Being from out of town, we were not aware that these things require appointments, and really couldn't afford extra time to come back. Not to worry, the gals said they could handle us right away. The lady that took all of our information and printed our license was friendly. She obviously still likes seeing the couples that come in and was excited for us, even though we must've been her umpteenth couple. She recognized that, for us, this was a monumental moment in the process and honored that. All in all, the process took about twenty minutes (there is lots of information to be provided from both people.) I was surprised at how easy and how pleasant our experience was with any sort of bureaucracy. Thanks, Brighton!

Not to be confused with Pittsburgh, which is the 2nd most famous city that starts with "Pitts"…read more Pittsford is of course, #1. Pittsford is a lovely sleepy suburban town in the southeast part of Rochester. It's not miles away from the city of Rochester, as is the case with Victor - but it's also far enough away to be low in crime and leafy and feel extremely Suburban. It's served fairly well by the highway that goes from Rochester to Victor and not too far away from the Thruway Interstate 90. It's a few minutes from Henrietta, with all the great food, but if you want something amazing here in Pittsford then I recommend the Pittsford Dairy which has truly spectacular chocolate milk and ice creams and such. Especially at Christmas time when it's beautiful. Move your underarms towards the camera when entering this town. (Bring your Pittsforward).

This is my childhood library, so every visit has a fair amount of rose colored nostalgia. But as an…read moreadult, I continued to patronize Brighton and will continue to do so. Sometimes, when I walk in, I still see the old layout from before the 90s era renovation, which tells you how much time I spent here. But I'd still do it in a minute. It was in the children's space where I truly became a reader. I'm happy to report that the children's space is still as magical as it was upwards of 30 years ago. I still like looking around for the newest in so-called juvenile fiction (which can be more daring and brave than "adult" fiction, but that's a rant for another day). At one time, BML had a book with a plate in it celebrating my completion of the summer reading program, and I made a point to check it out to keep its circulation statistics boosted. Alas, that book has since been weeded out, but a picture of a bookplate is forever. Brighton's collection is decent sized, definitely one of the larger ones in the area. When you walk in, new releases are in the room to your right. What I really like is the shelf near the entrance featuring award winners, popular titles, and things you may have missed the first time around. It's a great way to find something new. There are plenty of tables to get work done at, and small study rooms are available. A good library should have a mix of quiet and a low roar, and BML has that in droves. I will continue to utilize Brighton Memorial Library for as long as I am able to. In a world full of ebooks, sometimes you just need a physical copy, and there's nothing like going to your childhood library to grab a book.

People who don't live in this residence will need to pay little more on activities. You need to pay a fee if you want to go to pool or track. Overall, it is a wonderful place to go!

Fairport is a beautiful little wooded village with lovely swamp lands, marshes, and nature walks, just to the east of Rochester.
