Called to ask about getting more cheese, all they said is they do their pizza differently than the other locations in town. Wish I would have known that I would have gone to another location, than at least we would have gotten the good pizza we were use to.

From their website they provide the following information: For nearly 60 years, DiCarlo's very unique combination of hot crust - cold cheese has been successfully satisfying their devoted customers.Only DiCarlo's initially flash-bakes its crust and sauce in a special brick oven, and when the steaming crust emerges, it is adorned with cold creamy provolone cheese, making the taste indescribable! Orginal DiCarlo's Pizza uses NO frozen products. Fresh dough mixed daily in all of our stores. Our very own signature sauce made from superior-tasting, fresh tomatoes and combined with our unique spice mixture. We pride ourselves in using only the finest quality 100% provolone cheese, never pre-shredded. Only 100% meats - no fillers. We use products free of MSG. I can assure you that this pizza is quality and delicious. It is pizza served either by the slice at 90 cents per slice, or you can opt for a boxed square which usually will run you around 13.99 for a box of 16 slices. You can only order takeout at this location. Their pizza is good enough to take home and enjoy! If you get it "DiCarlo's style", it is with cold cheese on top. I prefer it this way, but to each their own. This is their signature style and it really adds to the flavor. They will happily melt the cheese for those of you that request it that way. I give it 2 thumbs way up! Great pizza!

I was just down the street and knew they were opened so I stopped in to place my order and was told it would be a two hour wait (at 4 pm), so I passed. Today in my way home I stopped and got a small cheese pizza and a small "the big dill" to take home. The woman on the phone was very nice. The restaurant was clean. Like Biggy's was, it's mainly a takeout joint- there are only two small tables inside. It's right on Main St so there is plenty of street parking all around. Walking out, my pizza smelled amazing! Even though I ordered the small pizzas, I was surprised to see how small they actually were- they were definitely like personal pizzas. Each had four cuts, but the pizza was only about 8". The cheese pizza was alright. The crust is pretty thick and doughy, and there wasn't much of an outer edge on the crust on the cheese which was fine. The sauce was good, I just wasn't crazy about the cheese, but hey it's plain and that's what I ordered! The big dill was awesome! The crust was seasoned with some herbs and cheese. The pickles were great, and I liked the garlic sauce. Some fresh dill would take this to the next level, and maybe some different cheese, like a feta or something, too. I definitely recommend this pie though! The pizza was really greasy though and it was also a little too doughy/undercooked for my taste. I would probably ask for mine a little more well done next time. I would definitely get the big dill again. I would also like to try their salads and calzones. Prices are a bit high, especially for Claysville; medium specialty pizza is $17 and a whole hoagie is $16, but we all know what food costs are right now, especially for small businesses. I really hope they do well here!

I ordered a large pepperoni pizza and the taste was truly, absolutely horrific. I never in my life,…read morehave ever tasted a glycerol, oil like, chemical flavor on my pallet from a simple bite of pizza, like the pizza I had at this restaurant. He's putting some type of artificial fat, additive, or extremely low cost/ quality ingredient (cheese) into his pizza that makes the product almost inedible. It tasted like he put a stale synthetic vegetable oil based popcorn butter (that has no salty taste or popcorn flavor) with a tannic, and bitter flavor in the sauce or on the dough during cooking. To this day, I question, how he even managed to do that and it gives me chills just to think about it. Actually, I should rate this review higher. As a person that appreciates and enjoys good food you can make at home or get from a quality restaurant; I am truly impressed that this business produced a pizza that tasted like literal garbage. The pizza from this business is situated below the economic rock bottom for quality of Dominos and boarding on what a raccoon would question as a midnight snack. Mind you, this was the first time I ate two pieces of a pizza, and threw the entire remaining pie in the trash. I would rate this lower than a restaurant that served me 8 month old freezer burned ribs. I wish I had the vocabulary to describe that what I was served and ate, "didn't taste like food." Something that I also need to mention is that his business does not take any form of electronic payment, only cash or "personal checks." If you can't understand the owner's rambling at the end of the call when placing the order, he wants you, when you arrive to pick up your order, to walk or drive across the street to a gas station, to pay a fee and withdrawal money from an ATM machine and walk/ drive back over to pay for your "gruel." An expectation that 90% of his potential market is not expecting. Is this why they have such great reviews, are people just infatuated with a business that only takes cash? I'd rather eat boot leather boiled in a quality chicken broth, served by a bum in the street, over my experience with this restaurant and the food I was served. Something has to change here. NOTHING about this restaurant is sustainable or good. I would rate it lower, if I could. Advice to the owner: Make a quality product or turn the key and close down shop, Fucking disgusting.
