Sometimes, when I walk in, I still see the old layout from before the 90s era renovation, which tells you how much time I spent here. But I'd still do it in a minute. It was in the children's space where I truly became a reader. I'm happy to report that the children's space is still as magical as it was upwards of 30 years ago. I still like looking around for the newest in so-called juvenile fiction (which can be more daring and brave than "adult" fiction, but that's a rant for another day). At one time, BML had a book with a plate in it celebrating my completion of the summer reading program, and I made a point to check it out to keep its circulation statistics boosted. Alas, that book has since been weeded out, but a picture of a bookplate is forever. Brighton's collection is decent sized, definitely one of the larger ones in the area. When you walk in, new releases are in the room to your right. What I really like is the shelf near the entrance featuring award winners, popular titles, and things you may have missed the first time around. It's a great way to find something new. There are plenty of tables to get work done at, and small study rooms are available. A good library should have a mix of quiet and a low roar, and BML has that in droves. I will continue to utilize Brighton Memorial Library for as long as I am able to. In a world full of ebooks, sometimes you just need a physical copy, and there's nothing like going to your childhood library to grab a book.

The water park is definitely my favorite, very safe and well maintained. There's a really nice walking path with workout equipment throughout. The community center offers so many great programs for kids and adults. Halloween here is the best, with art projects to be created, games to be played. A bounce house! The parking lot turns into a trick or trunk adventure, with so many community members like police officers and firefighters hanging out candy. There's even a DJ. Such a great event.

We contacted them several times about cleaning the outside of the lodge .. was told it would be done. The day of our wedding they just took the chairs and put it over the bird droppings .. as if we wouldn't notice. The outside of the building was disgusting. We ended up cleaning cobwebs, bird dropping off the concrete and window screens, there was a light on the building that was broken, we sent emails to William Reilich and Peter O'Brien and of course I never heard back from them. I live on the edge of Cheektowaga near Amherst, so coming to town hall is about a 10/15 minute drive for me. You can take care of your typical legal business here, such as tax payments, dog licensing, etc. I've visited here twice for both of these reasons. It's a semi-dated building on the inside, original architecture mixed with some 80's elevator system or something (I don't know the exact date the elevators were put in, I'm just making them seem old here). If I recall correctly, part of the building was under repairs during my last visit. There's plenty of signage telling you where you need to go, at least! As long as I continue living in the town, I'm sure I'll find my way back eventually.

Fairport is a beautiful little wooded village with lovely swamp lands, marshes, and nature walks, just to the east of Rochester. You would think that you were a million miles away from a major city especially in the summertime, although it can get a little brutal in the winter time.
