I tried 3 different kinds and I would get them all again in a heartbeat! Next time I want to try a specialty pizza! The salad also was very fresh.

The menu had no descriptions for pizzas so we had to listen to the server go through a dozen pizza details. Even the size was not listed but it seems a personal size was available but not on the menu and the waitress didn't give a price just "you might as well get the regular size". The plastic cups that our drinks came in overly worn and gross. Breadsticks (just okay) and garlic bread (good) arrived but no individual plates. Eventually the waitress arrived a to asked if we wanted plates and only brought back 3 plates for 4 people while telling us she would bring another. Another waitress final brought us 5 more plates which we didn't need all of. The waitress forgot the mix drink order and had to be reminded. The pizza was good. The fettuccine was okay. The spaghetti and meatballs was horrible, SWIMMING in bland sauce with 2 large equally bland meatballs. I ate a few bites and about a quarter of a meatball before giving up. Drink refills were asked for. I pushed the dish to the edge of the table. After quite a while the waitress came back was told she could remove the dish. She asked why and was told it was it was horrible and bland. She took it away no other comment. After being reminded for the refill, it arrived. When management arrived at the end the meal, she was asked to have the spaghetti removed from the bill. We were informed that they didn't do that, only remake the dish. She didn't seem to know how to respond when asking if everything was okay and received a no answer. WHY do people ask that when they don't know how to properly respond?? After consulting other management, 50% of the spaghetti was removed and my daughter received a lecture on how to better handle their bad food and service in the future, EVER THOUGH THEIR WAITRESS DID KNOW THEIR POLICY. We did get a card for free HALF order of just average breadsticks on our next visit. (We won't be taking them up on that less than generous offer.) A 12" pizza, fettuccine with shrimp, spaghetti and meatball and okay bread was $100, but it did included mediocre service and a lecture. Oh... and I was told I wrong about the spaghetti because another patron complemented the spaghetti so it could NOT be the food. Highly DO NOT recommend Wise Guys!! Go somewhere else that will appreciate it's customers.

There were five waitstaff serving four occupied tables, in a good size room; that was my first clue…read morethat this may not be a great dining experience. Our waitress was cheerful as she extolled the history and reputation of this "authentic" Italian eatery. Menu was standard Italian fare, moderately priced, with lunch specials. After ordering, I waited for bread or breadsticks to appear; they never did. Lunch arrived, but no one offered fresh, or even old, Parmesan cheese. Again no bread. Servings were huge, the only positive thing I could say about the meal. Alfredo sauce on the pasta was totally tasteless, like wallpaper paste. Stromboli shell was not crispy, as it should be, and there was no sauce inside (not unusual), but there was excessive moisture from the vegetable filling, which made the crust soggy. Other than the staff, there was nothing appealing or memorable about this restaurant, and based upon my extensive experience and knowledge of Italian cuisine, there is little authentic about it.

I had the backed manicotti with cheese and herbs, and it was excellent. Servings were large, enough for two to share or two meals. My friend enjoyed spaghetti with marina sauce and meatballs. I will definitely return to try some other entrées, and would like to dine in next time as the restaurant was attractive and comfortable.

It's located in a strip mall that looks a bit run down. But once you enter the outside door, everything changes. This location has a more intimate vibe to it. Lower lighting and a quieter mood. We were seated in the bar area but it was quiet since it was middle of the day and the bar was empty. Our server, Linda, did something I've never had happen before. She asked our names and proceeded to address us by them the entire visit. She had a great personality and made for a great experience. I'm a huge Mama Daphne fan as is my husband. But we wanted something different. We ordered bosco sticks for the app and husband ordered the spicy Italian meat calzone and I opted for the Papa Petro, a flatbread sandwich with pesto mayo and several Italian meats. We were impressed with both but the Papa Petro won out. Very tasty. Mama Daphne has some competition now. This location is the only location that doesn't serve pizza. They defer to the Marco's pizza location two doors down. So if you want pizza at Salvatori's, skip this location. Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend! Will be back!

Boathouse Restaurant (Winona Lake) - climate controlled patio dinning with relaxing lake front…read moreviews I'm always interested in dinning & relaxing at a restaurant with good lake front views. The Boathouse Restaurant in Winona Lake has good food and a nice view of...Winona Lake. You can find them about 45 minutes west (driving highway 30) of Fort Wayne near Grace College (see map). The restaurant is set right on the lake. It is also nestled by some cute shops (The Village at Winona) for pre or post dinner browsing. The Boathouse Restaurant's lake views come in a covered patio (see picture). You are right on the lake. All diners can see the water from their table. The patio is enclosed much like a four season room. You can catch the breeze off the water when the windows are open. Or you can shut the windows and pull the shades if the temperature and sun light isn't to your liking. I'm sure this would still be a great view in the cooler fall and spring seasons. The Boathouse is a large restaurant. However, I would encourage reservations via their web site. You can reserve the patio, bar or main dinning areas. The facility is nicely decorated in that boat theme. Lots of attractive hardwoods and lake colors. We found the restaurant to be very comfortable and relaxing. The menu is very large - something for everyone (see menus). Chicken, steak, pasta, salads, wraps, bowls, burgers, seafood - they have it. Prices are reasonable (steak $30+, chicken $23+, burgers $16+). We have been here a couple times. Each time the food was delicious and the service was what you would expect. Here is a run down on the items we ordered: -Table Bread: multigrain bread, served warm and soft, easily pulled apart; nice soft creamy butter accompaniment -Side Salad: simple salad, smaller in size; very fresh with a few side veggies (cucumbers, tomatoes, onion and shredded Parmesan cheese; crunchy croutons; homemade 1000 Island dressing was thick with a smooth taste -Burrito Bowl: my wife loved the fresh lettuce and peppers; chicken was nicely grilled, moist and slightly seasoned; rice was perfectly cooked with a firm consistency -Tenderloin (special menu item): outstanding! Very moist and tender, slightly thicker steak; thin batter with a slight crisp and hint of oil; grilled onions were a nice but unusual add; bun was slightly grilled, buttered and soft -Macaroni salad: mayo base that tended to be a bit heavy; nicely cooked noodles; added small pieces of celery, onion and green pepper; nice adder to the sandwich If you like lake views and relaxing dinning...make the drive to the Boathouse Restaurant. Also make sure you get there before 6p so you can enjoy the shopping village that is near the restaurant. And...take a long walk down the channel to see the big lake.

The food was outstanding, I ordered Linguine Frutti di Mare- homemade linguine ( delicious) served with clams, mussels, scallops? Shrimp, cherry tomatoes, evoo, garluc, parsley cooked in a white wine sauce!!! As you can see I absolutely hated it... lol! I has an expression and lava cake for dessert. The lava cake was a little overcooked- that is the only complaint.... Other than the lady sitting across the table from me that talked loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear her conversation. I wish people would be more observant and realize they don't have to talk so loud when they're sitting at their table it made it difficult to hear the piano player and it went from a relaxing stress free feeling to an annoyance. I was so happy when her food arrived. This place is very special. It's very small. I got in because it was very early in the evening. I believe their doors open at 5 o'clock. I would highly recommend reservations, but if you have a special occasion that you're celebrating, and it appeared that several people did this is worth the drive!

The rest of the meal was outstanding including the calamari/shrimp appetizer, Caesar salad, and the caprese salad. We already talked about going back to try other main courses. They had 3 options for nonalcoholic mocktails/drinks so that would be an improvement they could make especially for the non drinkers that would still like a NA wine pairing with a nice Italian dinner. You can bring your own with a $15 corking fee. The ambience was relaxing and romantic. They had orchestral music of popular songs so it was fun guessing what songs they were. There was a piano in the center of the restaurant and the mood lighting made the place seem even more cozy.
