You need to check your receipt identical orders five dollar difference between them. I had them corrected. I paid one with my business card and the other one with cash. The business card is correct but the one I paid with cash was charged double I noticed a lot of people were getting overcharged. read more

The best restaurant in Edna, hands down! Okay, so it's the only restaurant in Edna that has a decent menu and table service but it is still really really good and I would say even better than any of the options I've tried in Victoria! I bring my mom here every few weeks and she really likes their shrimp quesadillas. I tried the Carnitas Platter on our last trip and they were the best carnitas I've had anywhere. Extremely moist and tender with a nice crispy skin. Also I love that they bring out complimentary queso with the chips and salsa. The staff are always very friendly and prompt. I really like coming here. Given that they have very little competition, they could easily lower their quality and service but they don't. There's a girl there her name is Gloria if you call there I suggest you speak to someone other than her she's very rude really bad costumer service on her part. This isn't the first time we've dealt with her. Please ask to speak to someone else I assure you it'll be a much better experience. Tucked in off the main drag in Edna, sits a little diamond in the rough. Starters- good warm tortilla chips and great salsa, with a bite. Several times we've been here & love it! I forget the name, but it is an enchilada plate that had a huge side order of beef fajita meat. Their beef fajitas were some of the best I ever had! Tender And flavorful. Another secret- their menudo (weekends only) is fantastic, chock full of meat, seasoned just right. I shouldn't, but had to order their homemade four tortillas. Full bar, good margaritas....the only issue preventing 5 stars is the price of beer. Enjoy, it's a hour and a half away from me and I'm ready to head there after this review. read more

In Edna for work and tried this place. The hot sauce was wonderful and the food was even better. I had the Rosita plate consisting of cheese enchilada and tamale topped with wonderful chili con carne, a beef taco, beans, rice, and pico for 10.99. We've been to the Pinto Bean in Edna 3-4 times in the past 3 months. Each time the entrees have been outstanding and at a fraction of the price you'd pay for the same quality in San Antonio or Houston. It's become our go-to when in Edna. Whoa! This place has seriously delicious Mexican breakfast. We had one waitress for a table of 6 adults and about 5 toddlers. She rocked it! We visit Edna, once a month, to meet our daughter 1/2 way between Corpus and Houston to pick up the Granddaughters. We usually just meet at Wal-Mart, but tonight we had dinner at "Pinto Bean". We were seated immediately and our server was fantastic! The menu selection was great! It didn't take long for our order to arrive and boy.... was it hot! I usually don't write reviews but the fact that this place has way too many servers on and not a single one can acknowledge us and cash us out it's pretty ridiculous. I've been a server for a long time and I'm just blown away by how many servers there are and the fact that they just all stand there staring and not cleaning or anything. What are you paying these people for. What a waste. Everyone that works there seems like they would rather be anywhere else but there and it definitely shows with how they talk to the customers. I discovered this place when I was passing thru this little town of Edna, I tried there breakfast tacos and fell in love with them. The tacos are big, with plenty of eggs and then. The flower tortillas are thick and taste great, and feel homemade. There hot sauce was good, but could've been spicier for my taste. This place is nice inside, and has a small town feel to it. I will return to try it out again for dinner. read more

Service was horrible despite there being at least 10-12 servers standing around with not many customers. We tried to place a simple drink order of vodka and club soda. It took no less than 5 servers to take that order. The chips and salsa was cold and horrible. However, the food was excellent! Tripas tacos were amazing! As was the Chile relleno. Will probably go there again. Won't order drinks. Won't expect good service. But crispy tripas would be worth the bad service. Would be a great place if it was managed better. read more

I've been working in Edna for the last month & eat at the Bean pretty regularly. They usually have 4 decently priced specials up every day. For lunch & dinner you get chips with salsa & queso with your order. The queso isn't great. Its kinda watery but its free so I'll take it! The salsa is usually nice & spicy. The tortas are awesome. My favorite is the chicken fajita torta. They come with fries & cost about 3 bux. The plates & specialty dishes are fairly priced & you get a lot of food. Its not the cleanest place I've ever been but its not awful. They get busy during meal times but service is usually pretty good. read more

Can I give NO stars? Lunch was busy, expectations were not too high. Greeter tried to seat me by front door where hot air blasted you when door opened - declined and was seated in the back where patrons and waitstaff ran into my table or chair no less than 6 times. Waitress got part of my order wrong and omitted side order entirely, and never provided silverware - I had to wander around and steal some from an open table. Tea glass sat empty for most of meal, when I flagged down help for a sweet tea refill, I got unsweetened & she just pointed at sugar on the table. This place has yet to disappoint. Well, it's been a little cold a few times we've taken it to-go to eat at home, but I haven't had anything I didn't like thus far. My sons and I were in Edna to hunt and went to this restaurant for lunch the first day of our trip and the food was excellent and the service was wonderful. best beans we have ever had had and both my sons are great cooks. We ended up eating almost every meal there. Can't wait to go back.
