As a student of pioneer it's a fun and welcoming school but it can improve with details and information. Pioneer is an amazing school to attend but many 7-8 graders are not very nice. Pioneer if you see this please improve in your job to keep the school safe read more

So attached first year there the 8th grade boys keep being rude and disrespectful and don't care about the other kids they act like they are better than all the 6th graders and 7th graders and don't respect us please check the 8th graders they are rude and act weird read more

i personally do not recommend. Most teachers are nice, but some particular teachers are quite negative. i have attended this school for that past 3 years and by far my best year was 2021-2022. The school is fine in the education aspect, but on the fun and memories that your child could grow and have at this school are quiet dim. overall 6/10 read more

This review is based off the sports facility and sports fields, as I participated in an event there recently. The good: Covered parking (solar panels, awesome) keeps cars a bit cooler in the punishing heat. Clean, well-stocked bathrooms that are ADA-accessible The bad: Some of the fields are a far walk from the parking lot/s. If the covered parking is full, then I feel bad for you...but at least you can get a workout hauling all your equipment to the field. The ugly: The actual fields are in rough shape. Sharp, thorny weeds abound. They aren't as noticeable during the cooler, damper months; when it gets hot and dry, however, you can see them EVERYWHERE. These suckers stick to anything and everything and they can hurt. You will probably track some back to your car, so I recommend checking your socks and equipment before they ruin your car's floormats and invade your yard also. If not for the fact that this is primarily a school, I would rate much lower. I don't want to detract from the school's reviews on the education and staff, therefore 4/5 stars (but really 2/5 for the fields). read more

Great and safe school with super teachers that really care. Students can walk home safely with their beautifully landscaped trails. Only problem is the traffic in the morning and after school. They really only have one way in and one way out which makes dropping your kid off a 30 minute nightmare trying to get out of the single file lines. Whoever designed the parking lot, needs to get his degree revoked! read more

Pioneer is great school. My first year at pioneer has been great and the teachers and staff are amazing. They have so many fun activities that students can do inside and outside of the classroom. The students are also great. Some of them need a little bit of help in getting to be their best selves but other than that their great. Pioneer is a great school and I really recommend it for incoming students. read more

I credit Pioneer for the beginning of my daughter's academic achievements. They foster and appreciate their gifted students who may not fit the mold. And from what I've heard, they don't ignore their less achievement oriented students and try to integrate them in with the other students in a team approach. They also offer great electives. And unlike Irvine Unified middle schools, they are 6-8 and offer Geometry which is a huge bonus for students who achieve in Math. read more

I love this school I am one of the students there and it is amazing all the teachers are so kind and they will help you with anything you need. Tutorial is super helpful and I love it me and my friends normally go to the library to study but if we need help in a class then we go there for tutorial. The only thing no one likes is the drop off pick up at the school it is a 40 minute nightmare but most of the kids walk the trails to the school anyways read more

Most of the teachers & staff at Pioneer are truly committed, seem to care about their students & provide a high quality education. However, Introductory Band is not recommended for children with no musical background. The music teacher's specialty is in conducting skilled child musicians, who already know how to play an instrument & know the music basics. His dictatorial teaching style is best for self-directed children, who can win awards & sit perfectly still 45 minutes each day, 5 days a week, while telling them what to do. Therefore, a prerequisite for Beginning Band should be prior musical training. There is little tolerance & patience for those who do not immediately pick up the lesson. The teacher lacks the patience to explain how to work an instrument & read music. He is unapproachable to novice musicians because he reprimands & chides those who ask for help. Additionally, the teacher provided a hostile & confrontational environment whenever the restlessness of the solid B+ student was addressed with the student, during or after, class, or the parent. He was clearly resolved to limiting the student to the first semester. It is greatly disappointing that such an abusive introduction could potentially discourage future musicians from the wonderful world of music. read more

Pioneer Middle School has great teachers. I believe sincerely that they encourage students to follow and achieve their dreams. However, the leaders of the school, Assistant Principal, has failed to follow his duties and looks at the school problems in a completely biased way. read more
