Casa Romana does it perfectly and I've never had a bad meal there. The prices are very reasonable, the portions are good, and the menu is full of traditional dishes like lasagna and spaghetti carbonara plus a few fancier options as well as the daily specials. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff always great. The decor nice but comfortable, this place isn't trying to be trendy but it's nice enough for a date or taking your mother to. As others have mentioned, it's worth making a reservation if you've going in the evening just in case they're full. Also keep in mind there's no sign outside, just look for the cozy place with the distinctively shaped door.

February 15th 2019…read more In Evening, me my mom and my dad had a family dinner together.Everything was going great. We first had to book this Italian restaurant called Rigoletto. After we got there we found a very comfortable seat. Mom and I started to order. My original plan for my third course was to eat a pancake called Crêpes Suzette. The waitress said that I couldn't order that as my third course. It was because there would be alcohol in Crêpes Suzette so he suggested me to try another dessert for my third course so I ordered tiramisu. The rest of our meal was delicious! However, our neighbors ordered Crêpes Suzette and we saw the fire flying up two meters high. It was caused by the alcohol. Because the alcohol was strong enough to make the cooking pan go on fire for two meters high. That was a funny & interesting night. I enjoyed eating in the Rigoletto and if you have time, you can go there for your dinner!!! Fun Fact This was my dolci menu!!!

The McDonald's of Italian eateries…read more Zizzi has a nice location at the top end of Market Harborough; just away from the town centre. The restaurant is well presented to the potential patron - with 2 small potted trees flanking the entrance. Inside we are greeted by a waiting area, and some steps to the larger eating space. There are also more tables around the corner, leading to a conservatory (open only at weekends). The kitchen is open - and you can view your meals being cooked if you want to. I didn't see a microwave though which was odd considering the low quality of some of the food. I've eaten at Zizzi quite a few times - always at lunch - with work colleagues, and very often the place reminds me of a high quality creche - with upper class mums and screeching children making for a rather annoying atmosphere. Furthermore the poor quality of the tasteless, stodgy pasta always makes me grimace. Recently I had calamari - at £10.00 for a main course. The fried squid was nice, although there was very little of it, and I was still hungry when I left. Generally the food is not of a high standard, although I can recommend the Calzone Carne Piccante - a calzone with green chilli, mushrooms, tomator sauce, chicken and beef. It's tasty and huge. If you want a decent Italian meal in Market Harborough I would recommend Prego on St Mary's Road, and I would advise to avoid Zizzi. Service and surroundings at Zizzi are both fine, but the food really isn't a high quality.
