My quality of life was pretty poor when I found out about Dr. Jason and acupuncture. I admit that I was very skeptical when I scheduled a consultation but I did not have much left to lose at that point. The first time I met Jason I knew he was different. He approached my migraines with such a confident attitude and caring energy. His ability to care and heal is beyond any medical professional I have ever come across. He literally changed my life! I have now been going there for 5 years! Dr. Mike joined the family a few years ago and is equally amazing and I would not hesitate to see him! Mike is great about explaining what he is going to do before he does it. He is the perfect combination of friend and professional. Both of them know the right time to make you laugh through the pain ( which, let's face it, it hurts sometimes). I go to them with all kinds of issues, not just migraines. The thing that stands out to me and really sets this office aside is how much they care. You aren't just a patient or a paycheck. The doctors and staff knows your name when you walk in the door! The office manager Julie is incredibly welcoming and remembers the names of your family members and friends when you talk to her before appointments. My whole family ( both parents and brother) are patients here and I have sent multiple friends who have also fallen in love with the office. So anyways, I went to the AFC Urgent Care in Wendell after I received a cut to my nose in a bicycle accident, which was not life threatening. The front desk receptionist asked me for $100 up front to be seen, and I told them to bill me later - the bill ended up being $191 instead of $100! But let me tell you what happened during the actual visit with the nurse whose name is listed as "Bunn, E" on the bill. She briefly looked at my nose and manipulated me into going to the emergency room at the nearby hospital. Her reasoning was that "our x-ray machine is broken" or some hogwash like that, when all I really needed was for them to fix up the wound. She used some incredibly coercive tactics on me, such as saying I couldn't leave the urgent care without signing a waiver first (???), and then having another lady watch over me in an attempt to prevent me from leaving. She practically bossed me into taking an ambulance to the hospital instead of driving there (I was perfectly capable of driving back home instead of that hospital or the urgent care), and I only agreed to it because I had ambulance insurance that would cover the whole cost of transportation. And the EMTs were pretty unprofessional too, asking me to sign a waiver that stated "I wasn't being kidnapped." Oh, and then the hospital billed my medical insurance $10,000, leaving me with a $2,300 bill for a 2 hour stay, and listed as an "auto accident" even when I told them multiple times that it was just a low velocity bicycle accident? All of you guys can really do better, especially when I wasn't being rude to anybody. In the itemized hospital bill, they are asking for $5,300 for a CT Scan, $252 for a Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis Vaccination, and $1100 for an x-ray. On top of that the doctor at that hospital billed me seperately (???) for $202? Please, try to take the maximum amount of money you could possibly charge from somebody else, not me please. Maybe from somebody with lots of spare change, robbers. Back to the original issue - the urgent care representative told me "the office manager will call you later," even when I requested to communicate via email, not by phone. They do not give a single damn about their customers it seems. Go ahead, have a good laugh at my expense, and post some glowing reviews to balance out your review average. But I object to most of these absurd medical bills you gave me.

His clinc is set up to cover everything you need. If you are receiving treatments, his staff can administer them. A fusion nurse is assigned to you the whole time so that you are not starting over each time with someone new. He is active in the community and is just an amazing physician.

I don't get return calls, don't get return messages, been trying to get a prescription filled for days now. Whoever her new nurse/assistant is, they need to find a new profession. It's NOT ok to mess with people's medications. If you tell me the meds are going to be ready today, I expect them to be ready today, not be told I still need to contact the prescriber even though I've already done that twice. Please bring Tara back. Oh and I have no issues with Dr. Jo... she's an amazing doctor. My gripe is about the staff around her... get a new nurse, a new billing department person or at least MORE of them since they never call back when you're attempting to call in and make a payment or inquire about a bill but they're quick to call and try to collect $$ a day before your doctor's appt or else you can't come if you don't pay the balance. I called the billing department last month at least 3 different times before someone finally hit me back. Then I had to get some info and call her back, again she didn't answer, I left a message, she never called me back. I ended up calling her back a week and a half later. Yall need to give training on good customer service bc it's seriously lacking there now. Hasn't always been like this or else I would already no longer be a patient there.

I was turned away at 7:32 but I probably wouldn't have tried driving over while in pain if it hadn't said 0 wait time & open until 8pm. The man wasn't at all pleasant about it either. He said unless I'm having a heart attack go over to Duke. So I did & the difference was stark. The staff at Duke Urgent Care were more than pleasant & faster than I'd ever been seen at UNC. Most of our other experiences at UNC were decent. I don't recall encountering this gentleman there previously though. To be fair I don't know what website I was looking at - it could have been provided by another service but while looking, what stood out was the wait time & closing time.
