Pita Club is a casual restaurant offering a menu of pita sandwiches and platters featuring Middle Eastern falafels and kebabs. The Plato de Falafel came with two green falafels (made with cilantro and parsley) and two red falafels (made with spicy red peppers), along with a yogurt dipping sauce; a grainy hummus; and a salad of red cabbage, red onions, and tomatoes, served over a lettuce leaf and topped with sesame seeds. The standout item was the red falafels, which had a distinct spicy flavor from the red peppers mixed with the ground chickpeas. I also tried the Asado de Pollo, or chunks of grilled chicken in a flavorful marinade of herbs and spices. And finally, I ordered the Pita Sabij sandwich, made of fried eggplant, beet hummus, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and tahini sauce. This was by no means a traditional Sabich, as the sandwich came with neither egg nor amba, but the creamy eggplant and other ingredients made for a tasty combination nonetheless. Overall, this was a nice place for a casual meal of Middle Eastern-inspired dishes. The flavors definitely incorporated some local Spanish influences, and while the service was extremely slow, the food made for a good value meal. read more
