Prior to stalling, the truck had been jerking, sputtering during acceleration, and losing power while driving. After evaluating the truck, I was told the spark plugs needed to be replaced. I approved the repair and paid $509.19. I was then told the truck was fixed. Unfortunately, shortly after leaving, the exact same issue happened again. The truck began sputtering and completely died near Friendship Road and I985, creating a dangerous situation in traffic and resulting in another emergency tow that cost me an additional $300. I returned the truck and explained that the issue was still occurring. However, because the truck happened to start for them during testing, I was told they could not replicate the problem and did not know what was wrong. I specifically asked about fuel system concerns because the symptoms felt fuel related, but no diagnosis was made beyond the spark plugs. At that point, I no longer trusted the truck to be safe to drive and took it directly across the street to Christian Brothers Automotive Buford for a second opinion. Shortly after arriving there, the truck stalled again while they were attempting to move it into the service bay. Because the failure occurred while connected to diagnostics, they were able to pull active fault codes indicating issues with the fuel pump and fuel pump control module. I ultimately authorized approximately $2,000 in repairs for the actual problem. In retrospect, the spark plug replacement appears to have been more of a guess at the problem than an actual diagnosis, especially considering the symptoms remained exactly the same immediately afterward and the real issue turned out to be fuel system related. To be fair, intermittent mechanical issues can be difficult to diagnose, and the staff was polite throughout the process. However, I am disappointed that I spent over $500 on repairs that did not address the issue at all, followed by another breakdown and tow immediately after being told the vehicle was fixed. Given the safety risk involved with a vehicle stalling in traffic, I expected a more thorough diagnostic process before being told the truck was repaired.

I drove up from Florida on Saturday and was helping a family member move. I ran over a huge screw and went to the closest tire store which was a Mavis. They looked at my tire and said it couldn't be fixed that o would have to replace it. But they didn't have my tire size so they called the closest Mavis to where I was staying and said I'd be fine driving there. I got a mile from the where the Mavis was when my tire blew! I called a tow truck and he dropped me off at Mavis. The lady there said that the other store got the tire size wrong and they didn't have the correct one. She wrote on a piece of paper the size I needed and I walked to Goodyear, just around the corner, and inquired about a tire. Eldin went out to my car, saw that the tire number she wrote on the piece of paper was wrong and said he could have one by the morning. I showed him a picture of the screw in my tire and he told me that it couldn't have been fixed!!!!!!! Long story short, he could see my frustration, pulled a few strings and got me a tire before the store closed. He wasn't there when I went back so I hope he reads this review. Thank you Eldin and whoever brought the tire!!! I'm extremely grateful for all your help and compassion! You made my day better!

The staff stayed an extra 40 min, put two new front tires on my car and 6 months later, I'm still driving it so I think that's a win! Give this place a chance. Shawn is fun guy, his personality might be a little subdued when it gets busy but overall he's a good guy that'll make sure things get done right.

Prices: I needed more ball bearings for my front wheels because every time I turned my steering wheel, it sounded like my truck was haunted. It would squeal so much you would think you're watching an Alfred Hitchcock movie. I checked prices from 2 other different places and all of the prices were competitive. So I decided to come here since it was close to my house. New ball bearings parts and labor hit me for $616. As they were doing that they found my tires were wearing out on the edges on the inside where I couldn't see it. They were ready to go at anytime. So I also got a quote for 2 new tires and alignment and that hit me for $433 total. As I have a truck with 24 inch tires, I'm used to paying $350 for 2 of them plus the alignment was $80. That was in my price range so total I dropped $1,033 in 2 days. The work: They really surprised me on the work as they quoted me a 4 hour work time on the ball bearings and were done within 2 and a half hours. So I went to pick my truck up and it was so silent. Now I'm happy if I'm out at night that I won't wake all of my neighbors up. As well as the tires and alignment the next day, which was today, they quoted me at least 2 and a half hours. They were done in an hour and 20 from the time they brought my truck to the back. It was really quick service. At the end of the day, I'll have to keep these guys on my radar and when I need something, just call and set up an appointment time. When I did it, I just called me an Uber to pick me up and drop me back off on the first day. Today, I just caught me a little nap but didn't sleep too long as they were already done. If any of you need anything and in the Dacula area, give these guys a try.

Shortly after the installation, we began hearing noticeable brake noise coming from the driver's side of the vehicle. In January, we brought the car back to Pep Boys specifically to ask about the brake noise. They denied any responsibility or wrongdoing related to the tire installation and claimed there were no brake issues caused or overlooked during their service. They then provided us with a quote for brake replacement that exceeded $1,400. What was most alarming was that the estimate listed remanufactured brake components for a 2024 vehicle, which is unacceptable at that price point and raises serious safety concerns. We ultimately took the vehicle to the dealership for a second opinion. The dealership was genuinely surprised that Pep Boys did not identify brake issues at the time the tires were installed. We were told the brake problems should have been noticed much earlier and that there is no reasonable way the condition developed in less than a month between the tire installation and the brake repair. Between the lack of accountability, the extremely high estimate, and the use of remanufactured brake parts on a newer vehicle, this experience left us with very little confidence in Pep Boys Dacula's inspection process or recommendations. We will not be returning and would not recommend this location to others.

Seven months later, the same issues began to occur. Assuming I could trust the workmanship of the business, I took it back to them to evaluate. They happily agreed to evaluate it, but cheerfully reminded me that I did not purchase the extended warranty that would cover any labour for any problem that I had fixed previously. Strike one. Later in the day, I received a phone call from Adam, letting me know that they had "run the vehicle through their regular diagnostic check", and they found they needed to drop the transmission to figure out the issue, and I'd need to pay for it. Twice more, he reminded me that I hadn't purchased the extended warranty. I told him I must have blindly trusted their workmanship by not purchasing the extended warranty, and that if I'd known the car was going to do THE EXACT SAME THING I BROUGHT IT IN FOR 7 MONTHS BEFORE, they should stand behind their work. Adam asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. He transferred me to a manager, and I explained the situation again. The manager was rude, found 2 more ways to insert the "you didn't purchase the extended warranty". I told him that fact had now been well established, and it was obvious he didn't care about me as a customer. I told him I'd never purchased an extended warranty for ANY repair for ANY of my cars, because I had become accustomed to not needing it, because with every other business I'd used, I didn't have to come back for the same problem. After a few more condescending statements com the manager, I asked if I could just pick up my car and take it somewhere else. He said yes, and there'd be no charge. Ten minutes later, Adam called me back, saying he'd talked with the manager, and since I was a "good customer" and had "spent a lot of money" with them, they would drop the transmission and check into the issue at no charge, even though (wait for it) I hadn't purchased the extended warranty.
