Fast forward to post-COVID, and it's been transformed into something completely different: Fancy Pizzeria, run by a family with a clear passion for what they do, complete with an oven imported from Italy. Anytime someone says Safford needs a Chili's, I cringe... not because I don't like Chili's, but because good help is hard to find in a small town. The owners here seem to understand that, keeping things lean and hands-on with very little hired help. As a result, the service from the husband-and-wife team is genuinely great... though when it gets busy, things can slow down. I've experienced that firsthand, and walked out once a couple years ago after a long wait...but I came back, and I'm glad I did. The food is, simply put, amazing. The pizza has that perfect charred crust you usually only find in bigger cities or on the East Coast. The Italian sodas are excellent. I've yet to try anything, from appetizers to pasta dishes, that didn't hit the mark. Prices are a bit higher than most spots in town, but the quality absolutely justifies it when it's in the budget. I've heard the name "Fancy Pizzeria" was intentional: they wanted to set the expectation that this isn't your typical greasy pizza joint... and they deliver on that, consistently. The dining area has expanded quite a bit recently, and the decor is creative and unique, with many of the dishes and utensils sourced from local thrift shops. All in all, this place stands out in Safford in the best way. I genuinely love everything about it and hope they can continue to operate in the years to come!

I was desperately trying to relive my glory days of Louisiana beignets by ordering the zeppoles, but they are not as doughy and were not beignets ... nevertheless they were good, slightly crunchy and served with a vanilla custard/pudding. The pizzas were yummy, but you know me ... I am an extra sauce kind of gal so next time I'll ask for extra sauce . I wanted to get the wings extra crispy, but they said they didn't have time to do that. They were actually quite busy and we did go at the peak time of dinner so I understand. I did, however, get my extra sauce so that made me happy although I only ate two wings. What I love most is that they have a couple of video games that you can play in a small designated area! This was great for the kids!! It was quiet inside and plenty of space for everyone, I do love the casual atmosphere! We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back!

There was at least 6 of us in line waiting over 30 minutes just to order and be told it's going to be OVER an hour wait. Over an hour for a mediocre pizza that was burnt. Meanwhile, the employees don't seem to care about anything. It's said they close at 10pm - however, the night shift kids refuse to take orders past 8:45pm. REFUSED. They can be seen laughing and joking amongst themselves, eating, and ignoring customers. It's pretty bad. They're known to sell the cheapest and fastest pizza in town - IF the employees let you order :) Probably the laziest, most entitled, least attendant staff members I've seen.

I don't think I'll be back in a while but hope the restaurant can make some changes to keep people coming through their doors for some good Mexican Food.
