Nowhere have we found any pizza that compares to the amazing pizza at Legends and Lore. The restaurant is small and almost always busy. The decor is very interesting and will keep you entertained while you wait for your food. And speaking of food, the Flatwood Monster pizza is especially out of this world (pun intended.) One of the toppings is macaroni and cheese. I don't even like mac and cheese, but I love it on this pizza! If you haven't tried it, be sure not to miss it. Just a warning, it does have jalapenos on it. So, if you can't handle a little heat, then I recommend The Legend pizza, which is a supreme with the freshest toppings you'll ever find. Their sammiches are also delicious and very large. A whole hoagie is actually two large sammiches, so you'll have one to eat and one to share or take home. The wings are great too. Heck, everything is fantastic. The owners are friendly and really care about their staff, customers, and the people in the area, often generously giving food those who have fallen on difficult circumstances. They are, as we say here in Appalachia, good people. We drive 36 miles round trip almost every week from Englewood just to eat at our favorite pizza place. It's that good! We love Legends and Lore!!

The pizza is good, not my favorite but I like their unique flavors, such as with the Rougarou and the Exorcist. People say to order the pickle pizza but I haven't taken that plunge yet. My favorite part might be their wings, very meaty and good choices of flavors. The Moonshine BBQ tastes like regular barbecue sauce but my favorite is their Honey Garlic Sriracha. Some of the wings are so hot you'd have to sign a waiver to try them. Some may call it legend-dairy, but I call it a pretty fun pizza joint!

We were so hungry, and Italian food sounded great. The fellow who came over to our table had a…read moreflat affect; his manner wasn't rude but he definitely was not friendly. He probably was tired? We ordered the spinach artichoke dip appetizer which was DEVINE! Husband then ordered the pasta pomodoro with sausage with which he was very disappointed. He said it tasted "okay", nothing spectacular. I ordered the Vodka di Gallo. The pasta was very dry, what little sauce had been put on it had completely absorbed into the pasta. I asked for more sauce. A lady delivered a teeny bowl of sauce, I was surprised that they would be so restrictive with their sauce! I mixed it up as best I could. We were never offered Parmesan cheese, so I requested some. The lady returned with the TINIEST little round dish of granulated cheese. I dumped the teeny tiny amount proffered onto my entree, and giggled. I took the attached picture to show the tiny amount of cheese that I was given. My pasta was flavorless, so I left it as you see pictured. We asked for the check and departed. As I went to post this review I read other reviews about bread being given with meals. We were offered no bread. It seemed to us the staff was ordered to be very miserly as opposed to what in a normal Italian restaurant was happily offered. Bread on the table. Cheese offered when the entree is served. Your server checking on how your meal was. NOPE. We had to flag down a different server for help. According to the reviews, they used to offer bread. And now they don't. Wow. They give you a miserly amount of sauce. Parmesan cheese only is given if you flag someone down and ask for it, (it was never offered), and when you do get your cheese allowance, it is a thimbleful-as evidenced in my picture. When I went into type up my review just now, I was horrified by their bad health department rating. Yikes! If we had read that before we chose to go there, we NEVER would have entered. I hope the owner reads the reviews and makes improvements. Health department corrections needed immediately. Patrons are your profit. What a shame.
