They also use fresh ingredients and that, plus the wood-fired taste, which is genuinely different and a cut above anything else I have experienced, makes all the difference. I reckon that for most people, once you try this, you won't want to go anywhere else for a takeaway pizza. I am told that they will have a new menu and some new sizes coming very soon and they have just started doing pizza slices for £2 a go at lunchtime. They will also deliver to offices and the like, so if you need a way to perk up a long boring meeting (is there any other kind?) or reward the team for a hard week's work, this might be a good option.

I was lucky enough to go back at Christmas and get delivery to my friends house. I'd forgotten how good it was! Perfect gooey dough, great toppings and yummy pizza crusts. The pizzas are yum, they're well priced and pretty cheap. They're right by the train station, and the local cab rank - meaning that after the pubs kick everyone out there's a huge queue of people not sure if they're getting a cab or a pizza. It can get a bit messy, but it's really fantastic food and it's a lovely bit of nostalgia in a pizza box. If you're out in the town, go. Go now.

I ordered a gluten-free Pollo Ad Astra pizza, it did taste pretty good and I liked the combination of the chicken with the sweet peppers, adding a slight spicy kick with sweetness, so it tasted good. For some reason, the edges of the pizza seemed cold and lacked toppings, but the main part of the pizza and the good majority of it was fine. I would have liked the onions consistently one size, there were tiny strands of onions and larger chunks on the pizza. Service was a little slow, the staff did seem friendly when they were with me though, I did find the wait to get my bill a little frustrating as I hate hanging around restaurants after I finish eating, especially when dining alone. After taking my order, the staff member said "one moment" and walked off to the kitchen, she didn't explain her absence either, this has never happened to me in a restaurant before, it just seemed strange especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. 3* - Pretty decent for a chain Italian, nothing too special or exciting but certainly did do the job and fill me on my trip to Shrewsbury and I would consider returning.
