A decent Pizza Express location in Shrewsbury town centre, it didn't seem too busy when I visited as it was just after the typical midweek lunch rush. I ordered a gluten-free Pollo Ad Astra pizza, it did taste pretty good and I liked the combination of the chicken with the sweet peppers, adding a slight spicy kick with sweetness, so it tasted good. For some reason, the edges of the pizza seemed cold and lacked toppings, but the main part of the pizza and the good majority of it was fine. I would have liked the onions consistently one size, there were tiny strands of onions and larger chunks on the pizza. Service was a little slow, the staff did seem friendly when they were with me though, I did find the wait to get my bill a little frustrating as I hate hanging around restaurants after I finish eating, especially when dining alone. After taking my order, the staff member said "one moment" and walked off to the kitchen, she didn't explain her absence either, this has never happened to me in a restaurant before, it just seemed strange especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. 3* - Pretty decent for a chain Italian, nothing too special or exciting but certainly did do the job and fill me on my trip to Shrewsbury and I would consider returning. read more

I have never eaten at a pizza express before and I'm not a fan of spicy food either .. I was quite surprised at the menu I felt for a pizza restaurant they don't really have a wide range of choices .. I would have loved to have a bbq base with chicken and sweet corn but there was nothing on the menu like that so I had to get a boring margarita pizza which I could have got anywhere .. The staff here were really nice !! Nothing bad about them at all they were amazing. starters: I had the pizza Express dough balls with the garlic butter, the dough balls were really good although the butter was just regular butter, my boyfriend had the garlic bread with mozzarella which was AMAZING!! Mozzarella pizza: nice .. would have been better if they had garlic dip, instead of regular butter? Pollo forza pizza: my boyfriend said his was good, very tasty he really enjoyed it, Both pizzas were very big !! Came with a pizza cutter which is more than what you get at some other places The restaurant in Shrewsbury was really nice, clean tidy, good music So the only thing that let this meal down was the menu to be honest I need my bbq meat feast .. get on it pizza Express :) :) read more

One of the healthiest pizza places around apparently. Feels more 'grown up' than the likes of pizza hut and co and has a selection of pastas and salads as well as the obvious pizzas. However, expect a long wait to be seated, unfriendly and unhelpful staff. When visiting recently my side salad was served after we had had our mains for 40 mins with no word of apology after enquiry. (This was after waiting an hour from entry to food getting delivered on a booked table with pre-ordered food) Would not recommend or visit again read more

Housed in a former cinema Pizza Express in Shrewsbury combines friendly staff, really nice interior with very well cooked pizzas. There is not much else to say as it is part of a chain but if you are after a decent, relaxed dining experience then you can't go far wrong. read more

Pizza Express is located in Mardol Shrewsbury, in part of the former Cinema. Pizza Express, is the top of the range of Pizza restaurants, and as so the food is slightly more expensive than other restaurants, but then this is reflected in the quality. The food is freshly prepared for you is of the top quality. The drinks menu is good, with a wide selection of drinks available. I would highly recommend the location. read more

Great food at a great price, this stylish restaurant is located in the old Cinema down Mardol (West end of Shrewsbury). They have a full range of pizza's plus the option to DIY on topping etc. As well as pizzas they serve salads and pasta dishes. The puddings dish is also great, a big range of unhealthy treats to compensate for the salad. :-) read more

Reliably good food and service. We've always found the staff v helpful especially when eating with children. Salad dressings can be a bit overwhelming, but they will also serve it on the side if you ask. Worth looking for vouchers online as you can often pick up special offers. read more
