Verde pizza. And everything is better with fresh basil!
Josh R.

Just when I thought it didn't get any better in the food truck lot by my place in Westwood, here comes the Pizza and Co truck. I've seen pizza, I've seen pizza trucks even, but I don't recall finding a pizza truck that boasts a wood-fired oven, ingredients from Italy, a baby-basil plant at the counter for garnish, and three Italians in the kitchen. Dinnertime just got real for this guy. This place has anything you want for an authentic european-style pie. Two sizes are available, and a myriad of quality vegetable, cheese, and meat toppings make these pies ripe for customization to your taste. I like the variety in the range of the cured meats. There's a lot of culinary potential here. This being my first time, I went simple. I just went with the Verde pizza. It had an arugula pesto sauce that I have never tasted before, freshly shaved parmesan cheese, and a hefty serving of "OH MY GOD THIS IS DELICIOUS". The pie was ready in about 4 minutes from the time I ordered. Awesome for a fresh and fast pizza fix. So on to the pie... Crust was perfect. Slightly blackened in spots from the wood-fire treatment on the bottom, but not burned. Thinner crust of course as is the European pizza custom. A little crispy at first bite, but immediately that chewy texture that carries the flavor of the toppings all over the palate. Make no mistake ladies and gentlemen the crust is where this place shines. The toppings are what toppings should be, accents to the crust. And each one was perfectly portioned and arranged on each slice so you could enjoy them. There was no "oil slick" effect that made me want to reach for the nearest roll of paper towels to soak it up. My toppings: Sausage, Parmesan cheese, and of course freshly torn basil. The sausage was meaty and not overly greasy or chewy. The parmesan was put on AFTER that beauty came from the over (as it should be!) and between both ingredients, gave me just enough saltiness to crave a good beer or red wine, but by no means was overpowering at all. The basil I pulled off the plant myself, and it don't get any fresher than that. A quick shake from the oregano, and a splash of the garlic and rosemary olive oil and I was right back in Italy Pricewise, this place is a value for the quality of the food. Drop 10-12 bucks and you've got a real treat and piece of food art on your hands and tongue. They'll stack as many toppings as you want, but my first and best tip for you all is this: keep it to a good base pie as a first choice, then add on one or maybe two toppings at the most, and that's all you'd need, aside from a second pizza! A quick word on the staff: They are very excited about what they do, and are more than happy to show off when they make your pie. they showed mine to me on the pizza peel before it went into the wood-fired inferno! We spoke a little in Italian, and talked about ingredients and quality, and what it takes to get a really great pie. Very nice, friendly, and passionate for their culinary art. Will I return? I've already put pizza money in my wallet for next time they are in my neighborhood. I give this truck and the pizzas that come from it a rare and well-deserved no-reservations "5 stars". So until next time my food-truck-pizza-pie-loving friends all across the Yelper-verse, I bid you "good eating."

Pizza & co....where have they been all my life?! Pizza & co stole my foodie heart! The pizza is awesome. I love the fresh veggie options. My favorite so far is the the pizza verde with italian sausage and black kale. Yum

Best pizza I've had in Los Angeles, and it came out of a food truck.

Finding a late night taco truck in Los Angeles isn't as difficult as you might think. But finding…read moreone that is tasty, affordable, and hits all the high notes can be a bit trickier. Which takes me to the West LA/Sawtelle neighborhood where I had the chance in trying out "El Paladar Oaxaqueno Taco Truck". Located directly on Santa Monica Blvd and just west of the 405 freeway, this popular mobile food truck has been around since the mid-2000's. And if you're looking for something that operates in the wee hours of the night, they are opened for business 7 days a week from 6:30am-3:00am. I arrived here a little after 8:20pm as I was looking for a meal to hold me through the night. As for the parking, it can be a bit challenging but I was able to find something just around the block. This truck is highly visible from Santa Monica Blvd and not hard to miss. As far as the ordering process goes, this place also offers food delivery (as of 2024) to all the major apps; DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Postmates. But I am someone that enjoys going to place as well as conversing with the employees/staff. Since there was no line during my visit, I walked right up and told the gentleman I would like three Carne Asada tacos (toppings on the side) and one Carne Asada burrito with no rice. Total price came out to around $24 which is quite a bit higher than the trucks in East LA/South Central LA. After making the 20 minute drive back to my hotel room, the tacos and burrito are still piping hot. As far as the flavor, these definitely have that distinctive LA "flavor" as this was seasoned very well and a very unique and acquired taste that you can't find in cities such as San Francisco, San Jose, and Sacramento. Their menu is as extensive as you'd expect as they carry several proteins; Asada, Pastor, Pollo, Chorizo, Cabeza, Lengua, and many more. And as for the selection goes, you have your choice of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, tlayudas, tostadas, mulitas, enfrijoladas, nachos, and salads. And finally the Mexican refreshments that include Coca-Cola, horchata, aguas frescas, and much more. The pros of "El Paladar Oaxaqueno Taco Truck" are arguably the amazing flavor that these things pack into them as well as a great location that is easily accessible. The cons were the very high prices (I believe my Asada burrito was around $15) and the salsas were just too watered down. Overall not a bad meal but I've had way better, especially in the Los Angeles area. When you factor in great service, above average food, but mediocre prices, I will have to rate this place 4-stars. But they are open until 3:00am so a night out of drinking at the bar/club and your opinion might change.

Found them randomly after landing late heading to our air b n b. Delicious and their salsas were so…read moretasteful. I got 2 tacos de lengua and the meat was very fresh and not fatty. We also got a burrito and this one will pass on next time only because the carne asada had a very strong Smokey taste but that is a personal preference. So if you aren't into the Smokey flavor, be mindful Very good customer service and their agua frescas were excellent!
