So we just stopped going in and would order for pick-up before making the 30 minute drive to get it. About 6 months ago, one of my kids insisted on eating inside the restaurant. I was shocked to see a full staff and the server was attentive and the pizza was delicious. I was so surprised that it tasted like the Pizza Hut pizza I enjoyed so much when I was a kid, 400 miles away. Overall, I give it a 4-star rating. The server we usually have is great but some of the other staff I've encountered aren't as friendly.

If someone is ordering a pizza from someplace, and someone else wants wings with it, then we get them from Lawrence Ks Wing Co. It's just how it is. I have no idea what the place looks like. I've never been to the store personally. I have no idea if the staff is friendly and helpful. I've only ordered online. The only thing I know is that if I want some wings, then they are the go to source... ...unless it's outside their business hours - for instance right now as I write this at lunchtime on a Thursday... dang it! Apparently they are too good for lunch. Most of the time, the wings are perfect. The only complaint we have ever had was once they were a bit dry/overcooked. But we ate them anyway. So yeah. This tiny postage stamp of a kitchen is tucked inside the dive bar Lucia downtown on the east side of the street between 10th and 11th. Not particularly a hopping kind of bar, but has a somewhat active live music scene that occurs mostly between Thursday and Saturday nights. So if you're going to base your entire business on one product, you'd better be on your A game all the time, because there's plenty of competition in this college town. These folks are ON it. Mission accomplished. Split a dozen boneless wings, crunch Thai with a friend. Couldn't believe it. An hour or so later I ordered another dozen. Both times we were told "we'll have it in the window in 6 minutes." And, you guessed it, 6 minutes later there they were, with ranch and blue cheese dipping sauces and plenty of napkins. How good are they? If you're calling in delivery (which I observed) or carry-out from that place with the Buffalo logo, please... just stop and reward yourself properly. Now I'm finding out they open specifically for KU basketball games. Talk about the perfect place to watch, because there's lots of space, there's an outdoor area if you wish to escape the dive bar part (which is kind of cool, actually), and plenty of TV screens. Good line-up of beer, full bar, world class wings. What's to not like? So good we plan to make it a destination for dinner this week. You'd walk by the tiny window they have on the street and never give it a second thought, like I did many times. Time to rectify that. These folks deserve our collective business.

Joyce and Brandy laid it out well, so I'll just echo some main points: - The food could be better. Apparently it has been before. What I saw felt pretty low effort, the crispiness wasn't there. (South) Korean Fried Chicken is amazing because even with those delicious sauces, the chicken stays crispy. Best of both worlds! These wings were soggy. I didn't feel great after eating the meal. It wasn't ideal. - The service was nonexistent. I came up to the human at the counter, who directed me not to talk to her but to put in my order on the screen to the side. I hate these. I hate them so much. The UX on the terminal was clunky, the navigation in particular was so bad that there were whole sections of the menu that seemed to be missing. I now know to swipe left on the headers to scroll right to a second page of root-level categories, but be honest, just reading that in a sentence is confusing and annoying. Some people may like kiosks. That's fine! But mandating them is awkward and obnoxious. - I'm still on the service. There's a big menu. There are paper menus. There are little signs advertising fun looking items. I already know what I want. It is so much easier and more enjoyable to order with a real human and get their help. Why put the added friction of learning a clunky interface? An employee would be fluent in the system even if it's bad. And if my case is any indication, it's not helping their sales. I would totally have ordered more dishes if I'd known that was an option. It just looked like they were out so it wasn't available. - After putting in the order, I was prompted for a tip for the service. Which just felt like a coup de grace to my psyche. - It felt like there was no heart here. That's probably an ownership issue. I'm sympathetic to a point, it's not easy in general and there's a lot of pressure to cut costs (especially with the tariff arsonist disrupting supply chains). But the vibe here was dismal, you could feel it in the food and the staff. The space itself seems set up well to have large groups and good times. Could be a fun spot. But right now, the impression I get is that aside from the wings the kitchen does a lot of prepackaged instant food. So I'm not sure what they're trying to be - a decent wing place, or more of a fast-food/gas station type of spot. A vending machine with a deep fryer. Like I said before, this place has potential to be great if they can change some things. They're just going to have to want to. I'm rooting for them.
