Thankfully the hosts were kind to order us a fresh batch and we packed it for to go. Our fave dish was the okoy and pasta! We came in on a weekday and there were 7 of us! Beautiful restaurant!

After a tour of the…read moreSan Fernando Heritage District, we were elated to find out that the restaurant was close by. We followed Google Maps to the place. The sign was small and we almost passed it. What caught my eye was the building blanketed in vines, yeah, I like plants. We parked in front and walked through the entrance into a large room with a very high ceiling. The best way I could describe the place is that it's something between a conservatory and barn with antique furnishings. The low lighting and candles gave the dining area a cozy feeling. Staff are friendly and helpful. There are many servers, that are all willing to help you with your needs. The table for two is tiny, so I had to ask for an extra chair to rest our purses on, to make room for our food. WE SHARED: - Mango shake was thick and sweet. - Sicilian salad with mango, grapes and candied nuts. We don't know what made this salad Sicilian, but it was tasty nonetheless. - Aglio Olio pasta with olive oil, garlic and shrimp was good After our meal the staff gave us the freedom to roam the grounds. On the second floor is the Hamanda Hotel, a boutique hotel owned by a Swede who happens to be an interior designer. We enjoyed our lovely lunch at The Souq: good food, decent prices and nice ambiance.

Worse, they'll bring you to their relative's restaurant and make you eat things that are most likely Ilocano. Ditch them, put together 500 Pesos and look for this place along a not so busy highway. Don't bother looking for the sign, it's not visible from where your coming from. Instead look for the the cluster of parked jeeps and SUVs. The place is airconditioned which is good but, don't be discouraged by the wooden benches, plastic chairs, concrete slab floor and the usual patrons: government officials, cockfight aficionados, gamblers, businessmen, jeepney drivers and the local police. The food, which is what you came for should be your only concern. Take your 500 bucks (about 10 US Dollars) and order any or all of the following: rice, chicharon bulaklak, stuffed fried frog, pako fern salad, tomatoes and salted duck eggs, lechon kawali, bulalo, tocinong kalabaw, beef barbecue, kamaro roasted grasshoppers, sisig, beef morcon, pampanga sweet longganisa, crab omelet, stuffed crab, frog's legs, fermented buro, camaron rebosado, crispy tempura kangkong leaves and beef mechado. Wash it all down with soda or beer and order the halo halo. You should have enough leftover for bus fare home, but you'll be back a couple of times.

The restaurant itself is a decent size, more of a hole in the wall type place. The staff are nice and move fairly quickly with our orders and getting our food. The food was delicious. We ordered the crispy kare kare, dinaguan, sizzling sisig, (which they are known for) and everything was good! The only reason why I did not give a 5 star rating is because of the cramped spaces and tendency for bugs:s/flies coming in since the restaurant is open and not enclosed. But for the food, its worth it.

Even better when adding some Calamansi and a bowl of rice. It was the best Sisig I have ever had. The lechon kawali at Aling Lucing is solid as well. My biggest beef with this restaurant is they don't have half the items on the menu. The bulaklak chicharon wasn't available. The Kate-Kare wasn't available. I imagine it's hard to run a business without having half the menu. Fortunately they had the namesake Sisig. Overall food was good but whoever is in charge of the restaurant food ingredients needs help.

Waited for them to head count & put wristbands. But when time to head to the buffet line mostly foods was almost gone. Kept asking them how long more , all they replied was oh yes they are cooking more. OMG why they kept running out of foods if they even asked for reservations. Then people kept coming in on their own so us that had reservations had to wait for some other foods that was empty. No words from the staff or apologies came from any of the staff. It's sad because of how the restaurant runs . And kids are charged full price from 4 feet's above and under 4 feet's 300 pesos . They should charge by certain ages . Staffs are not trained well no customer service. We always asking what we need foodrinks & tissue not being refilled while needed always waiting. I don't understand why they can't accept cards when cash has been used as deposits. The difference wanted to pay with card the supervisor said no. I didn't asked for the deposit back I was willing to pay the difference on my credit card. Not acceptable....i will never refer my friends and family from abroad. I don't want them to get the bad service as we experience. This Dampa restaurant was at Dampa Urdaneta Pagasinan.

As we drive in, you could already see that the vibe is on as the place is very well lit and so cute!! I love the little nipa huts where you can enjoy your food, the huge open space and the designated outdoor sinks to ash your hands My friend walked me through how it works. Basically you select the food items you want (live fish, fresh fish, meat, skewers, etc). We ended up getting salmon belly, tuna belly, octopus, pork skewers, shrimp, and ofcourse the red hotdog. Then we paid to the cashier and sent it to the grilling station. We got everything grilled bec that's what I was craving but you can also get it cooked like in broth. The grilling did take a while which makes sense bec grill. Overall though the food was very delicious! We ordered a side of rice and the best part is the soy sauce + calamansi + chili dipping sauce to dip all the grilled items!! The tuna belly was too tough and the shrimp were a bit overcooked but everything was delicious. We paid about 2,500 pesos for everything which comes up to $40 so still pretty cheap!
