Wanting to venture out and see what else was out there I went to the Midland parks and recreation website and found a list of playgrounds in the area. We decided to go to Grafa Park today and WOW! It. Is. AWESOME!! The playground is HUUUUUUGE! There is so much to do on it: climb, slide, explore! It's super tall too (which, with a 18mo, I had to get up there with him because the openings for the ladders make me SUPER nervous.) But, hey, it was so much fun for me too!!! The slides are GREAT! There is also a huge walking track around the reservoir(???) I think that's what it is. My kids (and I) LOVED it! We brought a sub sandwich, chips and our drinks and had a picnic at one of the many picnic tables here. There are also plenty of benches and shade trees too! So glad we found this park! We can't wait to come back!!!!

This is a very sweet park which we are so happy to have found! It's not so big but there's a…read morewonderful play structure on one end and a big lawn with a walking trail on the perimeter. And best of all, lots of SHADY TREES! We've found an evening walk here to be a nice way to wind down the day. It's very relaxing as there's often a cool breeze funneling under the trees and a high gate between the park and the road to protect from all the cars. Nestled enough within a neighborhood that it isn't dusty (locals know what I'm saying!) and full of people playing with their dogs and families until sun down, so it feels very safe. About the dogs - they've always been good boys and girls and we have had no problems at all with them. However, we have found a lot are actually off leash when they play so just an FYI, if it's not your thing.

Wow! What an AWESOME park!…read more It is nice to have a play area for my older 2 (ages 3 and 4) and my little one (age 1). I actually couldn't believe how HIGH the older-kids equipment was! The slides were SO long! I really liked the turf ground cover! Looks great! No mess! No watering! Soft to land on. We didn't walk around the " fitness track" area but it appeared to have exercise equipment along the trail. The one thing that would have been nice would be a restroom. (Unless I'm mistaken and didn't see it). Of course my kids had to "go" like 20 minutes after we arrived so we had to leave. We'll be back!

Nice baseball, soccer, and softball fields and general grassy areas. You can book the fields in advance for private games or for more recreational, group sports and there are bright lights in the evening to light up the fields (necessary when the day is 102!). No picnic tables or very much shade though, so probably not the best for just hanging out.

Have brought my kiddos to this playground a few times so far! We LOVE it here!…read more It's a decent sized playground with enough equipment to keep the kids busy and not bored. I even enjoy climbing up the main structure and going down the 2 HUGE slides! The kids appreciate that there are "different" play equipment at this playground... the wiggly/wobbly balance apparatus is really neat and the spinning "merry-go-round" is awesome! I like that there is artificial turf as a ground cover. (Not a huge fan of the wood chips under the swings... there always seems to be singing ants in wood chips). There is minimal shade here, mainly just above the large main structure. Another mother I was speaking to said she wished more playgrounds had cover/shade. There is a small pond with a dock next to the play area. That makes me a bit nervous as my middle child has no fear... I can just picture her wandering over there if I take my eyes off her for a split second! All in all, a solid playground. Hasn't been busy during any of our visits. We'll definitely be back!

The playground itself isn't HUGE but they had fun. I don't really like how far away the swings and spinning equipment is from the main playground. It's hard to keep an eye on different kids when they are so spread out. I did like that the main playground has the rubber ground cover but the swings and the spinning "thing" had those messy wood chips There are MANY walking paths around the park. They all zig zag around. Incorporated around the trails are some built in workout equipment. A couple picnic tables are here as well so pack a lunch! I guess they are fracking right next to the playground. There is a huge barrier wall which I had to inquire about. I was told that was supposed to help sound proof... I didn't hear anything so either it works or they weren't actually doing it at the moment. We liked this park so we'll be back.

Along with the playground, this park also includes a baseketball court and a baseball/kickball field. Part of this playground has that cushy rubber ground cover and the rest has wood chips. My main issue with this park is the playground's proximity to the road. It makes me SUPER NERVOUS. There are some drivers going entirely WAY TOO F-ING fast down E Golf Course and I worry about my littlest wandering off into the street. Therefore, I position myself between the playground and the street. All in all, decent playground but I find myself on edge the whole time we're here due to the traffic.

Nonetheless, there was plenty of available seating on a Wednesday night (6/2). Parking was easy and free. Tickets were $16 to sit right behind home plate (you do not need to buy tickets ahead of time online if you're going to a weekday game, as there were barely a couple hundred people to fill the stands). At first, we were told that based on the section we bought tickets in, that we could get free popcorn, peanuts, and soft drinks. This was not the case. The free goodies were in fact for groups that had wristbands and were part of employers or families that had bought picnic packages. There were plenty of other options anyways that were reasonable - BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, corn dogs, nachos. I had gotten the big Bushbaby Bush's chicken sandwich for $5.50. I wish I had kind of waited and made a decision after I had walked around to all the food stops, as I'm not kicking myself that I didn't get a chance to try the famous peanut butter jelly bacon hot dog. If it is hot and sunny try get seats in sections 7-14 to get some shade. Look for promotion nights. The food was a bit pricey but that was expected they need to make Money since ticket prices are a great deal and they have Thursday night specials.

Visited Hill Park today for the first time! It is definitely a nice little park hidden in a…read moreneighborhood. The kids had a great time! There were 2 play areas: one for bigger kids and one for smaller kids. The bigger kids playground had 2 slides and different climbing structures. The smaller kids playground had a duel slide and a moving bridge. There were a few spinning playground pieces as well. Lastly, 2 big kid swings and 2 baby swings rounded out the play equipment. The main negative is that this playground had that messy wood chip ground cover. I personally prefer the squishy rubber ground cover. Hill Park also includes a walking track around an area that occasionally fills up into a pond. During our visit, the pond was there with a few ducks. It was kind of a hassle to have it there as the little kids kept wandering off near it. (Nervous!) We will definitely return! (Totally forgot to take some pictures of this fun little park!)

We had the playground all to ourselves! They ran to it and unfortunately were super bored after like 5 minutes. It was a bummer that there aren't any swings at this playground... my littlest can spend hours on the swings alone. While the kids played, it didn't help that it was like "only" 80 degrees out and the slides were SCORCHING HOT. I couldn't imagine in the dead of summer. This playground definitely shows a ton of wear. Not sure when they put it up but the hot Texas sun has destroyed the surface. There are a number of benches for the adults. One of which was on a giant slant. Not sure what was going on with that... All in all, I don't think we'll be returning to this playground. My kiddos had more fun playing in the dirt under a giant tree than playing on the equipment. We'll try some more!
