I also appreciated the Event Coordinator's excpertise and help (Emily Delauter) in many areas, as I have never planned a big event before! She was extremely responsive and helpful. She didn't even send a quote after our phone call. So while we wouldn't have gone with Zesty Gourmet anyway, the business doesn't seem to care much for clients anyway. The food was a huge hit--charcuterie and crab cakes for appetizers, followed by a buffet that included a fresh mixed-greens salad with berries and feta, tender beef with horseradish mousse, chicken piccata with lemon and capers, au gratin potatoes, green beans almondine, and saffron rice. Everything was flavorful, well timed, and beautifully presented. What really stood out was working with Lisa Sheppard and her team. We began working with Joan, Executive Chef and Owner, a couple of weeks prior to the event. Joan provided us with sample menus and pricing and was very accommodating about changes we wanted to make. The menu included wonderful appetizers for our cocktail hour (the bacon-wrapped scallops were the bomb!) and a very nice combination of main courses with seasonal vegetables for the dinner. Everything was prepared meticulously and served efficiently by her gracious staff. Even their bartender was very professional and friendly to all our guests. We felt a little uneasy about the spotty communication and had to keep reminding ourselves that they are professionals and know what they are doing. Which they are. The day of staff were invisible. We kept talking afterward about how we barely saw them doing all the magic that they did. This is much to their compliment. Everything went so smoothly and we weren't pestered with questions all day...for once! I also want to note that they served us through incredible circumstances. We got married the day after 2million people lost power in that storm. We didn't have electricity at the venue, they didn't have it at Legends, BUT they pulled it off with the integrity of their business upheld and furthered.
