It is a large, very beautiful restaurant. We were visiting Warsaw and we love Italian food so we…read morechose Papa Vino's for an early Saturday's dinner. Dinner started with a loaf of warm bread served with a small plate of.olive oil seasoned with small bits of crunchy garlic, oregano and black pepper. Top notch. One thing I noticed is that every dish that the servers brought out to the diners was smoking hot. Every single dish. No way was anyone's food sitting under a heat lamp. As an appetizer, I ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms. Three very large mushrooms. I didn't taste much crabmeat. I would order a different appetizer next time. Our entrees were the Chicken Bacon Ranch flatbread and the Eggplant Parmesan with a side of spaghetti The spaghetti sauce was very bright and fresh tasting. Based on the little bit I tasted of my husband's dinner, next.time I will order Spaghetti and Meatballs. We had enough leftovers to bring home another night's dinner.

Frank Sinatra is singing in the background and other Jazz music is playing. I actually ordered the exact same thing that I ordered a year ago when coming through this area I love the Tuscan salad with Papa dressing. My husband ordered the baked penne. We ordered a piece of the chocolate cake to go. I also bought a bottle of their house dressing. I definitely recommend this restaurant when in Indiana.

The wild salmon was a big portion. I had it with risotto, but spaghetti marinara was a choice, too. I didn't want red sauce with salmon. The salmon was a bit dry. Risotto was flavorful and soft. We both had an interesting assortment of roasted vegetables. Hubby enjoyed his lasagna. We also got a basket of crispy Italian bread and a plate of olive oil with a sprinkle of basil in it. Too full for dessert!

The owner has a farm and uses a lot of the produce she grows herself for the freshest ingredients. The variety on the menu is fabulous as well. They always have exceptional daily specials. It's always so hard to decide what to order! The negative is that it is only open for dinners on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. They used to be open more than than as well as for lunch (they had a fantastic lunch menu!) so that's a disappointment. The place is also clean, but I would like to see them replace their tables and chairs. The chairs are old and you sink down so low. The tables don't have a smooth surface and crumb debris gets caught. This is the only authentic, quality Italian place in town so I hope it sticks around for a long time! With her decreasing the hours from what she had before, I worry she'll eventually close. It would be a huge loss to the community if it did.

One thing to note; there's only one unisex bathroom on the first floor, which wasn't quite enough for the number of guests that day. There is another restroom upstairs, but it may not be ideal for those with mobility concerns. The wait staff were friendly, attentive, and happy to answer our questions since it was our first time dining here. The owner also made a point to visit every table, which added a warm, personal touch. The food truly stood out; comforting Italian dishes that reminded us of meals we enjoyed in Italy. Portions were just right, with a great balance of pasta and ingredients. The stuffed eggplant was a highlight; perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. The Pizza Bianco was another favorite, generously topped with artichoke hearts. A few minor notes: the calamari was slightly overcooked, and while the Shrimp Scampi with Capellini Aglio Olio was flavorful and well-seasoned, the pasta was a bit on the dry side for my preference. Some of the shrimp were slightly overcooked as well, but it didn't take away from the overall taste as it was still very enjoyable. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience. We'd definitely recommend this spot and look forward to coming back the next time we're in the area.
