I am in love with this concept of gathering with friends and/or strangers with a few bottles of wine, a blank canvas and music in the background :) A visit to Pinot's Palette makes for a great date! What a perfect idea for a first date! You can take the edge off with some vino and it is intimate enough that you can share a convo with your date and not feel the pressure of a one-on-one situation when you're just getting to know each other. The instructors at this location are all so sweet and helpful. The instructions are clear and they always keep things very light and playful to make everyone feel comfortable with painting. No one cares if you are a Van Gogh and no one cares if your artistic skills digress back to your days of grade school! Honest! We brought a couple of our friends with us and I think they were pleasantly surprised by how much they really enjoyed themselves. This location near Memorial City has not been there very long but I am very happy to have a Pinot's Palette so close to home. Hand-painted one-of-a-kind artwork Christmas presents for everyone! Ha! :P

This is really a fun place to explore your creative side. If you've never painted before, don't worry, the friendly instructors will give you step-by-step instructions to create your own masterpiece. The painting subject for each class is displayed on their web site, so that you can plan ahead on which painting interest you the most. Be aware that some classes can fill up pretty quickly, depending on the night and subject; therefore I would recommend trying to plan a few weeks in advance. The great thing about Pinot's Palace is all the painting supply, from the paint to the canvas is provided, all you have to do is show up. Bottle water and utensils are also provided, but if you would like to bring your own beverages and snacks, you may do so. An ice bucket is provided to keep your beverages chilled. Seating is normally assigned based on each reservation. I believe they do this to keep groups together and to see how many seats are remaining, in case there are some additional attendees. Before you begin your masterpiece you are provided an apron to prevent paint from splashing onto your clothes, but it's not always 100% full proof, so I would recommend not wearing white or anything that you would not want paint on. I'm not sure what type of paint they use, but you can always inquire to see if it can be easily removed. After the instructor gives you a brief background on the painting, they will give you step-by-step instructions. The process is quite fascinating as each step is broken down into layers. You start with a blank white canvas, but by the end of the whole process, you end up with something beautiful. It's important to keep in mind that no two paintings are the same, so although you want to make the painting as close to the original, it's okay to put your own unique touches during the course. Art should be an expression of yourself. I highly recommend this place if it's your first time or not. You can't go wrong given you'll have an awesome painting to hang on your wall by the end of this experience.

I think I'm addicted. Just take my money already. So, I've been wanting to try this for the longest time - and I finally did! SO GLAD I DID. Paint, drinks, and good company.. the perfect combination for a great night. Yes, it's a little pricey. But so worth it. Came here with my boyfriend and we painted the night away. The art instructor was extremely sweet, talented, and patient. Everyone there is also always friendly (maybe it's because everyone's drinking), but it's effortless to start good conversation and make new friends. You can bring anything from wine to champagne to liquor. And don't forget to bring cheese and crackers to snack on. They provide an ice bucket to cool your drinks, glasses/cups for all your drinks, as well as complimentary water bottles! Now, I'm not an artist of any sort, but I was impressed with my painting. LOOK AT IT. I didn't think I was capable of such art.

I surprised my other with a painting class and it was a wonderful experience. The addition of wine made it extra fun but the class itself was worth it. We painted a colorful Houston skyline and were very pleased with the end result. The instructor was patient and helpful throughout the painting process. Jason was on hand to help clean up, tend to questions and refill wine glasses. Our class was originally for 2 hours 7-9 but we ended up staying until 10 which is great because we wanted to finish our wine lol and oh yeah, the painting :) I plan on coming back in the future

This place was so much fun! We got seated next to each other and enjoyed some wine while painting. The instructor was very detailed and helpful. We enjoyed the company of our neighbors as well lol. Everything was set up prior to arrival. I recommend for a date night or just to have fun.

this was my first time at Pinot's palette and I loved it. The instructors were nice and helpful and for someone who can't even draw a proper stick figure, I felt like my painting turned out nicely. I would definitely come back

Such a fun place for a group and you really do not need any artistic talent to enjoy Love that you can take your own drinks and snacks as that made it even more "merry" Very good value Probably geared more towards the girls night out crowd but my brave husband had a great time too

I got to know about Art Cellar through Google and Yelp reviews. I had booked a Virtual Paint (…read morekids birthday) party with Art Cellar. After the payment was made, a zoom link was shared by the studio owner. There was no limit on the minimum number of guests required. The session was divided into two parts. In the introductory round Sarah introduced colors and various medium. After 45 minutes the participants were given a timed break. She used this break towards virtual cake cutting and other fun stuff. Though it is not easy to teach kids virtually. Sarah was able to engage them for two hours. She is a great instructor and very knowledgeable. As far as the pricing is concerned, I would say it is towards a higher end. She charges $50 / participant for the virtual session. This includes the material cost. The materials can be collected from her studio, or can be delivered at minimal price. In my opinion $50 / participant is total value for money. This session is not comparable to the regular art & craft theme birthday party. Sarah helped the kids in learning a new skill. She gave mini breaks when the kids were getting confused. She ensured that so no one gets behind and patiently answered all their questions. Each child was able to create something unique at the end of the session. I loved this experience. I am looking forward to host in person private event at her studio.

I've been wanting to go here for months and am so glad I finally had the opportunity!!…read more I went with my family on a Friday afternoon. We booked the 45 minute candle-making class not realizing there was a difference between it and the regular 2 hour long class. Trust me - there's a big difference! We realized we weren't going to figure out another time to do the longer class, so we doubled down on the 45 minutes. We really enjoyed picking out our vessels and scents for the candles. During the 45 minute class you get access to some but not all of the available scents. We enjoyed the mixing and matching and I settled on a couple floral combos for my candles. I like that they list different categories of scents that tend to go better together. Next, you measure out the scents to mix with your wax. Our chandlers did a lot of the heavy lifting (heating the wax and stirring) for us as we had our hands full. Finally, we poured out our wax and cleaned up! We were able to pick up our candles the next day and I've enjoyed the smells throughout my apartment SO much since then. I learned so much about candle care too. I even stopped by a few days later - they sell DIY kits for candles, soaps, and even bath bombs, which I got as a Christmas gift for a family member! I love that they encourage you to save your vessel to reuse at another class to make a new candle - I will certainly be doing that. They're pretty easy to access with free parking in rice village garages for 2 hours. I can't wait till next time I visit!

Our class was full and while we didn't have time to meet the other participants and would have liked to, it was interesting to overhear their comments while they were celebrating their own milestones in life. The value for this class is five star!
