Stopped here to have dinner before our penguin parade. Lots of seating indoor and out. We had a nice table near the windows on a chilly evening. We chose to split a salad, the bread and olives, and a pizza. While I like veggie pizza, husband likes meaty pizza so we asked if they could do a half and half. While they said, they don't usually do that, they made an exception for us. We love that focus on the customer and appreciate the accommodation. All the food was excellent. We were debating about all three salads and our server suggested the one we got and we were not disappointed. Such a nice light dressing and lots of veggies. For dessert, we had the affogato. I love that dessert. So simple but delicious. Husband hates coffee and loves ice cream. I love both so works for both of us. read more

After wrapping up our night at the penguin parade we headed over to downtown and decided to eat at Pino's. It seemed busy with lots of cars parked out front. It was a fairly large restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. Decor was nice with an unusual display of motorcycle outfits mounted to the walls. We were promptly seated and asked a couple times by different staff if we were ready to order. It seemed like there was a lack of coordination. However, after placing our order it did take awhile to flag a waiter's attention to get water refills and later one to go box for leftovers. In general the pastas were good in size but a bit lacking in flavors and seasoning. The bolognese and arrabiatta tasted about the same. The chicken risotto was watery instead of creamy. The romana pizza turned out to be the best of all the dishes we tried that night. At the end of the meal, we paid at the counter in front. read more

This place has one of the highest ratings in Phillip Island. What I liked immediately is the price. And the portion is just right. I realize most of places give you so much you cannot finish for a higher price, much like America. I would much rather pay less for a smaller portion you can actually finish. The food quality is defonitely there too. I would not say it was the best Italian but all the dishes we had were good. Carbonara was little underseasoned but salt and pepper fixed it. Great brick oven pizza! I ordered the meat lovers pizza and it was covered in different types of meat. Unlike other restaurants, each bite gave you a few different meat flavors. The best part is the bbq sauce they have on top. It is sweet and is a great flavor combination with the meat. The slices are thin, so if you're very hungry I suggest getting an appetizer too in order to be full. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive, bringing us water quickly when we ran out and checking in a few times. It was a bit pricy for pizza, but it was worth it. It's not often that you get great food at very affordable prices, but here it is! We were on our way to see the little blue penguins come ashore, but we needed to grab some dinner first. Yelp directed us to Pino's, which looked like it was absolutely packed with people. We decided to wait for a table, and thankfully it didn't take too long to get seated, maybe 15 minutes at most. The interior decor was definitely aiming for Italian, and our wooden table was dimly lit by some beautiful lamps. We ordered the rocket pizza, cannelloni, salad, and salmon, and wow. Everything was amazing. The fish was perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth tender. The cannelloni was full of cheesy goodness without being overwhelmingly heavy. Normally I am not a fan of rocket lettuce, but the salad struck just the right balance of flavor between the astringent leaves and the pears, walnuts and dressing to create a delightful dish. For dessert we ordered the tiramisu, and we had absolutely no regrets. Service was definitely shoddy, but that is somewhat understandable given how busy Pino's is. That is the only negative thing I have to say about the amazing dinner we had here. read more

This restaurant was amazing! Good food, great chocolate martinis & there's motorcycle swag everywhere! We solely ended up on Philip Island to do a motorcycle track day at the GP track while vacationing from California. Fantastic food and service. I managed to indulge myself with the veal, and it was prepared to perfection. This restaurant gets very busy during MotoGP weekend, and you may spot a star or two dining here. Plenty of motorcycling memorabilia adorns the walls, including sets of leathers. read more

Delicious and affordable! Many restaurants on Philip island have expensive tourist prices, but Pino's was very reasonable. Had the marinara pizza and the carbonara, both very good and a perfect amount of food for two people. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Philip Island read more

I have to go against the grain here. The pizzas had fake ham and cheese. The tiramisu was pretty terrible and I've been on a 3 week culinary tour of Italy. Coffee was way too hot. Made me not want to come for the pizza. read more

Nothing not to love here. Bias to my European background, Pino's delivers a laid back, love of family and food environment. Serving up some exceptional dishes and wonderful wait service, while located along the main road of Cowes, Phillip Island just before the esplande, Pino's is a must-experience for dining while abroad. Our latest choices off the menu were the Insalate Caprese, a beautifully fresh, light, colorful entree, and for main, of course a Pino's pizza (vegetarian, yum!) and a serve of the Gnocchi Fatti in Casa, an incredible blend of gnocchi and what sits on the palette as almost a creamy pumpkin soup-like sauce topped with basil, mouth watering to say the least; almost worth the two hour drive back to the island for dinner again! This is great food at a great price. The seafood pizza is a classic favourite and the pastas are all better than decent. The owner, rosa, ensures service is speedy and is always visible to the guests. This is the original best restaurant in Phillip Island and it has stood the test of time. If you want to have a really good meal at a mid range price, make this your place to be. Nb if they put the prices higher I would give it four stars, it is getting the fifth star for value. read more

Cowes is a very small place and has many restaurants and Pino is definitely one of the best ones! The service is incredible. We had Marco help us and he was really accommodating with my Vegan diet. The veganized gnocchi was really tasty in a very nice pumpkin sauce they added extra vegetables for me. My husband's salmon was done perfectly and he was very happy. The food here is good - it's exactly what you hope for when you choose a place like this for dinner. It does the ubiquitous pizza flavours (hawaiian, capricciosa etc) and the standard pastas well, as good as any place similar (La Porchetta etc) that would usually be your favourite local go-to. If you feel like "western" Italian, then this place will leave you satisfied. A minor order stuff up was corrected without fuss - there's both senior and junior staff working here fairly seamlessly. Not startlingly cheap, but you get a good feed for what you pay for. I'm not sure it's worthy of it's elevated rating status, but this may be a reflection on the limited other options in town. read more

Service was fine, food was OK but be careful of quantities. Pizzas are smaller than what appears on the wall. Kids meal servings were tiny. $7 for corkage per bottle is a bit stiff when you unscrew the top of your own wine. read more

Have been dining here for several years. Staff very friendly and competent. Service quick. Portions and size of menu have been downsized but pasta, pizzas and desserts terrific. A dinner for two or a gathering of friends makes no difference. Still excellent service and food. read more
