Whodathunk?! I'm not a big beer drinker so I didn't try a float, but I *am* a big fan of ice cream (anything with chocolate in it!) and tried the Elvis peanut butter and banana which was very tasty with chunks of PB in it. The folks in the place were so nice and very accommodating, and the serving area was set up nicely with the beer taps on the wall toward the middle and the ice cream on the extreme (as you face the counter) near the door end of the place. The ice cream choices were not huge like a Ben & Jerry's but they had some of the more popular ones, and it's locally made with mostly local ingredients (and pasture raised cows, etc etc). And, best of all, the ice cream is cheap compared to B&J's @ $2/scoop (as of 1/26/2019)! I'm guessing the beer offsets it so if you're just an ice cream fan, thank the beer fans for your savings :-) Thank you! Third time's the charm. The ice cream really was better this time around! It wasn't melty. It was the right consistency throughout. The lemon cookie flavor and the deep chocolate flavor were both pronounced and had bits of food in them. HUGE improvements! The Irish cream ice cream was labeled 21+ but didn't taste very alcoholic (it was a little icy so must have had SOME in there). The cone was again lovely. The price is rather high overall but you are getting some homemade gourmet stuff in an ever-pricier downtown area. I still wish they'd have darker beers to float ice cream in, but they did admit to having cans of Guinness around for a certain menu item, so I'm thinking I could try to convince them next time to float ice cream in that. Maybe... still prefer on draft... so we will just have to see. But with EVERYONE else rating them 5 stars and my #1 item being addressed, I think it's about time to give Pints the green flag! read more

My husband and I regularly get enough ice cream to feed a family of twelve every time we visit. Even during the shut down, we placed massive orders for pickup. I cried with joy when they started doing pickups. We love the owners and the team, and have literally never ordered a single thing that we thought was bad or even 'meh'. The ice cream cone selection is incredible, and we regularly play cone roulette and let whoever is taking our order pick cones to go with our ice cream. Not once has that proved silly. I don't think I could ever overstate just how phenomenal their (regularly rotating) menu is. Do yourself a favor and try the rosemary/olive oil/sea salt with a blue corn cone. Get any of the cookie or cookie butter offerings. Lemon cookie cardamom is so good I would push an old lady into traffic if it meant getting the last scoop for myself. I mean, I'd feel bad about it... but...ice cream. I have nothing negative to say about PINTS! I haven't tried any of their beer as I am pregnant, but the ice cream is AMAZING!! It's a perfect little date spot, or even a great place to bring the kids! The outside seating is a nice touch since the inside could get a little crowded at times. Decor is simple and inviting. Bathrooms are clean. The owners seem very friendly each time I've gone in. Now as for the ice cream...the brown sugar vanilla is to die for. At least in my opinion. Portions are generous but they are a little expensive. However I don't mind paying a little more for local and homemade :) I've heard from friends that the beer floats are great, but again haven't tried them yet. Each time I've gone in, they have a new flavor of ice cream and seem to be adding to their beer list; which i think is awesome! There is definitely a flavor for everyone. The wife ordered the Pumpkin Cream Ale from Saxapahaw Brewing with like a salted vanilla ice cream I think. It was also really good. My family and I stopped in yesterday (6/5) in the late afternoon, it was our first visit to Pints, and based off the reviews we were excited to try a new ice cream place. Pros-ice cream was delicious, pricing was competitive, no wait. Con- NONE of the staff were wearing masks OR gloves (despite handling our icecream cones-and having it currently mentioned on their account as doing so) and no, there was no hand washing immediately before taking our order either. We won't be back solely for this. While this last note probably isn't their fault-more as a heads up to anyone wanting to sit outside and eat.
