As a Karen, I take my reviews very seriously, and I truly only have positive things to say about…read moreOMA :) I've always wanted to try jiu-jitsu or some type of martial art, but as someone who is shy and has a difficult time stepping outside of my comfort zone, I put it off for years. When I finally decided to give OMA a try, I spoke with Jazmin, who has been kind and welcoming from the beginning. Her kindness helped ease so much of my anxiety and made the sign up process easy.Coach Chris also made a great first impression. He allowed me to attend a free jiu jitsu class, and I really enjoyed seeing his dynamic with the students. He explained the techniques in a way that were easy to understand, answered all of my questions, and took the time to explain the different programs they offer so I could find the right fit for me. He also let me try a boxing class, which was a great opportunity to experience more of what OMA has to offer. I decided to sign up for the five week jiu jitsu course, and I honestly can't recommend it enough! I worked with Coach Brandon, who is patient, knowledgeable, and easygoing. I really appreciate the level of detail he puts into teaching. He would demonstrate the techniques multiple times and make sure everyone felt comfortable and confident before we gave them a try. He was also incredibly patient whenever I needed extra help, which, let's be honest, was often. One thing I really appreciated was the way Coach Brandon corrected me when I wasn't doing something right. He would explain the proper technique, why it was important, the advantages of doing it correctly, and the disadvantages of the way I was doing it. That made everything much easier to understand and remember. As someone who was already nervous about trying something completely outside of my comfort zone, having a coach who is patient, encouraging, and willing to meet me where I was made a huge difference. Overall, everyone at OMA, staff, coaches and  students have been incredibly kind and welcoming. I'm genuinely grateful for the safe and supportive environment they've created.

We are so grateful for the valuable teachings from Master Nile and Master Sunny over these two years. While Taekwondo is often associated with physical fitness and martial arts, I truly appreciate how they weave in important life lessons. There's always a thoughtful "topic of the week," and they consistently incorporate it into each session in a meaningful way. The environment is warm, welcoming, and incredibly organized. The instructors are always available to answer questions, and the assistant instructors deserve a huge shout-out as well--they are so encouraging, motivating, and patient with the kids. This has been our favorite after-school class so far, and we couldn't be happier!
