Ordered the hot turkey platter with gravy and mash for myself, father and 16 year old son. None of us could eat it. It was sooo salty. Like, your lips are chapped salty and need a glass of water after one bite. The turkey was just thin sliced deli lunch meat. Also, the gravy was not turkey gravy. It was brown. Bottom line, we gave it to the neighbors dogs. I am pretty pissed to spend the money but too tired to deal with complaining to them. They don't take it well. read more

This place is pretty good! I tried the normal cheese 8" and the white pizza 8", and the mozzarella sticks. They're all pretty good! Best I've tried yet in Catonsville. It's kind of in a weird little shopping center, but it has a cute diner feel inside. The cashier was very nice and kind when I went to pick it up. We've ordered for years & used to recommend, but over the past year or so there's a noticeable difference in the steak subs, wings & chicken pita & those changes are not for the better. The wings barely have any sauce & sometimes you get the celery, sometimes you don't. Tonight we asked for extra sauce (we don't mind paying extra for it, but it wasn't an option when ordering online) and we received barely any sauce on the wings. We added a note for ranch dressing (we never order blue cheese) and we ended up with one order having ranch, the other blue cheese which was an unwelcome surprise. The subs have tasted different for a while, the sub roll & steak taste different & we're not caring much for it. Cannot recommend, we'll be looking for a new pizza/sub place. The food was really good at one time & they were our go-to sub place ever since Mama Rosa's closed. The only positive I can think of is: the delivery guys are really nice. read more

This little place is hidden in a shopping center at the end of the street. I don't usually like to eat at carryout spots but when we order from here we always sit down & eat there so we can savor it while it's hot & fresh. Everything I have gotten from here has been good. The ambience is also so comfy with Fun & colorful painting on the wall. The seating is like the old fashioned Diner type & we enjoy being there. We ordered Cheesesteak, Buffalo Wings, Pepperoni Pizza, French Fries & my very Favorite are there Double Patty Cheeseburgers. Very reasonably priced & the food is fantastic. I used to be okay with Pizza 786. I felt like the prices were good and the customer service was decent. My last order from them was completely wrong. They of course made it again to correct the issue. However this happens too often. I've overly explained my order and they've even repeated it back to me correctly. However, something is always wrong. This time was different though. I found hair in my Stromboli when they "corrected" the order. I thought it was just the Stromboli so that was tossed. However, I ordered wings as well. I went to eat the remaining wings the next day and noticed hair in that as well. I know what you're thinking... That since it's the next day or after the fact the hair is mine. I literally heated the remaining to wings and ate one and noticed the hair and I said nope. I don't need to see it through. Order from Pizza 786 at the risk of hair in your food and your order being wrong. It's your choice. I'm just sharing my experience. read more

We stopped here and decided to try this place out. My husband ordered the 12" Italian cold cut sub, no hots. It was good, the sub roll was fresh, the meats and cheese to order, oil and vinegar dressing to finish it off, good! I ordered the 5 piece chicken wings, mild, they came with french fries and my choice of ranch dressing (or blue cheese) and celery (4 sticks). The ff were on top of the wings, which I did not care for and they were not hot. There is not much worse than than semi-hot french fries, these were close. With this presentation, I would not order this again. Also, the ranch dressing was warm, a big, no, no. The young lady behind the counter was more than accommodating in getting a cold container of ranch. I gave a rating of 4 because of the above reasons, next time, I would order the pizza which is a very popular item. The decor is typical diner style, nice and all was clean. read more

Nothing good lasts forever. I believe new owners are in place and it shows. I ordered a large order of fries & a pizza. Fries...they were soggy, limp and undercooked. I used to love the fries that were crispy. Second the delivery person was rude. He came to my door and handed me the receipt to sign. I signed it and handed it back & the "gentleman" SNATCHED it out of my hand! In the past I enjoyed the delivery drivers..who were always pleasant and cool. Im done. I have purchased from Pizza 786 numerous times and usually pretty happy with them. I ordered via phone on 1/9/21 at 5:52 pm and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrived around 6:15 to pick up the food. I waited an additional 20 minutes for my food to be ready. There was other patrons being told that there food would be "in a minute". The wings were way overcooked and the fries were under cooked. As I was waiting I noticed that at least 3 of the workers in the back did not have their mask on properly and mentioned it to the cashier. The manager was back there allowing it. When the cashier went and said something to the manager he hardly reacted. 2 of the guys put their mask on properly but one kept it below his chin. Unfortunately I broke down and ordered from there on 1/16/21 but was even more dissapointed then the last time. Ordered a roast beef club, kids hot dog meal and a personal pizza. Got home to find no hot dog in the bun (the bun wasn't even cut open) and the roast beef had a bad smell. And once again you could see that some of the workers weren't wearng their mask. I ordered food from here all the time. I have been ordering from here for years. And today I'm at work and I wanted to order delivery, which I have done before. And I tried ordering to reach the $15 delivery limit. And the person taking my order, I don't know their name, but they took my order a few minutes ago and they were being really impatient and very unprofessional. When I was trying to make the order to $15, Because I don't want to waste food, and I don't want to waste unnecessary money, the guy talking my order is telling me that "you're counting your pennies". He suggested buying dessert,. I don't want dessert. I had the menu opened in front of me when I was on the phone with him and basically his behavior was very rude and unprofessional. I tried to make my order to $15 before calling him, but it didn't work out unfortunately and he started suggesting on what I should get, and telling me that 'I'm counting my pennies' which is really ridiculous. It's not about the money for me. It's about the wasting food. I didn't want dessert. And I didn't want to waste money. And then he told me that the place where he is going to deliver at for me (where it has been done before), saying that it's too far, and I told him you have delivered here before. So I don't know what his deal is, but he needs an attitude check. I made the order at 10:36 a.m. I will continue to order from here, but you need to train the employees on how to talk to people because I'm trying to make it easier for him and he is being very improper. As for the quality of the food, it is great. I never had any issues. I have been eating at this place for years! The service is amazing, but today over the phone it was very unnecessary. This is the best hole in the wall pizza place I've ever ate at. We ordered 2 of their 20" monster pizza and picked up. They were ready at the time they said they would be and we're piping hot. I wish I could give zero stars. Sadly enough, I order from pizza 786 quite a lot because my kids like their chicken nuggets and they are close to my house. Usually I avoid reviewing because when they mess up they fix the problem quick. But this situation has caused them to lose me as a customer. One of the items I ordered was a grilled ham & cheese. Even though they have this on the menu, they kept asking questions like they didn't know what it was. We were very clear that it should've white bread with only have and cheese.... Grilled. They bring me a grilled sandwich with globs of mayo on both sides of the bread and lettuce and tomato on one side. And the lettuce was all brown where it hung off the bread and must've grilled a bit. And the ham was slimy. I called and the lady on the phone kept putting me on hold then tells me they'll send me a new sandwich in 40-45 minutes. If I wanted a replacement, do I really want to eat an hour after my family does? And that sandwich was foul. Ruined my appetite. I asked for a refund and she says sure, when i come back, I'll have a credit on my account. I wanted a refund, not a credit.....so then she reluctantly told me she'll put it back on my card.....upon checking my bank transactions I found 2 transactions pending; 1 for about about $51 the other for about $45. Instead of her just adjusting the total, she refunded the whole thing and recharged me. So they're holding up $95 of my money when it should be $45. I am a restaurant manager and have a lot of restaurant experience. First of all, you should always notify the customer before placing the transaction. You also don't have to do a full refund, you can just adjust the total amount. I asked for the manager and she kept saying it wasn't necessary. Then she finally answers me her name is migma and the general Manager isn't there until tomorrow morning and no one else was available currently. So frustrating! read more

I ordered a cheese steak at this place, my friend ordered a chicken cheesesteak. Our first thought was that they only seemed to put cheese on the part where the sandwich was cut (so that it looks like there's cheese when you pull it apart but the "cheesy" expectation of a sandwich which has CHEESE in it's name is just, alas, an illusion. The sandwich appeared to be flavored with "Steak-Umm™ Brand Flavoring Powders" (note: this isn't a real product, and my flavor-allegations are conjecture), and while the bread was tasty (the literal only thing they seemed to get right), the contents did little to suggest that there was anything more than not-particularly-good mayonnaise on it. The fries, which came with the meal, were described by my compatriot aptly as "tasting like bread-nuggets wrapped in wet, yellow toilet paper and then baked for like, a couple minutes." For our two orders of french fries, we were afforded four (4) small ketchup packets from a ketchup brand that none of us had ever heard of. Stop, wait, rewind the tape. When I called in the order, the surly woman on the other end of the phone started off our sub-sandwich misadventure by first arguing with me over the pronunciation of our street address, and then when I ordered an eggplant parmigiana sandwich for my girlfriend (who is a vegetarian), the woman asked "would you like chicken on that?" Not to mention, when the "gentleman" delivering our food (we'll call him "scab-hands," on account of all of the scars, scabs, and yes, an open wound on his hands) arrived, he stayed in the scabmobile outside for fully five minutes, letting our food "cool off" while trying to determine whether he was in the right place. (The store we're at is located in a business park, and is literally the only open business today). Back to the taste of the food. I felt like I was eating heartburn, and an esophageal infection, all at once. I don't have a gluten allergy, but now, a full hour after consumption, the food makes me think I somehow _caught_ celiac's disease from a sandwich (which doesn't make any sense). I would rather have paid roughly $13 per person to have someone spit in my mouth until I could take no more than to patronize this place again. Halfway through my sub, I tore their menu in twain and threw it into the wastebasket, which is where it belongs. Don't go to this place ever, unless you like consorting with scabby-handed shady individuals, and angry-for-no-reason receptionists, not to mention awful food. This was scab-hands down, the worst carry-out/delivery experience I've ever had in my 30 years on this planet. read more

Pizza 786 is a pizza/subs/wings/salads/etc place located near the UMBC campus. The interior of Pizza 786 is reminiscent of a classic American diner, featuring brightly-colored booths, painted wall murals, and old-timey signs like "Coca-Cola, 15 cents." There are two wall-mounted televisions inside -- which were tuned to different sports channels while I was there for lunch. It seems like you can get almost anything for your taste at Pizza 786. The menu has sections for pizzas (many varieties), submarine sandwiches, wings, salads, pastas, and side orders. I'm sure that I left something off that short list! Service was quick: I placed my order and received it within ten minutes. We ordered philly cheesesteaks, fries, and sodas. Everything arrived inside sheets or bags of wax paper. Ketchup, mustard, and sriracha bottles were located conveniently near the counter. I liked the cheesesteak the most - very cheesy and filling. I lived here when I went to school at UMBC. I would probably go 1-2 times a week. My favorite thing on the menu and my go too was the buffalo chicken wrap. My god is it good. Love the grilled chicken salad, the chicken is seasoned well and always juicy. They give you shredded lettuce which is kind of weird and hard to eat with a fork (I used chopsticks, lol) but it's fresh as are the rest of the veggies. BF loves their cheesesteak. The fries are usually well cooked and the clam strips have always been a tasty appetizer to share between the two of us. I've had the falafel burger in the past and it had good flavor and wasn't greasy at all. Plenty of other things I'd like to try on the menu as I've only had good experiences with the food.
