This really was a nice little stadium (of course, I'm kind of biased with how big and landscaped ABQ Isotopes Park is). Nonetheless, there was plenty of available seating on a Wednesday night (6/2). Parking was easy and free. Tickets were $16 to sit right behind home plate (you do not need to buy tickets ahead of time online if you're going to a weekday game, as there were barely a couple hundred people to fill the stands). At first, we were told that based on the section we bought tickets in, that we could get free popcorn, peanuts, and soft drinks. This was not the case. The free goodies were in fact for groups that had wristbands and were part of employers or families that had bought picnic packages. There were plenty of other options anyways that were reasonable - BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, corn dogs, nachos. I had gotten the big Bushbaby Bush's chicken sandwich for $5.50. I wish I had kind of waited and made a decision after I had walked around to all the food stops, as I'm not kicking myself that I didn't get a chance to try the famous peanut butter jelly bacon hot dog. This was a fun evening of baseball and entertainment. The food and beverage choice was excellent. They had a train and a playground for kids, interactive events with spectators field games between innings. If it is hot and sunny try get seats in sections 7-14 to get some shade. Look for promotion nights. The food was a bit pricey but that was expected they need to make Money since ticket prices are a great deal and they have Thursday night specials. read more

We just went to our FIRST Rockhound game since moving to Midland! Wow! We had such a great time! My husband and I got married at a Ballpark so we LOVE going to games and seeing different stadiums. This was a really nice stadium!! It was a 2:00pm game and was 100 degrees, pure sun and a UV index of 10. There was *some* shade. Not much but the stadium wasn't packed so most people were able to move to shaded seats. This is definitely a family friendly stadium. There are 2 playgrounds behind right field and an AWESOME SPLASH PAD behind center field! I am not going to lie... I think I had just as much fun playing in the water as the kids! Yes I got soaked but with the 100 degree day, it felt nice to sit and watch the rest of the game a bit cooler. (Have your kiddos wear their swimsuit under their clothes!) Decent food choices. Prices seemed pretty average for ballpark food. $5 for an ice cream, $3.75 for french fries, $5.50 for a tub of popcorn, $5.50 for a large fountain drink, $4 for a bottle of soda... My husband and I have been to several baseball games in the three years he has lived here. Every time, we have a blast. There isn't a lot to do in Midland, but a Rockhounds game is a great option for people of all ages and income levels. The tickets are very inexpensive and they are always running specials for discounted tickets. I've been to a number of baseball stadiums and I really enjoy how accessible this stadium is. It's a bit rough in the middle of summer with no shade, but this allows for the cool West Texas evening winds to blow through and really make for a comfortable game watching experience. In addition to the baseball game, the park has a number of amenities for the kids. In the outfield, there is a playground space and a water park for those hot summer months. I don't have kids, but I appreciate the park for having entertainment for those who do have children so that I may enjoy the game. We really love going to the baseball games and make a point to attend several every year! read more

I came here a lot last year. Came by myself and came with coworkers. This place is a gem out here in the desert. If you like baseball, you will love coming here. This is a minor league team for the A's. The BallPark is well maintained and has plenty of Parking. They are always trying to get the people involved and especially the kids. The people/fans that come here are very enthusiastic . The team is well backed by the community. If you are looking to watch the game and have kids. Don't worry they have a playground for kids. They have a train that goes around the ballpark. They do cater to kids here. If you like getting a deal. Then you have to come on Mondays. They have 2.00 seats. They have a lot of different food so you get choose from regular ballpark food like hotdogs to pizza and sandwiches. They have a fireworks display on Saturday nights. That is always a great time. Last stop for me this season of the Texas League ballparks located in Texas. This is a nice park with a couple amenities unique to Security Bank Ballpark. A picnic area gives kids a large area to run and play. The splash pad is located beyond centerfield. Once darkness falls, the light show makes the area even more fun. The park also has a train that offers a unique rolling view from the outfield. Midland is one of the minor league parks that holds a 50/50 raffle nightly. This opportunity gives fans a chance for half the nightly pot with the other half benefiting local causes. Once in the gates, those wishing to partake of adult beverages need to check in with the Sheriff's booth for a wristband. No band, no beer. There was a surprising number of craft beers along with the usuals. I also was surprised by the food options. The hot dog ($4) was average, too expensive for most nights, but $1 dogs would be worth it. The grande nachos ($7.50) grabbed top prize with tortilla rounds loaded with queso, ground beef, lettuce, tomato and jalapeños (onions too but we left them off) with a large scoop of fresh guacamole ($1.50) and sour cream. The chopped barbecue sandwich by Rocky's Roadhouse BBQ (available only at the left field shop) is locally smoked brisket on a bun. It carried good smoke on tender brisket. I wish it had been saucier, but they do offer Heinz packets if you really need it, for $6.25. There's also a healthy option stand for those who want to go in that direction. It's sad more people don't support the RockHounds. Tickets are reasonable. I understand it's hot but all the fixed seats are in the shade. It was a nice night to be at a ballgame. read more

Taking kids to a ball game is a classic experience. Management is obviously dedicated to making the stadium fun for everyone. There is a promotion every night: Sunday: Family Night 5/$25 with a coupon from the MRT Monday: $2 tickets with a coupon from 7-11 Tuesday: 2 for 1 tickets with a coupon from Baskin Robins Wednesday: Meet the players and get autographs Thirsty Thursday: Half-price draft beer and fountain drinks Friday: Giveaways (hats, jerseys, umbrellas, etc.) Saturday: Fireworks The food is amazing. You can get anything from gourmet hotdogs to BBQ nachos. They have food everywhere. The concessions and draft stations also all have their own special beers, like Redd's or Shandy. There is also plenty to fill the sweet tooth, like funnel cakes and snowcones. The souvenir shop is reasonably priced. They have lots of cool stuff. These make great gifts for homesick Midlanders. Kids have a lot of fun, too. Rocky and Juice the Moose are always walking around taking pics with the kids. Bring swimsuits and let them run in the neon fountains (bring a towel!) They can ride the train around the stadium for about $2 or $3. They can jump on the inflatable playground, or play in any of the two playgrounds there. My kids love going. Let's not forget about the Rockhounds. They play a great game, and they deserve our support. read more
