    A spot with rat poop.

It smells like the rodent section of the pet store heavily. I wouldn't trust any food that isn't tightly packaged. The prices are too high and the store isn't very clean, but they're the only store like it in town so they can just get away with it. Friendly workers though.

The breakfast burritos here are to die for. Excellently prepared. The drink selection is surprisingly expansive as well

They have a great, inexpensive and unpretentious wine list with plenty by the glass. We split a glass of rose and it was lovely! The food was just okay. They bragged about having large portions but our $18 cheese plate was a small snack for sure. It also said it came with fruit and chocolate and they only brought out the cheese, crackers, and nuts. Not sure if they were out, we didn't have enough time to talk to our server to figure this out. The servers were all in a huge hurry and missed a lot. I know they were busy and don't completely blame them, but it was definitely amiss. They asked if we wanted more wine and we said no, so they cleared our food quickly even though we were still eating. They also put a reserved sign on our table while we were still there (we only stayed maybe 25-30 min) and told us that someone else wanted our table. It was kind of rude and we felt super rushed by the servers. We really felt like we were being hurried out and didn't get the full experience. They also took our water glasses and dumped them on the ground next to us while we were still sitting and before we were done. They could not have been more blatant about wanting us to go even though we weren't there long. I would probably revisit on a slower day to see if things improved, but the service wasn't great.

This might just be my favorite grocery store in existence…read more Everything I could ever need is in between this four wall, two story building. This co-op in Skagit is filled with healthy alternatives, fresh produce, and even a juice/coffee/snack bar serving up some delicious bites. I found a number of local products and beers to buy from the grocery side, and a mushroom sandwich. I cannot properly describe the deliciousness of this sandwich - you just had to be there. I also loved that the co-op's second story is filled with the most unique home and gift items you'll find. Everything is sustainable first, and they even have a decent book selection. Couldn't imagine a better place to spend my Saturday, just wish I lived closer so I could visit every weekend.

It's a neat grocery store with fresh build-your-own sandwich options, bakery treats, gifts and trinkets, wines, and a lot more. We ordered sandwiches from the kiosk where it prints a ticket to bring to the counter. You can purchase other items with your sandwich, too. We had ordered two pineapple conchas from the dessert case for a post-lunch dessert. The veggies on the sandwich were so fresh it hit the spot for a light midafternoon meal. There is an upstairs seating area, it's really quiet and private. After we ate our lunch, we looked at some trinkets in the gift shop that's upstairs too. It truly has it all!

As a retired Safeway vice president - Retail Operations, and though Safeway was sold to Albertsons…read moreI'm still loyal to Safeway. I have three major concerns with the Anacortes store. 1. The aisles are much narrower than normal. Because of that all of the aisle stacks should be eliminated. They impede traffic flow and the customers hate them. Furthermore, they hurt the sales of the product on the shelves behind them. During my tenure in the Portland Division we eliminated aisle stacks in all of our 103 stores. We also had a rule that two baskarts must be able to pass with ease any place in the store. 2. Because of the narrow aisles more stocking should be done at night. It's now a constant battle to get around them as they block aisle after aisle, especially in the cheese aisle. 3. This store has a much larger than normal employee turnover. WHY? I've been told that help is hard to recruit in Anacortes. However, I see other businesses with very low turnover.

Then an older gentleman said we can make Tuna on white bread if you like. We didn't even notice the sandwich counter. What a great concept. The lady who made our sandwich took real pride in making what we wanted. We will definitely stop by Safeway on our road trip for a quick picnic lunch.
