Sometimes it's hotter than others but hey it's chilli! The size of the dish is huge and the prawns aren't those tiny little things that really shouldn't be classed as prawns! They are big prawns and there is a good serving of them also! Not just one or two! My partner will rather get pizza or the chicken schnitzel, I know he is always happy with the pizza but the schnitzel from memory he hasn't been happy with a few times ( I can't remember why, sorry). Iv had a Mint Mojito before and I just couldn't drink it, it really wasn't the best cocktail Iv personally had. Iv been here twice with large groups and the meals came out reasonably quick considering. Although the last time I went we waited over 1hr and a half for our meals as apparently the kitchen had lost or confused our orders? The staff were really good about it and we got a round of free drinks (what ever our choosing including alcohol) and I believe we got (from memory) 30-40% off our total bill! But besides that I toughly enjoy eating here!

Azra Kebabs is a well-needed stop along the way home after a night out - usually best served after you've just stumbled out of the Stock Exchange, because it's so close, convenient, and quick to deliver mouth-watering food. No matter the unreasonable time of night, the staff here is always generous - both in their portion servings and in their demeanours - always willing to put up with loud and obnoxious people who just want a kebab to make everything all better. On a night when all you want is some greasy chicken or beef and a slew of special sauce, Azra's Kebabs make you feel like it's all gravy. Find them along Edward Street, heading towards the city from the Stock Exchange.

Although it calls itself Asian Cuisine, it's predominantly Thai cuisine - however there are a few dishes of other cuisines, like GadoGado (Indonesian), Chicken and corn soup (Chinese), Takoyaki (Japanese) and Teriyaki (Japanese). The menu is really quite extensive, and there is a long Specials menu with some fantastic dishes. Some of the highlights of the Specials menu is the Salmon Lover (grilled salmon in thick red curry sauce with crispy basil), Red Galanga Fish (deep fried fish with ginger and vegetables) and Spicy Duck Adventure (spicy stir fried roasted duck with chilli, garlic, basil and vegetables) The Red Duck Curry is really delicious with lots of fruit in it - it's strange how fruit like lychee, tomato and grape go so well with red curry and duck. There's also a Thai favourite on the dessert menu, Black sticky rice with coconut milk! YUM! Red Galanga also has lunch specials - Take away for $10.50 and Dine-in for $12.50 and a choice of stir-fry, curry and noodles. An extra $2 for 2 pieces of entree - spring roll, curry puff, fish cake or golden parcel.

It was on one of these nights we decided to try out a new Asian restaurant - Red Galanga. This was actually well over a year ago, around the time they changed the name from 'Red Ginger' to something a little more exotic. We were immediately drawn to the Salmon Lover - a thick cut of salmon that is juicy and always perfectly cooked, served with an assortment of delicious Asian vegetables with a mild creamy red curry sauce. The vegetables are particularly great in this fresh and filling meal, as they are served beautifully crunchy and always bright and fresh in colour. No sogginess here! We were also enamored by the Crispy Duck - succulent pieces of flavoursome and LEAN duck with of course a fittingly crispy skin, sliced atop a bed of more crispy vegetables, served with a thick teriyaki sauce to drizzle over. We generally order 'enough rice for two' and enjoy layering the two dishes atop a bed of rice. They taste surprisingly tasty mixed together, and I have been known to save the left over dregs of Salmon Lover sauce to enjoy with fresh rice the next morning. :3 There has not been a time we have ordered from this place and not ordered our 'usual'. I know we should broaden our horizons and sample the other delights on offer, but these dishes are just SO GOOD! Something to note - wether we are picking up take away or are sitting in enjoying the ambiance of the simple but elegant and clean restaurant area, the food has always been presented with the same level of skill and care. Staff are always very friendly and accommodating, and the food is generally prepared very quickly (around 20 minutes from ordering). This is an absolute gem of a restaurant, and I encourage you to try it out for yourself.

I ordered the Slaw Burger with fries. Oh, I mean, COLD fries. The burger does not state that it is spicy on the menu. An abhorrent amount of sauce both in the slaw and on the burger itself which was also coated in a nauseating glaze. I literally had to scrape the over zealous amount of sauces off the bred. Those bread boards they are served on, just plane idiotic! Plus, they look none-too-clean. By the time I'd done my best with my revolting "dining experience", I ensured to leave a note on the paper which encloses the burger, stating way too much sauces with an unhappy face. One more thing, the preposterous volume of the music blaring so you couldn't speak to your partner.

It was weird. I had the spicy chicken which was actually quite good but definitely spicy. The main problem was the service. You order on the app, but we waited about 40 minutes to get our food. I went up to the counter to inquire and several service members made a point to walk past me and never make eye contact to help me. My companion finally came up from the porch to tell me our food had finally arrived - that's how long it too. Then when it was time to pay, similar experience - couldn't catch the eye of anyone.

However have not been for 2 years (moved up to Bundaberg) and it wasn't until a recent early Christmas catch-up with family that prompted this review. Prices we had looked at online were higher on the menu than what we had seen advertised. Had to wait for almost an hour for our steaks (lunch sitting, almost empty with only 3 other tables being seated), our jug of coke seemed very watered down. Someone ordered the loaded potato skins and when it arrived there was only 4 and at a price of around $18 i think that's a bit rich. One of our salads ended up with sparkles from a children's desert in it, we were told we would receive 25% off the meal which didn't end up happening. One of our group ordered a prime rib cooked medium rare, but after 45mins was told that he could only have one medium rare if he did not want one of the 18hr slow cooked steaks. Strange since on their menu it states that they are best served medium rare? On top of this, gravy used to be included with your meal along with 2 sides (salad and fries/mash). Now it is $2.95 on top of the cost of the meal. I don't know if this restaurant has changed hands in the last few years but I know I will not be returning as the quality has bottomed out.

I commend them for branching into plant based options to ensure everyone is catered for when dining in their restaurant. The Vegan Schnitzel Wrap is AMAZING. Curly Fries are too die for and is what Hog's Breath is renowned for. If you purchase a membership you will receive 25% off for life, which is a fantastic discount for those that are regular diners.
