I like to think of my father as something of a gastronomic connoisseur, so I can imagine his disappointment when I would insist on going to Pizza Hut every time he came to visit. That said, he always managed to find something to eat that pleased his taste buds, and even now, nine or ten years later, we might still be found in a Pizza Hut 'for old time's sake'. Because the truth is, gastronomic connoisseur or not, Pizza Hut can definitely cater to anyone who is a self-proclaimed 'foodie' aka food lover extraordinaire. Pizza Hut has expanded so much since I started dining there when I was but a wee kid. Horizons have broadened beyond the typical pizza, garlic bread and ice cream factory. Oh yes. Now the menu is filled with exciting toppings, different bases, different crusts, pasta and salads with a decent selection of desserts to boot. AND these are all available for take-away, including the salad bar. So lick your lips and get stuck in. I'm a big fan of the salad bar, and was heartily upset when it was taken off the starter menu, and placed onto the main course menu at a higher price. However, Pizza Hut have redeemed themselves in my esteem, with their new offer: unlimited salad free with ANY main course. Phwoar that makes me a very happy diner indeed. Further money-friendly offers include the weekday buffet, available until 3pm, where you can fill your belly with as much pizza, pasta and salad as you like for £6.99 adult or £3.99 child. Plus, on weekdays between 3pm and 5pm it is Happy Hour, which is even more bargainous still. Choose between pizza and pasta, then accompany it with salad, a side dish and a drink, all for £5 - positively mouth watering. For those low on cash Pizza Hut is a fantastic fail-safe which allows you to have a tasty meal out, without damage to your wallet. And that's why I keep going back. Furthermore, it's incredibly family friendly with great options for the kids too. So having said all that, I feel a bit cruel giving this Telford branch just three stars. But the reality is, despite all the offers and the brilliant menu, I'm just not sure this branch is up to scratch. I'm not sure if I've just been unlucky to go when they're understaffed, or whether they need to put more staff on at peak times, but it can be very difficult to get service here sometimes. I remember once...I had been seated for over half an hour before someone even took my drink order. Plus there always seems to be at least one toilet in the ladies which is out of order - is it really that difficult to keep three toilets up and running? Apparently so. However there is ample parking space here, and the staff turn out to be very helpful and friendly once they actually have time to get to you. read more

Recently refurbished with much improved decor. Can be a bit chilly so beware as the air conditioning is a bit tempermental. , and you often have to wait ages for a table even though the place is half empty. The food is often cold because the staff prefer to stand around talking rather than bringing it to you. Avoid the pasta because it doesn't taste too good after it has been hanging around for 20 minutes! Also avoid the salad bar, children put their hands into it rather than use the tongs! Not a place to go if you want a quiet meal, they often have large parties in and the noise levels go through the roof. There are often very naughty children in there, running around and screaming, although that has to be the fault of the parents for not keeping them in check. It's worth asking for a table in a quieter corner. read more

Pizza hut in telford has had a recent face lift & also seems to have improved their customer service. The buffet meal is well worth going for & is an absolute bargain. This is not the place to go for a peaceful meal, as the place can get very busy your normally shown to a table very near other diners, even when the place is almost empty. read more

i love this pizza hut, its in an ideal location for when you need a break from the shops. the menu is always good and the staff are friendly as well as polite and helpfull which i find important when your eating out. it has large resturant space so alwas plenty of seating and its always clean read more

It promises all, but delivers very little. If this can be marketed as Italian food, most Mammas and Pappas in the old country would turn in their graves. Please people - don't be deceived - you are simply buying into the idealistic adverts on TV which show beautiful, colourful food and lots of happy faces from the people that are eating it - a marketing buff if ever I've seen one. In reality, you get greasy, sloppy pizza, with a side helping of dry salad in a specially designed bowl to prevent you from taking too much of it. Oh, and the one in Telford isn't very well organised. If you really want American pizzas, stay at home and order a Dominos - it'll cost you the same, taste better and you won't have to endure shoddy service from some pimply student who obviously wants to be there even less than you do. read more

Having seen the advertisements (who says they never work) on television showing sumptuous bowls of pasta Myself and friend visited for a rare treat out. I know a little about pasta and was looking forward to trying somthing that I hadn't cooked at home. We arrived at 6.45 pm, and saw nine unoccupied tables. We went to walk in only to be told to stand in the very pokey vestibule, and look at the menus, while a table was cleared. At 7 O'clock, freezing cold, we were taken to a table and our order taken. Looking round we could see that the place was filthy. The floor looked as though there had been a rugby scrum. There were still eight table which hadn't been cleared. Our drinks came, then our starter and while still eating our starter out came the pasta. I brushed aside the unripe tomatoes in the starter and looked at the pasta. On three separate occasions I asked if there was a mistake. The amount wasn't sufficient for a child. Twenty one strips of pasta, a teaspoon of tomato sauce and eight tiny meat balls. I was assured that was a correct sized portion. To avoid looking greedy I split the serving into four to eat in four small mouthfuls. Then I had the awful sensation of a cold meal. I stood-up and insisted that a thermometer be inserted into the cold meatball to ensure it was up to the correct temparature. Needless to say it wasn't. I then decided I would offer to pay for the drinks, and leave. This was agreed by the manager. I queried why with eight staff there was no system to cope. he made various excuses none of which held water. Before leaving I comiserated with the couple and their two small children at our adjoining table who hadn't been served any food in the forty minutes we had been there. And to another family on an adjoining table whose food also was cold. My parting shot was to offer advice to the manager. Shut-down for 48 hours, spring clean the restaurant and retrain the staff. when i dine in I have no problems at all,but ordering a takeaway is a different matter, frequently have to wait longer than is advised on the phone,orders are sometimes wrong,and if i have ordered on line useing a code sent to me by pizza hut it has been wrong everytime,even to the point of being offered compensation twice,so eat in is great,takeaway not so good. read more

Love it! the staff are always polite friendly and willing to help. The food is always of a great standard, hot and speedy. My only draw back is the restaurant is very 'child friendly', if your out for a quieter experience then visit after 8 when the atmosphere is far more relaxed. Oh and dont stay over three hours as the car park has a limited stay. read more

Took my daughter and her friends here for a birthday treat. After the meal the kids wanted ice cream. When we got it out of the self serve machine we quickly noticed something was wrong, it was mushy and watery and turned to liquid with about a minute. Kids were really disappointed. We were told to try again later as the machine had apparently just be filled up again. We couldn't try again as the kids parents were collecting them so the kids left really disappointed. When we went to settle the bill the waitress tried to charge me for the ice cream, I told her I wasn't happy to pay for it as it wasn't edible. After some discussion I ended up being charged an amount for the ice cream toppings ie smarties etc which i was told that some of the kids had eaten. I left disappointed and pretty disgusted. Poor customer service by the manager who charged for it. Won't be going Back again, can't believe they feel that it is acceptable to charge for food that is not even edible. Avoid, avoid, avoid. There's lots of restaurants in Telford, no one has to go to somewhere with such disgusting customer service. read more
