falls Pizza Ranches. This was incredibly disappointing. read more

This rating is based on the atmosphere and customer service we received upon walking through the door. Never before have we been here so we were unfamiliar with the hours of the buffet. The door said buffet starts at 11am with no end time so we assumed everything was normal. Upon walking in, we were not greeted by anyone. The cook/bus guy was out unloading the food, but did not say a word to us or reassure us that someone would be with us momentarily. After a couple minutes went by, a woman who we assumed was the hostess, showed up and proceeded to tell us in a hard to understand accent, that the buffet was not available until 4:30. We were there at 2:30. I have worked in the restaurant business most of my life, and never have I felt more unwelcome. Needless to say, we will never pay to eat in a place like this. Hopefully this was a fluke incident because if this restaurant has anything to pride on, it's not at all what we experienced. read more
