I had high hopes based on reviews, but this was our least favorite winery stop of the day. The…read moreatmosphere was really lacking...no curb appeal outside, no ambiance inside- harsh (boring lighting) cheap decor, no music. The patio out back was almost painfully plain and open to look at- I feel like if they would invest some money they could give it a better vibe- but everything feels cheap. We ordered a glass of wine a little after 5 and all but three tables appeared available- around 5:30 the worker(owner?) showed us that our table had a (tiny-) paper on it saying it was reserved at 6pm. And asked us to move tables- when we looked all of the other EMPTY tables also had signs (and no people) saying they were also reserved for 6pm - anyhow- we quickly finished our glass of wine and left/ needless to say- not a very good experience- wouldn't return. On a positive note- the wine was decent.

Terre Haute Mall is actually a general store located in the center of the small community of Terre…read moreHaute. They offer gasoline (regular unleaded-87) with two old gas pumps in front of the building. Inside, the layout of the store is a bit cramped with old wooden floors and narrow aisles and shelves packed close together. The long row of shelves behind the counter are decorated with a variety of antiques and lots of family photos can be seen taped to the big cooler behind the full service deli counter in the back of the store. They offer a very basic selection of groceries, snacks, candy, cooler drinks, smokes/tobacco products, and miscellaneous household items. The full service deli counter offers sliced meats, cheeses, made to order breakfast sandwiches, burgers, sandwiches, subs, pizza, chicken tenders, boneless wings, fries, fried foods, and salads. Fruit pie slices from Stevens Bakery (Springfield) are also sold here. They also offer hand scooped Young's Ice Cream (21 flavors) in cones or cups. There is a small seating area in the front of the store near the register counter. While driving the backroads through Champaign County, I stopped in here at the deli counter for a Steak Hoagie ($5.49-no tax on takeout food in OH) with pizza sauce and provolone cheese. My sub was hot and ready in about 12 minutes after ordering, paid at the front register. The steak hoagie was pretty good , a bit messy to eat, which was comprised of a large firm hamburger steak topped with lots of thick pizza sauce and melted cheese between a warm crusty hoagie roll. This store seems like to the place to be, especially during the middle of the day during lunch when the place was quite busy. This place was a good stop for lunch. NOTE: A $0.50 fee is charged for each credit card transaction.
