Wow! What an AWESOME park!…read more It is nice to have a play area for my older 2 (ages 3 and 4) and my little one (age 1). I actually couldn't believe how HIGH the older-kids equipment was! The slides were SO long! I really liked the turf ground cover! Looks great! No mess! No watering! Soft to land on. We didn't walk around the " fitness track" area but it appeared to have exercise equipment along the trail. The one thing that would have been nice would be a restroom. (Unless I'm mistaken and didn't see it). Of course my kids had to "go" like 20 minutes after we arrived so we had to leave. We'll be back!

Wanting to venture out and see what else was out there I went to the Midland parks and recreation website and found a list of playgrounds in the area. We decided to go to Grafa Park today and WOW! It. Is. AWESOME!! The playground is HUUUUUUGE! There is so much to do on it: climb, slide, explore! It's super tall too (which, with a 18mo, I had to get up there with him because the openings for the ladders make me SUPER nervous.) But, hey, it was so much fun for me too!!! The slides are GREAT! There is also a huge walking track around the reservoir(???) I think that's what it is. My kids (and I) LOVED it! We brought a sub sandwich, chips and our drinks and had a picnic at one of the many picnic tables here. There are also plenty of benches and shade trees too! So glad we found this park! We can't wait to come back!!!!

This is a very sweet park which we are so happy to have found! It's not so big but there's a…read morewonderful play structure on one end and a big lawn with a walking trail on the perimeter. And best of all, lots of SHADY TREES! We've found an evening walk here to be a nice way to wind down the day. It's very relaxing as there's often a cool breeze funneling under the trees and a high gate between the park and the road to protect from all the cars. Nestled enough within a neighborhood that it isn't dusty (locals know what I'm saying!) and full of people playing with their dogs and families until sun down, so it feels very safe. About the dogs - they've always been good boys and girls and we have had no problems at all with them. However, we have found a lot are actually off leash when they play so just an FYI, if it's not your thing.

Nice baseball, soccer, and softball fields and general grassy areas. You can book the fields in advance for private games or for more recreational, group sports and there are bright lights in the evening to light up the fields (necessary when the day is 102!). No picnic tables or very much shade though, so probably not the best for just hanging out.

This place is also referred to as the Watersong Wild Space. The weather could not have been more perfect on that Sunday, January 4, 2026. It's not the most amazing place due to the dry climate and flat lands, but for Midland it was a cool find - plus it was all free. Free parking. Free entrance. I could definitely hear the droning tires on the Interstate nearby, but viewing nature was refreshing. A caliche road leads to the parking lot. Look out for mesquite trees that might scratch your vehicle up if you get too close. The biggest drawback had to be that dogs are not allowed. No bicycles allowed either. Just please have your party dispose of their trash properly at the main pedestrian entrance. Closed on Monday.

I took a morning walk here with my friend and her two dogs…read more It looks small but there were a decent amount of trails from which to choose. The trail is so west TX with mesquite trees and dry dirt everywhere. We saw a cute quail flying by and then scurrying across the trail. The dogs loved it and there's also a dog park for them across the street. The nature center is also next to a golf course. It was a great start to our day and beautiful watching the sun rise.

They did a great job recreating it (at a smaller scale, of course) but it's still amazing to see up close, and you're allowed to walk through the pillars here, whereas in the UK you can't get anywhere near the actual Stonehenge pillars. We were on a road trip and when I heard about this place, I knew we had to swing by and experience it for ourselves. It was only about 15 minutes out of the car, but when you're driving across the massive emptiness of West Texas, every cool stop is worth the chance to stretch your legs. Check it out if you're driving through!

The playground itself isn't HUGE but they had fun. I don't really like how far away the swings and spinning equipment is from the main playground. It's hard to keep an eye on different kids when they are so spread out. I did like that the main playground has the rubber ground cover but the swings and the spinning "thing" had those messy wood chips There are MANY walking paths around the park. They all zig zag around. Incorporated around the trails are some built in workout equipment. A couple picnic tables are here as well so pack a lunch! I guess they are fracking right next to the playground. There is a huge barrier wall which I had to inquire about. I was told that was supposed to help sound proof... I didn't hear anything so either it works or they weren't actually doing it at the moment. We liked this park so we'll be back.

Pioneer Park is a nice little hidden city park. I like that it's close by our home. The kids seem…read moreto enjoy the play equipment... I personally don't think there is a *ton* to do on it. Miracle play equipment includes: 1 big slide, 1 little slide, 2 big kid swings, 2 baby swings, 1 saucer swing, a couple climbing ladders, those "weird 3 ball climbing thingies" and a "cat walk" type thing. I do like that the playground has that squishy rubber ground cover in case of falls. There are also some workout equipment for adults including an arm press, rowing machine, leg press and a "gazelle" type thing. A decent-sized walking track goes around the area as well. Not sure how long this park has been around but it appears that it used to have a bunch of trees here but the empty open squares throughout the concrete leads me to believe many of the trees died. 2 picnic tables and numerous benches are here as well. There is an older single soccer field here as well. Only 1 goal remains which leads me to believe they don't play real games here. A youth soccer team was practicing while my kids played on the playground. Usually there is no one here when we come. All in all, a decent playground to mix it up. Not the greatest but I like that it's usually just to ourselves.
