I hurt myself during the birth of my first child 19 years ago by tearing muscles in my back and glutes that destabilized my lower spine. I was in excruciating pain. The only therapist who could ever relieve my pain was Melanie. I have been her patient for several other injuries because she's the only one I trust. I love that she's hands on! Currently, I have pain in the left side and back of my left leg, which makes it difficult for me to walk. I'm able to use other therapists with zero charge for my insurance, but I choose Melanie because I'd rather pay some money out-of-pocket than to waste my time with other therapists who are unfortunately not as capable and knowable as Melanie. When I wasn't able to consult Melanie, I visited four therapists, an OMM doctor, and a great chiropractor, but Melanie is the only one who could fix my pain. I cannot say enough about how amazing, professional, knowledgeable, and kind Melanie is. You are in very good and capable hands with her.

No one called with results . I called to obtain results to take to a second opinion three weeks after blood tests were extant. They could not find the results. According to them no blood tests taken. I insisted. Put on hold for 20 minutes. Nope no results. Two seconds later. They found them. The results showed kidney damage and a severe infection. No one had even bothered to look at them. I've been going to Alliance Physical Therapy (Fairfax) for several months and I can't say enough…read moregood things about my experiences and treatment here. I've never been in physical therapy a day before in my life, so I was nervous and not sure what to expect. I was sent to PT by an orthopedic doctor after I sought help for chronic lower back pain. I've dealt with it for 5-6 years but a 100% telework schedule due to COVID kicked it into high gear. It was debilitating and got to the point where I would just lay down and cry because of how much it hurt. They've done a great job of making patients feel safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Everyone wears masks and hand sanitizer is widely available throughout the office. The front desk has an acrylic partition and they're great about using hand sanitizer when they collect your payment. All the staff are constantly cleaning equipment. Now, onto the physical therapists themselves. I first met with Dr. Hiral Naik. She did my initial assessment and then gave me some at-home exercises to keep up on. She then gave me a deep-tissue massage which HURT but I felt great afterwards. I had no idea I had so much tension. I started working with Dr. Josh Summers after that. He's a fantastic instructor and got me working on a regular round of exercises at the office. I'm now more aware of my body and know how to work out safely. Form is everything! Dr. Rachel Odom is now my regular PT and let me tell you - she changed my life. During our first session together, she identified issues with my hip/pelvis alignment and corrected it. This whole time, I thought I had issues with my spine!! The relief was immediate and I spent the rest of my week gliding around, amazed that I was no longer in debilitating pain. I see Rachel regularly now, once per week, and she's great about regulating my pain, guiding me through new exercises to strengthen my muscles, and follow-through on what I'm doing at home. Posture, stretching, minding your alignment, and strengthening. Everyone has always been friendly, professional, and they genuinely care about your pain management and health. For years, my friends and coworkers were saying that I was exaggerating my pain or that I was "too young" to have back pain. Josh and Rachel immediately knew something was wrong. It was incredibly validating to know that I wasn't crazy and that yes, my pain really was that bad. They have done everything in their power (and continue to!) to treat me. I have a long way to go before I think I can graduate from PT but my qualify of life is so much better. My pain is now at a manageable level and I'm more aware of my body than I was before. Scheduling my appointments are easy - the front desk staff has always been friendly (Chris and Tammy). I have a weekly standing appointment and regularly receive text message reminders. I pay up-front, sign, and schedule my appointment for the following week then and there. The location is super easy to get to and parking is plentiful. Be aware of tight corners around the parking garage, it can get a little crowded during peak hours. Overall, can't recommend this place enough!

The physical therapy staff is great. The office staff is completely incompetent and will screw you…read moreover. They do not keep track of how many visits you are at, so expect to have to keep track of that yourself (even though the standard at every other place I've gone is that the office staff do this). They notified me that I was over my limit after I had already gone several visits past my limit and instead of charging me the self-pay rate for the non-covered visits, they are charging me the full rate they send to my insurance company. Note, NOT the lower amount they actually accept my insurance company, but the amount that is about 3 times higher. I would not be at all surprised if they intentionally let patients go over the limit so they can make money back by charging them these outrageous prices they can't get from insurance companies. I switched to a much more organized and professionally run clinic and I only regret that I didn't switch sooner after the office staff messed up 3 appointment times.

I have had a WONDERFUL experience with Dr. Kori Reigel at Select Physical Therapy. Following my…read morerecent rotator cuff surgery, my range of motion was severely limited. I was very fortunate to find Kori. She is highly experienced, compassionate, and thoroughly professional. She is also fully certified for dry needle procedures. Kori worked with me regularly for six months to restore full, pain-free use of my right arm. If you have ever had rotator cuff surgery, you know regaining full range of motion within six months is pretty rare - 12 months is closer to the norm. I attribute much of my rapid recovery to Kori's ability to find the most effective treatments for me and her commitment to a full pain-free recovery. The icing on the cake is Sandy, the office manager. She is super friendly and handled all of my appointments, insurance paperwork, and back-and-forth with my doctors quickly and efficiently, saving me a lot of headaches. I have recommended Kori to friends and I will continue to do so (as I'm doing here).

However, I later received an unexpected separate office visit charge in addition to the preventive exam billing. My concern was not the care itself, but the lack of transparency regarding billing. During the wellness visit, the provider briefly reviewed outside lab results I had brought with me, and I was later billed for a separate office visit associated with that discussion. I was not informed during the appointment that this could result in an additional charge. After reviewing my visit documentation, I also felt portions of the note did not fully reflect my understanding of the visit, particularly regarding the extent of evaluation performed beyond the wellness exam. After raising concerns and providing supporting documentation, the office acknowledged overlap between the preventive visit and additional billing and indicated the matter would be reviewed. However, I did not receive a final follow-up or resolution regarding the coding review or reimbursement request. I would encourage the practice to improve communication around preventive visit billing and provide more consistent follow-up during billing disputes.

First, walking into the office the receptionist was very friendly and helpful with filling out the additional paperwork they need that is not on their website. After completing that I waited a few minutes then Dr. Johnson took me back to an exam room where she asked me some additional questions about my initial accident and the issues I have had since then along with any information from my ortho that would be beneficial for treatment. From there she brought me out into the therapy room and did a few test for range of motion, did a nice shoulder massage, some exercises, then ice before concluding our appointment. She also gave me a print out of the exercises for me to do at home until my next appointment. Walking into my first PT appointment i was a little nervous seeing everyone out doing their treatments together since i tend to be a little on the shy side and have social anxiety however, Dr. Johnson kept talking to me and all the other PT's are talking with each other so it is easy to join in the conversation especially with the other patients whom were all friendly as well. This will be my home twice a week for the next 3 to 6 weeks depending if I need surgery or not then maybe a little while longer. I highly recommend not only Dr. Johnson but the other PT's at the Fairfax location as well. I did not see one with a bad attitude or seem like they are just there to collect a paycheck. SCHEDULE ASAP!
